HARRY POTTER

My favorite female character: Luna Lovegood
My favorite male character: Outside of Harry himself, it would be a tie between Draco Malfoy and Sirius Black.
My favorite book/season/etc: Prisoner of Azakaban, both the book and the movie. It is probably the best of the entire series, imho.
My favorite cast member: I'm going to have to say Tom Felton, because he's been incredibly supportive of the fanbase all these years later, going to conventions and the like. He seems to genuinely love the fans and fandom as a whole. I mean, all of the cast seem pretty appreciative of HP, but I think Tom really just embraces the fandom and I think that's really cool.
My favorite ship/OTP: Harry/Draco, forever my OTP.
A character I’d die defending: There are several, actually. Draco Malfoy is a character I love because he was a little shit and ended up realizing the harsh reality of what he was in the middle of, and what his family was a part of. I don't like it when people try to villainize him or try to woobify him, and I'll defend his character from these mischaracterizations. The second character I'll defend is Cho Chang, because, well, she suffered a lot of hate back in the day (mostly due to the internalized misogyny within fandom) and the racism, both from fans and JKR herself. Cho Chang deserved better.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Snape
A character I grew to love: I don't really know?
My anti ship: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny. Pretty much most of the canon ships in the series never made sense to me, as a lot of them were just pushed together as an afterthought.

Me too.

Cho Chang deserved better.

I agree. If I weren't working on original stuff right now, and if I thought there would be enough readership, I would honestly write OoTP from her POV. (I have a whole headcanon that she goes on to become a grief counselor for Muggles, which is how she meets her Muggle husband - he's a fellow psychiatrist or something along those lines.)

But yeah, I honestly feel bad for Cho. Her boyfriend dies, her best friend (presumably anyway) doesn't really want to fight against the people who killed him, instead caving to propaganda, she can't relate to the guy she fancies, who just happens to have been with her boyfriend when he died, her best friend betrays the guy she fancies (and her other DA friends)... I think we were meant to see Cho's side, but ultimately Cho's written as less sympathetic than I find her to really be.

I can't really sympathize with Snape either. I don't hate him, I think he did good things and actually like him as a character, but I don't get the fandom's love and adoration for him. Nor why we had to have Albus named partly after him. Siiigh.

: Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny. Pretty much most of the canon ships in the series never made sense to me, as a lot of them were just pushed together as an afterthought.

See, I think they were so clearly planned from the beginning! But hey, that's just me. :) I will say that I think they could've been built up a little better. Especially Harry and Ginny.

THE EXPANSE

My favorite female character: Camina Drummer! With Bobbie Draper coming in close second. But really, there are so many that it's difficult to choose. They're all so brilliant.
My favorite male character: Josephus Miller
My favorite book/season/etc: Oh man, this one is tough, because I really have enjoyed all the seasons of the show so far. I think I have to give some love to the first season, since it is what got me into the show in the first place, and I know some people view the first season as rather slow as opposed to how things pick up in S2 and S3, but I just really loved that season so much. And I also have to give a shoutout to the fourth season, because it had S1 vibes with being more of a foundation of what is to come, and that season was just on a whole other level of fantastic, storytelling and production-wise, and with seeing how far the characters have come since the first season. But really, the entire show as a whole is utterly fantastic.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): Again, this one is hard! But I loved the second season episode, "Home", because, well, it was very beautiful and emotional for obvious reasons. The two-part S3 finale was absolutely mind-blowing and perfect, as well. It worked on so many levels as a season finale, so much action and tension.
My favorite cast member: ALL OF THEM. They are all so great, I can't choose a favorite. They clearly love the show, love the fans, love the story and are just so lovely and engaging. :)
My favorite ship/OTP: Julie/Miller.
A character I’d die defending: There really hasn't been a character that I think needs defending on this series, since all the characters are so multifaceted and interesting that, even if you disagree or dislike the actions they take, the way they're written and portrayed makes you appreciate them regardless. I haven't seen anyone hate or disregard any character within the fandom, so that's a good sign.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Because of the recent season, Marco Inaros.
A character I grew to love: James Holden. Admittedly, when I started the show I didn't really like him that much, his character seemed emotionally impulsive and rather naive, however as the show continued on I grew more and more fond of him and now I cannot imagine not loving him.
My anti ship: None that I can think of.

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER

My favorite female character: Faith Lehane
My favorite male character: Rupert Giles, Oz
My favorite book/season/etc: Season three will always remain my favorite. It was the season that introduced me to the show, since it was airing at the time when I discovered it. It's probably the best season of the whole series, imho.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): GAH, this is hard. I could literally do a list of my favorite episodes from this show. But, for the sake of this, the first one that comes to mind is "Bad Girls" from season three.
My favorite cast member: Eliza Dushku
My favorite ship/OTP: Buffy/Angel, Faith/Buffy
A character I’d die defending: Dawn Summers. It still amazes me that she got so much hate, and still does to this day. I just don't understand it. Like, Dawn got so much intense hate from the fandom that it really puzzles me. Dawn went through some traumatic shit, she was lost and confused about the things she discovered about herself, and to top all of that off, she was acting just like any teenage younger sister would. I identified with her a lot and seeing people basically hate on her for acting her age really bothered me. And it's not like she never grew and matured, she did. She had some great character development in the later seasons. So yeah, I'll always defend Dawn.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Riley.
A character I grew to love: Cordelia. I never disliked her, but after many rewatches combined with her development on Angel, I grew to really love and appreciate Cordelia more on her seasons of BTVS, especially when you realize that despite how her character was outwardly portrayed at times she really did care about Buffy and Co. Just, in her own way.
My anti ship: Spike/Buffy. I also don't like Willow/Tara in S6, Tara deserved better tbh.

