2025 is upon us. Let us hope that despite current events that we will make the most of it, the best we can, for ourselves and those around us.

++ I will be partaking in this year's [community profile] snowflake_challenge. I'll just wait a bit before at least a good portion of the prompts are available.

++ Learning that that apparently Netflix tells writers to have character announce what they're doing in order for people who aren't actively watch the television to follow along is just one of the many issues with a lot of Netflix-produced shows and movies. Reading the linked article really gives perspective of how fucked the Netflix streaming model is with its produced programing, and it goes beyond just the "tell, don't show" strategy. I've seen others say that streaming has become a "content farm", and it's true. It's less about creative storytelling and more about producing more or less and discarding it immediately to move onto the next thing. Over the years it's become clear that the current streaming model isn't sustainable at least when it comes to the creative freedom of telling stories and being innovative, and this just further confirms it.

++ I became aware of Guardians of the Dafeng because of some gifsets featuring a very silly and fluffy Wang Hedi, and knowing that not only is it a comedy but it's also a transmigration story, it makes so much sense given the limited information and context I got from those gifsets. I don't know if I'll be watching necessarily, but at least he's having the time of his life and I'm here for it.

(Also yes, I have entertained the thought of there being a crossover with Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, since both have modern day transmigrators it would be hilarious to see Ling Miaomiao and Xu Qi'an interact and the shenanigans that would follow.)

In light of The Force Awakens excitement, here is a Star Wars Friending Meme to help rejuvenate the fandom, plus a 2016 Friending Meme to gather some new friends just in time for the new year.

As I look back at 2015, it just went by so quickly. Then again, that seems to occur far more frequent than it should for me. But this year, despite some of the difficult moments I went through early on, was kind of a reflection on myself a bit, what I've been doing (or lack thereof) and how to approach the oncoming new year with a bit of vigorous determination and dedication to fulfill my life better. I have learned that even the smallest incidents that seem big in the moment will eventually heal with time and patience. I have learned that I shouldn't let my anxiety run my life, which I plan on fixing in the new year. Fandom-wise, I have gained a lot of new fandoms, a lot of new fandom friends and online friendships in general, which I am entirely grateful for each and every one of you. (っ⌒‿⌒)っ

Aside from going out to eat with family and family friends, I have nothing extravagant planned for tonight. I'm hoping that 2016 will become a better year, for myself and for everyone else.

My highlight of 2011? Believe it or not, Dragon*Con and seeing Tom Felton in person and having that little "boo-yah" moment. There were many things that this year provided that I enjoyed, but nothing can top that. Well, perhaps meeting Amber Benson at her book signing comes in second. ;) In general though, this last year has been rather neutral for me, it was neither a good year or a bad year, just a meh year with little surprises here and there. So, here's to a brand new (and hopefully better) year! With possible employment in my near future, yeah? *crosses fingers*

[livejournal.com profile] oh_whimsical? I GOT YOUR CHRISTMAS CARD, YOU ARE SUCH A DARLING AND SO SWEET. NOT GONNA LIE I GRINNED LIKE A LOON READING IT. ILU TOO, BB. ♥ ♥ ♥

By the way, does anyone know what happened to [livejournal.com profile] downfall35?

After finishing (sadly) Caprica via the DVD set, and being further impressed more and more by the finale as I rewatch it because damn it is good, and moving onto not only listening to the commentary but doing the same with the Dollhouse DVDs, I had forgotten that some of my shows were returning this week! Pretty Little Liars resumes on Monday and V returns on Tuesday! \O/ I know some others are returning too, I'll have to look at a schedule. I can't wait for The Cape's mid-season premiere, yay Summer Glau!

It feels odd, doesn't it? It feels like 2010 had just arrived and suddenly it's 2011. I don't know whether I should be concerned about time going by quickly.....

Also, I don't normally do resolutions for the new year, mostly because I rarely if ever keep them. However I do plan on making some adjustments regarding this journal. Nothing serious so don't worry! It's just my way of arranging things such as topic for discussion, adding more variety into the mix since I know most of what I talk about some people on my flist aren't even a participant on and somehow I feel like I'm being dismissive of them. I would like to also reconnect with many people on my friendslist who I haven't chatted with in a while, either by drifting apart fandom-wise or whatever. I don't want to exclude anyone, and if you've felt that way I feel kind of bad about that. So if we haven't chatted in a while please, feel free to drop by and say hey or something of the like.

Seems strange that while everyone is celebrating the new year and making resolutions, I am here treating it like any other day. Aside from my capslocky announcement last night that's all the celebration I did. That and hearing the loud firecrackers outside. But yes, it is officially 2009 and there's much to look forward to, at least for me. I will be graduating in the spring and starting my externship while will be a stepping stone for my future. That there is all the anticipation for the year I need. Everything else that follows is a blessing. I believe resolutions are lifetime goals, not just new year goals, since everyone's goals and dedications change overtime, and having a good year is what you make of it.

I saw Misha Collins in an episode of CSI recently, where he's playing kind of a bad boy and speaking in a Russian accent. I'm not ashamed to admit I squeed.

Oh, there's the Seven Deadly Sins Week on the History Channel which I've been watching, along with their History of Sex programs, and next week is Armageddon Week. Along with that, TSCC, BSG and SPN, there seems to be a theme here which coincides with the 2012 prophecies. That or I'm just really interested in dystopian, biblical and apocalyptic kinds of material.

Remember the Filipino!Twilight I mentioned before? Apparently it's not true, it was all a hoax. Dammit. I would've loved a televised version of the sparkling vampires, simply to see if they improve the storytelling by making it more entertaining and less headdesking and watching that fandom go berserck. But the latter remains, unfortunately, as the racial slurs and bigotry of the rapid Twilighters continues. It's amazing to see their true colors come out, eh? *shakes head*

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Saying farewell to 2005 and welcoming the brand new year of 2006. Wow, has this past year gone by quickly or what? At least it seems that way to me, as if feels just like yesterday I was waiting for Serenity to arrive in the theaters and now it's suddenly New Years Day! Huh. Odd, eh?

I wish everyone out there a wonderful and safe evening of fun celebration! Careful not to get too drunk, now. Hopefully nobody has turned into wacky space monkeys and being all whirly-crazy, destructing property and acting like such babbling, bumbling bunch of baboons; and I certainly hope no one has turned into that slurring assholic guy drunker than a sailor and peeing on everybody's shoes....'cause that's one way to ruin a great time of fun. Anyways, have an amazing New Years celebration! ;)
