Day 14 - A scene that makes you happy

With such a dark and depressing episode and Dean seeing the disastrous outcome of things of a future he must prevent, I think seeing him returning to the present and realizing how much he values his friendship and companionship with Castiel as he is just makes my heart swell. It's something about Dean seeing Castiel as the angel who sacrificed so much, who is with him the entire time fighting side-by-side with him, and acknowledges and appreciates this fact by telling Castiel, "don't ever change." This is something that Dean rarely does to anyone, and the fact that he did it in this scene is amazing. I just, I cannot fathom how many times I have watched that scene and it made me smile like a loon. I can't help it. ♥

Seriously, just look at the way they're looking at each other. *draws hearts all around them* just kiss already dammit!

Runner up is "A Very Supernatural Christmas" because first of all, it was a Christmas episode and I'm a sucker for those. Second, it featured flashbacks to wee!chesters and that was so touching, giving more light to the brotherly relationship between Sam and Dean and, of course, that heartwarming ending. Showing that you don't need some huge show to express the holiday spirit. Newspaper-wrapped convenience store bought presents and homemade eggnog will is all it takes, especially if you're spending it with people you love and care about. :)

Rest of the 30 Days of Supernatural Challenge.

Sera Gamble can go eat shit. Someone needs to fire her ass, I swear. -__-

I WILL BE HAPPY IF THE SHOW ENDS WITH DEAN AND CASTIEL DECLARING THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER BY LOCKING THEIR LIPS IN A PASSIONATE KISS (OR A MEANINGFUL HUG, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST ;P)

I know. I mean, at times, she gives us moments where it seems like she understands us, and then she does some stupid stuff like makes them fight. GAH...

It's a hug, that leads to a passionate kiss, that leads to The Sex, which then leads to a spin off of those two.

And not just that, but she clearly doesn't understand the value of characterization or the story as a whole. It's like she does whatever because she can, and that's not good. Kripke, you need to take back the reigns or give them to someone else because Gamble is running the show into the ground, like seriously. :/

YES YES YES, I HIGHLY APPROVE OF THIS PLAN. :D

That's definitely true. I mean, if anything, give the show over to Edlund because I feel like he actually knows the characters well enough to write them. My favorite Castiel episodes have been written by him. Here's to hoping that Gamble's taken all of our complaints from the first half and fixed it in the second.

It's a really good plan. I don't see a downside to it. :)

Pfft, I doubt she listens to anything the fans are saying. She's pretty much the most hated writer on the entire crew from what I've observed, and everyone went in an outrage when it was mentioned she would be the showrunner this season. I highly doubt she listens to any complaints and dismisses them completely.

I consider her the Stephanie Meyer of the show.

She needs to start listening to the fans. I mean, Kripke did, right? Just give the show to Ben... I mean, when they said that the show was going back to basics, I was hoping that everyone would still be there.

Ouch... I mean, she had a few good moments? Not as many as the other writers, but a few.

Kripke definitely took fan opinions into account, sometimes a little too often, but he definitely understood what fans liked and didn't like (in terms of how fans reacted to certain characters, for example). I definitely do want them to hand the show over the Edlund. Some think Kripke handed it to Gamble because she was there from the beginning, but I'd rather have the show run by someone who understands it than someone who doesn't.

She did have a few good moments, but not enough to be on the good side of things, in all honesty. She just needs to gtfo for good, imo. :/

I vote for Ben. Because he can write Castiel, and he can do both humor and drama.

It's good that Kripke understood fans and gave us what we wanted. Sometimes too much? And in giving the show to Sera, at least it shows that Kripke understands loyalty.

Agreed. :)

I wonder if Kripke realizes that his choice in "loyalty" is ruining his show.

I thought that he still had his hand in whatever was going on with the show. Like he'd be overseeing everything. I don't think he'd be okay with this happening to his baby... :(

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I don't know the exact rules for backseat navigation or overseeing of what is going on. I heard he's working on a movie right now, but I could be wrong.

Though it makes me think when Joss wasn't in full creative control and running BTVS during S6 everything went downhill, perhaps this is the same case?

Oh, well that's good that he has a movie he's working on. I'm not sure about the overseeing either.

That is a really interesting thought. The season six curse? Hm...

It seems to be, many shows have suffered from it if they get to their sixth season. It makes me wonder why though. New showrunners? Creative shift? Nice ideas, horrible execution of them? All of the above? idk...
