++ It has finally begun. The preparation for the Desolation of Smaug which comes out next week! Monday was the world premiere, and since then there's been a slew of interviews, press junkets, and just other promotional goodies. This also includes some official clips (which I haven't watched simply because I'm waiting for the film itself, though I have seen pics/gifs of the one with Thorin and Bard in Laketown and my face broke out in a huge smile because aslkfd;asdf), plus a new production video, and a B-roll behind-the-scene video (which does contain some spoilers, but it's really fascinating to watch simply for the process of how they film scenes.) I'm just, so overwhelmed I feel like I might spontaneously combust from excitement. ♥

I've just hit that fangirl mode and it ain't stopping, and come next Thursday night I will be unstoppable with my squee. Sorry not sorry. ;)

Even though it was yesterday, it's my philosophy that the holidays remain until the end of the year. ;)

Christmas was the same, only with a little extra stress on my end on getting things in order (shopping shenanigans, almost all my Christmas lights were burnt out or causing trouble so the hassle of getting new ones and finding none was hectic and stupid), but all in all it was the regular traditions: Christmas Eve with my mom, Christmas Day with my dad, having home-cooked meals and opening presents on both days. It's the usual mellow holiday celebration for us. Got my haul of presents, including a lot of DVDs, books (why isn't Catching Fire in paperback yet? Like seriously...), a TARDIS mug, the Caprica pilot soundtrack, the BSG piano solo soundtrack, and other goodies. Watched A Muppet Christmas Carol on the Eve and watched the Doctor Who Christmas special on the Day and I'd say it was a rather nice all around. Quiet, laidback, but lovely all the same. I'm hoping everyone else's was just as wonderful.

I sent my cards a little later than I intended, just about a week ago, so I hope people got theirs or are getting theirs before the year ends.

++ In the midst of finding new fandoms to get attached to, I've come across one that has surprised me. Pretty Little Liars. Has anyone else watched this season so far? It's good, like really good. I haven't read the books, but I really like it so far and the show really does great with the mysteries and the characters and their relationships. I definitely recommend it for those who like teen dramas that have mysteries. Also, alexwhitman25? I downloaded all of the first season of The Vampire Diaries and will be starting that soon after I finish with Pretty Little Liars. I've also been catching up on the new Hawaii 5-0 and I also like that, too. It's your typical procedural crime show of course, but with Daniel Dae Kim and the lovely Grace Park. Seeing more Asians on my television is a good thing, I mean they had Dichen Lachman in one of the previous episodes. How awesome is that? \O/

++ I also rewatched the third season of Veronica Mars and....I don't understand the negativity people had for it. I thought it was way better than the second season, and actually felt like the first season writing/acting wise, and I'm happy where it ended off, inconclusive probably but with the relationships of characters it was nice, and Veronica had gotten her groove back. So I don't understand the amount of hate it got.

++ Reading articles like this and this make me really pissed off and bitter about what happened with Caprica. For a network that says they are behind the BSG franchise, nothing of what they've done supports such a claim at all. It disappoints and infuriates me, it also makes me even more adamant in fighting against it.

++ HARRY FREAKING POTTER THIS FRIDAY! OMGOMGOMG.

It is almost finally here! Anyone going to the midnight showing? Unfortunately I cannot, however I will be planning on going this weekend for sure and I most certainly am going to be buying a midnight ticket when Part 2 comes out next year. *shaking and crying*

++ Speaking of Christmas, CHRISTMAS SHOPPING MAKES ME HAPPY! Okay, so today I just went out and didn't buy anything yet, still have to pay my credit card bill before the crazy shopping begins, but I don't have to purchase anything to enjoy the wonders of the holiday shopping. I don't know if I'm just weird or whatever, but even with the earliness of stores putting up their Christmas sales it just makes me very happy. I can wander through those sections of stores and malls, being surrounded by all the Christmasy decorations and the music and glittering ornaments, I don't know what it is but it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

This is why Christmas is my favorite holiday of the entire year. It fills me with utter happiness that it doesn't matter what's happening in my life, I always tend to smile. :D

++ FIC REC: Where Ask is Have, Where Seek is Find by ariadnes_string. It's a coda for SPN 5.08 with Dean and Castiel, and I just, oh, I love this. It's short, but sweet, and really gets a certain satisfactory feeling about that ending, if you will. ♥

++ I'm kinda shifting my icons right now, I'm in a happy mood. I'm going for some cutesy icons, mainly dealing with Castiel, Dean/Castiel and Victor/Sierra, and just happy fluffy things. I don't know, could be the effect of the holiday season, but whatever. I'm in a happy mood, therefore happy icons to make me more happy! :D :D :D
