Seems strange that while everyone is celebrating the new year and making resolutions, I am here treating it like any other day. Aside from my capslocky announcement last night that's all the celebration I did. That and hearing the loud firecrackers outside. But yes, it is officially 2009 and there's much to look forward to, at least for me. I will be graduating in the spring and starting my externship while will be a stepping stone for my future. That there is all the anticipation for the year I need. Everything else that follows is a blessing. I believe resolutions are lifetime goals, not just new year goals, since everyone's goals and dedications change overtime, and having a good year is what you make of it.

I saw Misha Collins in an episode of CSI recently, where he's playing kind of a bad boy and speaking in a Russian accent. I'm not ashamed to admit I squeed.

Oh, there's the Seven Deadly Sins Week on the History Channel which I've been watching, along with their History of Sex programs, and next week is Armageddon Week. Along with that, TSCC, BSG and SPN, there seems to be a theme here which coincides with the 2012 prophecies. That or I'm just really interested in dystopian, biblical and apocalyptic kinds of material.

Remember the Filipino!Twilight I mentioned before? Apparently it's not true, it was all a hoax. Dammit. I would've loved a televised version of the sparkling vampires, simply to see if they improve the storytelling by making it more entertaining and less headdesking and watching that fandom go berserck. But the latter remains, unfortunately, as the racial slurs and bigotry of the rapid Twilighters continues. It's amazing to see their true colors come out, eh? *shakes head*

My New Year's Day was spent asleep.... completely and utterly asleep... then when I finally did wake up at 7pm, I walked to Sainsbury to buy groceries, then drank coffee, and watched some random Scifi Channel movie about Aztecs starring Michael Shanks and JR Bourne. SUCH a pointless day!!!

Aww, I wouldn't call it pointless necessarily. It's winter break, you're supposed to have lazy days, right? I'm finding out I'm sleeping in more often and I need to get back to my regular sleep schedule for next week.

It's winter break - I have 9000 words to write, two presentations to prepare for, and a group project to start all for Jan 16th!! ARGH!

*hugs you* Sorry to hear that, bb. I start a new "semester" at mine, which means new material. But why do teachers always assign so much work during breaks anyway? That happened to me at Thanksgiving which, okay, it was doable, but seriously. It's a freaking holiday. Give us students a break.

I NEED TO WATCH KARLA! I've heard interesting things about it, though idk if I wanna risk seeing my precious angel being a really bad boy. XD

They really are terrifying. I'm just all O_o at some of the things I hear about what insane shenanigans they're up to. *hides with you*

I can upload it if you like, Misha is not a nice person in it though, just be warned
He is talented though, he does it well, to his credit, and Im sure it would have been hard to do that stuff

Thank would be awesome if you did. :)

I figured he wouldn't be judging by what it's about and who he plays, but I'm interested nonetheless. You're right, his acting range is through the roof by what I've seen of some of his other works. Very talented man, he is.

I haven't really celebrated either. I slept really late, downloaded/watched some movies, watched TV and then read some fic. (I did see a dream about me being The Final Cylon or whatever that was so, lol that was great though. Apart from the part where all my classmates died etc. And how much of a Mary Sue I was because umm, hello! Mohinder is The Final Cylon.) So anyway, kind of boring.

I want to watch more documentaries and stuff like that but looks like there isn't anything interesting on television at the moment. I'm kind of excited about one channel starting to show some National Geographic stuff next Sunday, though. I love watching these things.

Hee! Awesome dream, though yes, Mohinder is totes the Final Cylon. Trufax. ;)

It seems everyone's been having a lazy kind of day. I slept in too, though I really shouldn't. I need to start waking up earlier so I can get back into the rhythm for school. Heh.

I find those kinds of programs very intriguing. I find all things related to such subjects interesting (hence my squee when the whole Apocalypse and Heaven and angels got introduced in SPN S4, like seriously). I also liked such programs like History of Sex through various eras, Victorian, Roman, Greek, etc, since in this day and age where sex sells and is everywhere we hardly talk about it. At least not as much as we should.

It is very sexy, because HE is very sexy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91tKYxofOHU). Rawr. :D

HEE! We'd have a marathon of them, yayz! Seriously, I love watching/reading about that kind of stuff. It's very interesting.

Yeah, they're still wanking about it, mainly just being unconsciously racist with their comments about how casting Asians as Edward or Bella would "ruin the characters" and it would be horrible and blahblahblah. Leave it to the rapid fangirls to be so incredibly illogical and stupid.

