++ Hannibal has been renewed for a third season. I haven't really talked about this show on here though I have been watching it, and it makes me excited for what will be in store for the future. Agents of Shield has also been renewed, along with picking up Agent Carter. Since I have been paying attention to the fandom reactions throughout its run, I'm waiting until I can marathon the first season of AOS proper.

++ I haven't watched anything past the premiere, though since there's been some concern about certain things happening on Warehouse 13, and I myself have mixed feelings on what I've been hearing as well, so I've decided to wait until the series finishes to see how it ends and whether it'll be worth my time watching or not.

++ The LEGO Hobbit video game has officially ruined my life, in the best possible way. I think I've played it almost every single day since I got it. I'm doing free play now and it's honestly the greatest thing ever.

++ Richard Armitage weighs in on the possibility for Hobbit stand-alone stories. For purely selfish reasons I would absolutely love the idea of there being a prequel to Thorin's story. We do get brief flashbacks in the trilogy, though not enough in my opinion. It would be fascinating to see what life was like in Erebor during its heyday before the attack, what Thorin was like as a young prince, his relationship with his younger siblings, his relationship with his father and grandfather, and seeing the slow decline of Thror underneath the spell of the gold sickness, the politics and relationship between the dwarves of Erebor and the other dwarven kingdoms/other races, perhaps even seeing them during their exile, how Thorin provided for his people, and so forth. I just feel like there's so much that can be told and explored from that alone. I like that Richard mentions that he's written his own biography for Thorin (basically his own fanfiction headcanon for the character) and that he wouldn't be opposed to the idea at all, which isn't surprising considering how much he loves this character and his story. And as someone who has been loving and enjoying these adaptations, I wouldn't be opposed either for more of an extension either, since I'm not ready to give up this world just yet and would love, more than anything, for them to continue on for just a little bit longer.

In actuality though, as much as I would love to see this become a reality, Peter Jackson seems ready to say goodbye to Middle-earth, and unless someone else takes the helm (like Guillermo del Toro, for example) and deals with the legal issues concerning the Tolkien Estate, it unfortunately seems less likely to happen.

It's the beginning of the end... )

One down, five more episodes to go. I am not ready for this show to go away forever. Damn you, Syfy/Comcast!

++ Natalie Dormer has been cast as Cressida in Mockingjay! Delightful news and excellent casting, in my opinion. Get dem roles, girl. ♥

++ The soundtrack for Caprica finally arrived the other day, two-disc and autographed booklet and all, thereby completing pretty much everything of my BSG media collection. Which makes me sad that there won't be anymore, but proud because I am such a geek about this universe it's actually ridiculous. Anyway, the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous, as usual with anything Bear McCreary does. Next on the list: get the Defiance soundtrack.

++ And because I want to torture myself, I've been looking at all of the Warehouse 13 interviews with all of the cast and creators talking about the final season (or rather final six episodes), and Eddie has been updating his Twitter with pictures and things on their final days shooting and it's kind of heartbreaking. They all thought they would have had at least a little more time, at least more than six episodes. But I think my favorite person in interviews has to be Joanne Kelly, because she both gushes and expresses her genuine love of the show and the characters and her appreciation and gratitude towards the fans. Especially in this interview from SDCC where she talks about Myka and her arc, and discusses things like about Myka's sexuality and her relationship with Helena. Something I wish the show had more time exploring, tbh. But my favorite is this particular interview where, aside from her discussing the love she has for the show and why it's amazing, she gives the most appropriate shade towards Syfy, and it's frakking hilarious and brilliant.

All the actors seem to be in that place of both being ready to let things go but still sad and disappointed that they have limited amount of time to wrap things up. It's an emotional time, but some of them are taking it in stride. Joanne seems to be very genuine and honest when it comes to talking about it, and is very hilarious and adorable when doing so. I'm really gonna miss these bunch of goofs.

Rounding up some of my favorite bits from SDCC:

It's like Christmas for geeks and nerds.... )

Obviously it's not everything that happened, because that would take forever to get through, never mind that there are still some panels that I haven't seen yet that I'm waiting to be uploaded in their entirety. This is just my own personal round-up of favorite moments that have really made me smile and appreciate why SDCC is such an amazing event.

Let me talk about Warehouse 13 for a moment.

