For the truly wronged, real satisfaction can only be found in one of two places: absolute forgiveness, or mortal vindication. )

My Comments: Revenge was among my favorite shows when it aired, and Emily Thorne, played by Emily van Camp, is absolutely stone cold ruthless in it with her quest for vengeance against those who ruined her family and her life was a well-played strategy. Seeing fanvids for it being made even after all these years later makes me happy, and this fanvid in particular perfectly encapsulates how terrifying she can be when her determination to destroy another person's life is. She is dangerous, threatening, and can be as cruel as she is kind and vulnerable, and how you definitely don't want to get on her bad side. The vidder chose and edited some fantastic scenes from throughout the show, and it reminds me why I fell in love with her character in the first place.

++ Revenge is apparently getting a reboot. They claim that it'll be more of a sequel, but just by the description, nah, it's basically just a reboot. I'll be honest, yes, I adored the show when it first premiered but it did start drifting off in the later seasons. But the reason why the show popped off initially was its unique structure in the first season and of course the casting, particularly of Emily van Camp who was utter perfection as Emily Thorne. I honestly think that the backbone of the entire show was Emily, Nolan, and Victoria. In fact, the only sequel series I would ever want is for Emily and Nolan being the most epic duo wrecking havoc by scheming and plotting. So unless that's what's involved, I'm not at all interested.

++ Fresh Off The Boat will be ending after six seasons. Constance Wu must be thrilled by this news. Jokes aside though, while I only sporadically watched the show here and there I liked it, and six seasons is definitely a good enough run to end on. It is essentially the first long-running Asian-American sitcom series in American television history.

++ It seems that someone thought it was a good idea to reboot the Scream franchise without anyone from the originals attached. I'll be honest, I don't like this idea. I absolutely love the Scream franchise, I think all four movies were great in their own ways (and was actually hoping for the possibility of a Scream 5 before Wes passed away). I never got around to watching the television series that was made because I wasn't interested, but I know that Wes Craven was involved with it. But with Wes Craven gone and Kevin Williamson not involved with this project, it just seems rather pointless to resurrect something that probably has no intention of continuing the legacy that Wes Craven already built. I know, many original films or franchises often get remakes and reboots done all the time, this isn't the first nor will it be the last as we should just naturally assume now that anything popular will get the remake treatment no matter what, but that's what makes this even more frustrating. The genius of the series was its metatexual tone and subversion, its what made it unique in the first place. Without that, it'll just be another generic slasher flick with no spark or charm. Besides, like what was said in Scream 4, "don't fuck with the original".

Both Revenge and Helix have been cancelled.

While I haven't been watching Revenge recently and am way behind, it makes sense considering what has been happening lately on the show. It just seems time to end it in general, I think. I'm hoping that the series finale will at least be satisfactory (and here's to hoping that Emily van Camp gets involved with either Agent Carter somehow or even Agents of Shield, because that would be awesome). However, I am sad about Helix. I haven't seen the second season yet, but I loved the first season. I was hoping for at least one more season, dammit. And that's always the case, isn't it? Either something overstays its welcome or is prematurely cancelled when it deserved at least one more season, and the latter is mostly just to wrap things up proper.

As for Agent Carter, it hasn't been officially announced yet but all signs point to hopeful that it'll be renewed. Also, talk about the possibility of Peggy/Angie happening? Please, please don't tease me with this because I really want it to be true.

Lost Girl - 3.08 - Fae-ge Against The Machine )

Revenge - 2.15 - Retribution )

Apparently, there's been a lot of excitement going on today in fandom. Mostly because of the announcement that the possibility of a VERONICA MARS movie may be happening.

This is rather a big deal, considering that whenever Kristen and Rob Thomas approached Warner Bros. over the years about the possibility of making a Veronica Mars movie they always shot it down because they didn't believe there was an audience for it. Despite, you know, the huge dedicated fanbase and all the raving critics when the show was airing, etc. Well, thank goodness for something like Kickstarter to exist because fans can help fund for the movie, making this possibility into a reality. In a way, this shows Warner Bros. that there is an audience out there, and that there is massive support of getting this movie in production.

I'm all for this. Bring it on.

UPDATE: Well damn, that was fast. It seems that fans can do anything, including raising over 2 million dollars in a single day. O_O

Revenge - 2.14 - Sacrifice )

In other fandom happenings, it has been officially confirmed that Misha Collins has been, once again, signed on as a series regular for the ninth season of Supernatural. About time.

The Oscars were last night, but I didn't watch. While I'm disappointed that The Hobbit didn't win anything, I am ecstatic that Jennifer Lawrence won for Best Actress! I just love her so much. Girl has been slaying everywhere this season, winning all the awards. She rightfully deserves them, too, given she's very talented and puts a lot of effort into the projects she works on. Plus she's totally adorable and completely down-to-earth and, despite little embarrassing mishaps, she doesn't take herself seriously and has the full love and support of everyone around her, including her family (all who glomped her after her win, d'awww.) The fact that she's now an Oscar winner is quite impressive and very well-deserved. Congrats, bb gurl. ♥

In other fandom news:

++ Trailer for Defiance, a new series on Syfy.
Set in the near future, Defiance introduces an exotically transformed planet Earth, its landscapes permanently altered following the sudden – and tumultuous – arrival of seven unique alien races. In this somewhat unknown and unpredictable landscape, the richly diverse, newly-formed civilization of humans and aliens must learn to co-exist peacefully.
I'm quite excited for this new series, originally because of Jamie Murray and Julie Benz, but seeing the trailer makes it have that Firefly and Farscape feel, which has sparked an interest and has me intrigued. Plus, it's great to see more scifi back on the channel again. I'm just hoping they're smart enough to give this show a proper chance to thrive.

++ The Borgias S3 promo. The new season looks to be quite exciting, and I can't wait. Especially for Cesare/Lucrezia. I honestly don't care if it's legit or if it's a dream sequence, just them showing all of that in the promo, plus having the tagline, "Only a Borgia can love a Borgia", just leaves me thinking they definitely are heading in that direction. And it just makes me so happy. ♥

++ I've been preparing myself for the new season of Game of Thrones. There's been quite a lot of interviews/sneak peeks, including the three-eyed raven teaser and the generic teaser. Now I'm just anxiously waiting like everyone else for an actual trailer with new footage, and then waiting even more for the season to start for reals. Because I wants it and needs it now. *grabby hands*

Elementary - 1.12 - M )

In other television news, it appears that Alphas has been canceled. I didn't watch the show, but I know others that did. It just makes me wonder how many more shows does Syfy have to kill off before there's no longer any scifi on their channel anymore? Since there's only so many shows left, you know. *sighs*