He really is. ♥

ITA about ethnic people playing the characters. I've watched many Asian dramas and believe me, the story of Twilight would fit perfectly in that medium for television (which many think it's a "remake"; biatches plz, if only one could rewrite remake Twilight). I dislike the blatant racist comments made over at that fandom. Oh well, I'm just waiting for the epic Bollywood version, or any Asian-version because with the unfortunate popularity the series has gotten recently it's bound to happen. Hee!

I watched the ball drop in NYC from the comfort of my living room and stayed up till 4AM. That was a mistake. I spent today with my best friend.

there's the Seven Deadly Sins Week on the History Channel

I took a quiz of which Circle of Hell I'd be in, and I got the Fifth Circle, wrath.

I watched the History of Sex specials a long time ago, unless they updated them. They were interesting. Heh.

unfortunately, as the racial slurs and bigotry of the rapid Twilighters continues

There's always that group of crazies in every fandom and it shouldn't surprise us, really, like when people were pissed that Blaise in Harry Potter wasn't the pale, emo, Italian mafia affiliated pureblood they wished he was.. Yeah, like Italian = mafia isn't a stereotype. *rolls eyes*

Apparently there's still some people around here that set off HUGEASS firecrackers like every hour after midnight. It was a tad annoying, and kept upsetting our poor doggie.

I don't know what category I'd be in, perhaps Pride. I have no clue whether those specials were updated, all I know is that I hadn't seen them before and they were very interesting.

You're right, it shouldn't surprise us and we shouldn't expect less from them. And yet, whenever they're up to their batshittery shenanigans I can't help but headdesk as the sheer idiocy.

Aww, your poor dog. My sister's dog freaks out too.

I think it's because we're semi-sane that we still get surprised. I actually recently saw the new journals of the Snapewives and although I've read the wank, their batshittery still made me go D:.

It's not as bad as the first time we got her like a few years ago. It was her first New Years and once the fireworks starting popping she literally freaked out, whining continuously and we found her hiding in one of the back rooms shaking. :(

Let's be glad we're of the saner parts of fandom and not of the crazies. I don't think either of us could handle being around any one of those people without punching something.

Oh... my gosh. I'm totally watching the Seven Deadly Sins with my parents this week, lol! Tonight is Greed~~

omg, goat testicles curing sloth, fthewhat?

I thought you might not do resolutions~~ and I used to be that way, too... but this year, I was just in the mood, lol! And I always want to shed a few pounds, lol! New Years is just an excuse!!! *flails*

LOL! I wanted to see the Filipino version, if only to laugh and only look at screencaps, lol! I can't believe people are showing racism about it... bleah.

Hee! Have you seen the History of Sex specials? Also very intriguing stuff. Though I'm really looking forward to next week, which is all about the various predictions for the coming Apocalypse. Very upbeat these programs, aren't they? ;p

Good for you for making resolutions. I don't mind if others do, I just have a different mindset in believing that while you make a goal now, it may change further into the year.

I know, right? The racism makes me enraged. It's like really, we've settled back into that kind of attitude now? I know many are like "I'm not racist, but..." which is the classic defense for anyone making a racist statement but doesn't want to be judged or labeled a racist. I'm sure most aren't, but how they're wording their claims and such it's the impression they're giving off. Besides, an Asian version of Twilight would be epic and awesome. Why are they so quick to refuse something like that? Srsly. I don't get it.

I watched one... the one about stuffing codpieces with sawdust to look erect >.>

I'm not a big future-apocalypse girl, myself... but sins and lust~ yes please! lol ^.^

I know ;.; I feel that these are ones that I will actually be able to (reasonably) keep, though... and are just good for me, lol. But, doesn't everybody resolve to lose weight on Jan 1st? lol!

>.> You know how many racist comments I hear, just in my family >.> Some people I can understand where their racism comes from, like my grandparents who were under Jim Crow and whose parents told them that non-whites were below them and who grew up like that... but now? Where do these ideas come from in such a time as this??

LOL. I think I remember that one.

Heh, almost everyone does have "lose weight" on their resolutions list, but most of the time not everyone keeps that goal completely. What I learned in health class long ago was that post-New Years health clubs and gyms are packed with people wanting to lose weight, but weeks and months pass those people stop attending or whatever. It's because most can't keep up with that committment.

But I'm cheering you on with your goals, girl! :D

but now? Where do these ideas come from in such a time as this??

I honestly don't know. Racism is everywhere though, in all forms, and in certain parts of the world racism and discrimination will continue to be in their lifestyle, unfortunately. But here, in the States, we shouldn't be having that problem especially for the younger generation. Granted I know most of those people are just saying things just to state their stance as I mentioned, but it doesn't give them the right to be so cruel in their words or implications.