Warehouse 13 started off as this funny, lighthearted dramedy science fiction show where a group of misfit people work together to save the world from potentially dangerous artifacts, where sometimes dramatic things happened but at the end of the day it all worked out and there were happy fun times filled with teasing and quirks and such. But then, around the third season, is when everything changed. The mood and tone shifted, and the fun lighthearted show got more serious. Actions had severe consequences, characters underwent personal traumas, experienced permanent losses, that not even the endless wonders of the Warehouse could fix. It got emotional for viewers as these things were happening as the seasons went on. This is not a bad thing! If anything, I'm highly appreciative, since most shows would decline in quality or creativity as it continues, this little show exceeded my expectations for what it could become. Such a natural progression in a story is a gift, imho.

And the fourth season certainly delivered.

Season finale, my thoughts on the fourth season, and what will happen next. )

I still can't believe that the show will be ending after next season, it's certainly sad to think about honestly. But after this finale, I can't think of a better way for the show to go out but with a bang and I think next season will be worthwhile to give us something satisfactory to conclude all these seasons we've had with this fantastic show.

++ Warehouse 13 has been renewed for a fifth season. It will be their final season and only scheduled for six episodes. I'm a mixture of feelings about this because I'm sad that it's going to be the last season because it's been my favorite show on that network and has grown and progressed so much since it premiered. However, at least they're getting six episodes to finish off the series the way that they want to. Hopefully they won't pull a Eureka where Syfy pulls those last six episodes. So, crossing all the fingers that that doesn't happen.

++ Game of Thrones may last for only seven seasons, producers anticipate. It's understandable, considering that they are splitting book three into two seasons, they are going to try to draw out as much as they can, especially since we're still waiting for the sixth installment, The Winds of Winter, to come out. And lord knows how long it will take for the seventh and final installment of the series to be finished. So I think it's sensible to try and predict when the show might make its own endgame.

++ As of right now, there's been no news regarding the fate of Hannibal. Though regardless whether NBC renews it or not, it seems that there are alternative options since other places are interested in picking it up. So that's a good sign, at least.

++ Peter Jackson, cast and crew return to filming pick-ups for The Hobbit: There And Back Again, and particularly for the Battle of the Five Armies. Just reading his little note about it being the last time they'll be revisiting Middle-earth ever via filming makes me sad. Also, this makes me anticipate the vlogs that will be coming soon! Which reminds me, I NEEDS A TRAILER FOR DESOLATION OF SMAUG PLEASE.

++ Pretty Little Liars S4 promo. The show returns June 11th.

++ Official trailer for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

++ Killer Women trailer. I'm hoping that it's good because, well, the trailer isn't exactly its best selling point, imo. For me it's all about Tricia Helfer and Michael Trucco, just having them back together on my screen makes me happy. Also Tricia/gun-handling gives me life.

++ Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart appeared on Tabletop this week! I'm a huge fan of both these lovely ladies, so it was a pleasant surprise that they were featured in an episode, providing their usual dose of hilarity and puns, naturally. ♥

++ Vikings got picked up for a second season! \O/

++ Official Best of Warehouse 13 recap video, which is basically a quick rundown of what the show is about, from who the characters and what they do, etc. While it does reveal what happened in the finale to make way for the next season, it is basically non-spoilery for most things. Definitely entertaining for fans (esp for the Myka/HG fans out there for the little nudge-wink mention), and also for people who want to check out what the show is about as well. Which, of course, I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it yet since it is really a fantastic show.

Haven 3.02 - 'Stay' Episode Review )

Warehouse 13 4.10 - 'We All Fall Down' Episode Review )

Revenge 2.01 - 'Destiny' Episode Review )

Shows are returning for the fall season, which means there's going to be loads to catch up on and updating with thoughts and reviews.

The only new show this season that I am interested in is Elementary, and I'll make a separate post about that later. But with everything else, it's mostly shows that are returning from summer break into their new seasons. Doctor Who is on break until their Christmas special, and WH13 just finished theirs and will come back next year in April, which is seven months from now. And aside from the current ones I've already been reviewing, there are my other fandoms that I've fallen behind on that I need to catch up to their new seasons. So yeah, already a handful of shows I am watching right now, and not everything is back yet.
