SPN: Human Nature of Dean Winchester
May. 28th, 2011 10:58 amI've been watching Battlestar Galactica lately, more specifically the DVD commentaries with Ron Moore because I'm utterly fascinated listening to him speak, as just sort of my way of distracting myself from some of the more distressing parts of fandom. While I was watching and listening, I couldn't help but let my mind wander and there are some things that Ron Moore discusses that made me pause and reflect on particular things.
Mostly, it had me reevaluate my thoughts and current feelings about Supernatural.
( This is where I start rambling and trying to articulate what goes on in my head as I'm trying to make sense out of things )
Forgive if this is all over the place, I'm just vomiting my thoughts. I've just been trying to make sense out of things I've been confused and angered by with this show. And of course, BSG always comes to the rescue whenever I need to step back and think about those kinds of things. Leave it to a gritty political opera in space to settle my mind on something like this, lol.

Forgive if this gets a little emotional, but after this episode I can't help but feel a little lengthy in reviewing certain aspects and being analytical about things. I had plenty to mull over and to really evaluate, but even after writing this I still feel like I need to discuss more to sort out my feelings about this one. Because this episode...God, this episode got to me. This is why I get so worked up over fictional character that I am so emotionally invested in, dammit.
( Let me tell you my story....let me tell you everything. )
By far my favorite episode of this whole season, hands down. Epic creys with major heartache and all. I love it. ♥

Meta: An Ideal Supernatural Series Finale
Mar. 10th, 2011 07:09 pmRegardless on whatever the fate of this show might be, cancellation or renewal, I do have a few scenarios of my ideal ending for the series finale. Or rather how the last shot of the entire show should be, since everyone knows my ideal series finale battle: Apocalypse 2.0 that isn't anticlimactic, unsatisfactory or a huge disappointment like the last one had been, and worth everything that the show was built-up for. But in any case, for the end of the Winchesters story especially I have two specific scenarios on how I want them to go out:
( Carry on my wayward son, there will be peace when you are done... )
As for the fate of Castiel, I see it happening in one of two ways. After the War in Heaven is eradicated, Castiel either goes back to Heaven but still watches over the Winchesters (in either Scenario #1 or Scenario #2) because he is still their friend after all, or Castiel decides to stay on Earth and carry out particular missions and retelling the story of the Winchester legacy. Or something to that effect. It's still being thought out on that one, but I definitely believe that Castiel will continue to be in contact with Dean and Sam no matter what happens.
Highly doubtful any of this will happen, since the show and I aren't communicating well these days. Nonetheless, this is how my ideal endgame for show plays out inside of my head, and that's how it should be done imo.
What are your thoughts or particular ideas for the series finale, oh dear flist? How would it go and what would it contain, perfect ending or bittersweet? Satisfactory or open-ended? I am genuinely curious on what other people think.

( Where Death and Tessa seriously need to be Dean's sassy gay friends... )
I actually had thinky-thoughts instead of raging capslocks, and that's a good sign. Step up from the previous episode that we can all pretend never fucking existedbrainbleachplz. Have to wait until January 28th to see how the second half of the season does, and I'm praying it actually gets shit done because I'm tired of feeling frustrated with this show.
Also, yes, thanks to
kaiyote for that plotbunny suggestion, I want Tessa and Death to appear more often as Dean (and Castiel's) sassy gay friends. It's perfect, and there needs to be fic of this stat. ;p

( You'd sell your brother for a dollar right now if you really needed a soda. )
Also, is it just me or have the episode titles for this show this season kind of risen to ridiculous levels? Between these, the official show score song titles and the new promos they have out now (you know, the over-photoshopped and airbrushed AU!promo), I somehow feel like it's become a parody of itself. I don't mind that the show is finally getting more publicity and all but, idk. It feels rather weird to me.
Anyone remember these promotional photoshoots from like the earlier seasons, or even this fantastic S1 promo? Whatever happened to having those, huh? Variety CW, we need some.

Furthermore, aside from hearing Misha Collins' voiceover before the episode began (\O/ our bb is getting publicity hallelujah!), I read in an article somewhere that it was actually Mark Sheppard's idea for him to not be featured in the opening credits because he knew fans would appreciate being surprised right along Sam and Dean. He's one sly, smart man that Mark Sheppard, and I love him for it. ♥
