I like Scifi, not Syfy.

++ Natalie Dormer has been cast as Cressida in Mockingjay! Delightful news and excellent casting, in my opinion. Get dem roles, girl. ♥

++ The soundtrack for Caprica finally arrived the other day, two-disc and autographed booklet and all, thereby completing pretty much everything of my BSG media collection. Which makes me sad that there won't be anymore, but proud because I am such a geek about this universe it's actually ridiculous. Anyway, the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous, as usual with anything Bear McCreary does. Next on the list: get the Defiance soundtrack.

++ And because I want to torture myself, I've been looking at all of the Warehouse 13 interviews with all of the cast and creators talking about the final season (or rather final six episodes), and Eddie has been updating his Twitter with pictures and things on their final days shooting and it's kind of heartbreaking. They all thought they would have had at least a little more time, at least more than six episodes. But I think my favorite person in interviews has to be Joanne Kelly, because she both gushes and expresses her genuine love of the show and the characters and her appreciation and gratitude towards the fans. Especially in this interview from SDCC where she talks about Myka and her arc, and discusses things like about Myka's sexuality and her relationship with Helena. Something I wish the show had more time exploring, tbh. But my favorite is this particular interview where, aside from her discussing the love she has for the show and why it's amazing, she gives the most appropriate shade towards Syfy, and it's frakking hilarious and brilliant.

All the actors seem to be in that place of both being ready to let things go but still sad and disappointed that they have limited amount of time to wrap things up. It's an emotional time, but some of them are taking it in stride. Joanne seems to be very genuine and honest when it comes to talking about it, and is very hilarious and adorable when doing so. I'm really gonna miss these bunch of goofs.

I don't remember Cressida as a character, but Natalie Dormer is great in GoT, so I support this casting choice. \o/

A lot of people are saying that they don't particularly remember the character that well, either. I think it's one of those roles that is small, but still important. Either way, I'm happy that Natalie got the part. She will no doubt be awesome. :)

Do you mean the television soundtrack, the video game soundtrack, or both? They're both good. I especially like when a theme appears in both of them, like the Volge theme.

I haven't had a chance to watch Warehouse 13 yet, but it did strike me as really weird that Syfy basically made a huge expanded universe that had multiple shows on Syfy in it...and then they went and canceled all of them.

From my understanding, there's this new rule (from NBC/Comcast who owns Syfy) that any original scripted show on the channel can last up to only five seasons. If you're lucky to have survived that long, that is. I don't know how long that has been in effect, but I think it really took stride when they cancelled Eureka, their top-rated hit, and denied them the sixth season they were promised, thus creating a huge uproar from fans. Alphas got cancelled rather quickly too, and now Warehouse 13, another strong success, doesn't even have a full season to wrap everything up. It's ridiculous and stupid and completely unfair.

And yeah, they definitely had a plan when they created these shows to have them exist in the same universe, for future crossovers and whatnot. But whatever NBC/Comcast is gambling with in choosing the "next big thing" *cough* endless reality programs and sharknado sequels *cough*, these shows unfortunately suffered the consequences of those decisions. :(

See, that's just weird and doesn't make sense at all. If a show is doing well enough to have five seasons and also has a strong following, then shouldn't you be more inclined to keep it around instead of canceling everything left and right?

Urgh, I get that Syfy likes to do their funny in a omg this is awful sort of way, but canceling your own scifi shows that have a big following on a channel that's supposed to be scifi? Like, it just strikes me as a really bad idea.

ITA, it really doesn't make sense, both logically and as a business move in general. It has ruined many potentially awesome shows from thriving, and so many amazing shows with dedicated loyal followings in the process.

It makes me miss the good old days of Scifi Channel (even though I heard they had their own issues back then as well, but not so much as these days with all this new hoopla going on, tbh.) :/

Yeah, the old Scifi channel wasn't exactly the greatest thing around, but I don't remember them ever going around and prematurely canceling shows that were doing well for no particular reason, especially ones they were setting up to be something more :|

hmmm interesting about natalie dormer. i willl probably have to read mockingjay again because right now while i remember who cressida was i don't remember anything about her character, really.

She basically followed Katniss around with a camera and getting footage of the rebellion, and the character is described to have a shaved head with tattoos. So people are wondering if Natalie is going to be shaving her head for the role or not.
