++ Hello to all new friends made from the We Love Women! multifandom friending meme. *waves*

++ Our air conditioner crapped out on us the other day. Fortunately we're getting it looked it/fixed tomorrow, so it's not the end of the world. Still, sitting in the house right now is like sitting in a humid chamber. Thankfully, we can open all the windows and doors at night to cool everything down.

++ I'm not a fan of award shows, however I'm very satisfied with the wins from the Critic's Choice Awards this year, including Orphan Black and Orange is the New Black. Both of these shows focus on the stories of women. I've recently begun an interest in OITNB and there's a wide range of characters and all of them get a chance to have their stories told, and of course Orphan Black is quite unique in the sense that one actress is playing a variety of different characters, all with different personalities and backgrounds. Essentially, it's nice seeing these shows getting recognition where they wouldn't otherwise have been.

++ With upcoming films, Lucy is one that I am looking forward to watching. The plot looks fascinating, and let's be honest, how can one resist Scarlett Johansson beating people up and generally being awesome? Also Jupiter Ascending looks interesting as well. It sort of resembles those convoluted scifi/fantasy movies that are more entertainment than anything. Although unfortunately it's been pushed back to next year.

I haven't done one of these things in a long time, so I'm not particularly sure what to say. So I figured that a meme would suffice in the whole "getting to know me" thing (at least for now). Needless to say, I'm happy that there's more friending memes being circulated about now.

After finishing (sadly) Caprica via the DVD set, and being further impressed more and more by the finale as I rewatch it because damn it is good, and moving onto not only listening to the commentary but doing the same with the Dollhouse DVDs, I had forgotten that some of my shows were returning this week! Pretty Little Liars resumes on Monday and V returns on Tuesday! \O/ I know some others are returning too, I'll have to look at a schedule. I can't wait for The Cape's mid-season premiere, yay Summer Glau!

It feels odd, doesn't it? It feels like 2010 had just arrived and suddenly it's 2011. I don't know whether I should be concerned about time going by quickly.....

Also, I don't normally do resolutions for the new year, mostly because I rarely if ever keep them. However I do plan on making some adjustments regarding this journal. Nothing serious so don't worry! It's just my way of arranging things such as topic for discussion, adding more variety into the mix since I know most of what I talk about some people on my flist aren't even a participant on and somehow I feel like I'm being dismissive of them. I would like to also reconnect with many people on my friendslist who I haven't chatted with in a while, either by drifting apart fandom-wise or whatever. I don't want to exclude anyone, and if you've felt that way I feel kind of bad about that. So if we haven't chatted in a while please, feel free to drop by and say hey or something of the like.

++ First of all, this V-Gift Snowflake Cookie sending thing, which is of no charge whatsoever? THE BESTEST THING EVER CREATED! Of course it's only for the holidays thus limited time offer, but dammit it's made so many people happy just to get acknowledged and have that kind of love from their lj-friends. This is why I love this time of the year. Spreading the love all over the place. It's contagious. THANK YOU EVERYONE! SERIOUSLY, SO MUCH LOVE I'M ABOUT TO BURST! ♥

++ SciFi's Alice premiered this evening, the first part, and it is SO FRAKKING GOOD YOU GUISE, OMG. Of course it would be good, it was developed by the people that did Tin Man which was awesome in itself so this was definitely going to be amazing, too. Plus, I really enjoy different takes on these kinds of stories, of the Alice in Wonderland story and recreating an entire universe based around it, just like with what they did with Wizard of Oz for Tin Man. A futuristic alternate universe kind of fairytale, with its own legends and mythology. I love it. I'll have more thoughts once the miniseries is all wrapped up by tomorrow night.

And...I kinda ship Alice/Hatter. Oh come on, you all agree with me, don't lie. The chemistry and UST is scorching, like whoa. And Hatter is quite hot, not gonna lie. *g*

++ Is it pathetic of me of actually waiting for SciFi to air a freaking preview for Stonehenge Apocalypse? Between the awesome Caprica previews, I am not ashamed in saying that I was waiting for them to show at least something. WHEN IS IT COMING OUT?! I WANT AND NEED MY MISHA COLLINS FIX NOW, DAMMIT! IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT MISHA MUST BE ON EVERYTHING ON DEMAND, RIGHT NOW.