It's probably the best season of the whole series, imho.

I think so too. I'd say the back half of S2 and season three are really what people think of when they think of Buffy. The other seasons are good, but S3 was where the show really kicked it into high gear. Part of me even thinks the show should've just ended there, although I'm also glad it didn't.

Faith/Buffy

I mean, of course. Well, not of course, I'm sure a lot of people don't ship them - and hey, that's fine! But when I was watching season three, with absolutely NO fandom exposure or influence whatsoever, I was like "... so they're a thing, right?" I listen to two Buffy podcasts, and all four hosts (two per podcast) agree that at the very least, Faith was into Buffy.

but after many rewatches combined with her development on Angel, I grew to really love and appreciate Cordelia more on her seasons of BTVS,

Same here. You can really see AtS Cordy even on Buffy. Also, I always forget how quickly Cordelia started becoming a Scooby - I always thought it was mid season 2, but by mid season 1 she's like "okay, you guys know what's the what, and I need your help." She's also a fun take on the popular-girl-turned-nice trope, since she never really becomes nice, nor is she ever really on the fence? She just plays by her own rules, and when she realizes she's not playing by her own rules, starts changing course. Cordelia rocks, and I really LOATHE what AtS did to her character in the end.

I never really got behind Spike and Buffy.

I liked Willow/Tara, but I think they needed a LOT more unpacking. However, Joss wanted to kill Tara off. *Sigh* I think if he'd let her live, and given Willow a dark turn for other reasons, seeing Willow try to get back into Tara's good graces could've been interesting in S7. Even if they didn't end up a couple again - just staying friends and let each of them find happiness elsewhere. But I can also see Tara growing as a person in her own right during Willow's turn/absence, and then finding each other again. Just... yeah, Willow was awful to Tara in season six. Which was obviously the point, but it was hard to watch.

Tara was too good for a show with Joss "doomed characters" Whedon as the creator, honestly.

SUPERNATURAL

(Keep in mind, I stopped watching the show after season six, so I'm only going by what I know from that and some things through osmosis.)

My favorite female character: Jo Harvelle, Ruby 1.0
My favorite male character: Castiel
My favorite book/season/etc: Season four, since it's the season where everything changed in terms of the mythology and direction, the introduction of Castiel and the angels, the concept of the war between Heaven and Hell, and it's where that potential really shined and one I really enjoyed. It's probably the best season of the show, at least based on what I've seen before I stopped watching.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): "On The Head Of A Pin" is the first that comes to mind.
My favorite cast member: Misha Collins
My favorite ship/OTP: Dean/Castiel
A character I’d die defending: Castiel, Charlie, Claire Novak, and Bela Talbot.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Eh, I don't really know, to be honest. There's a lot of unsympathetic characters featured on the show, including the Winchesters depending on how the writers wanted to handle them each episode. It's one of the reasons why it became such a chore to continue watching, tbh.
A character I grew to love: idk

I mostly quit after S10, though I still watch the occasional later episode. It takes a great deal of patience to not quit Supernatural!

Season four is pretty good, one of my favorites. I'm not a big Castiel fan, but On the Head of a Pin is strong episode.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

My favorite female character: Six (any incarnation of), Sharon (Boomer, Athena), Kendra Shaw
My favorite male character: Helo, Gaius Baltar, Sam Anders
My favorite book/season/etc: Season two, I just really loved the flow of the second season, the arcs it featured, it was just a really solid season.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): "Downloaded", perhaps one of the many reasons why I loved the second season was getting an episode from the Cylon's perspective, specifically featuring Caprica Six and Boomer. At that point in the show we didn't really see much from the Cylons and to get an entire episode focused on them was fantastic. It remains one of my top favorite episodes. I also want to mention "Razor", which technically isn't an episode but I consider it part of the show anyway, but I loved seeing an entirely new character and focusing one something different.
My favorite cast member: Oh man, I love them all, but I have to say Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff, especially since I followed them after BSG and where they did their livestreaming sessions and hung out and their charity stuff. I love how they are just really close friends.
My favorite ship/OTP: Six/Gaius, Helo/Athena, Sam/Kara
A character I’d die defending: Boomer. I felt like her character got the rotten end of the deal, both on the show and among the fandom, mostly after everything that happened on the New Caprica arc. But I always sympathized with Boomer in that she just felt lost, she was at a crossroads of not knowing where she belonged anymore, and she felt betrayed and hurt that another Eight basically took her place among the Galactica crew. Even though it wasn't easy for both of them, I feel like the story focused more on Athena than one Boomer and where she was in all of this. I didn't like some places the show took to kind of show this, including her ending in the series finale, but I'll always defend Boomer because I felt like she was just lost and didn't know where she stood anymore.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Helena Cain. I mentioned how I liked "Razor", and that was good for making us understand where her character came from with her decisions, but it didn't make me sympathize with her because of it. It doesn't excuse the actions she took later on.
A character I grew to love: Dee, I didn't dislike her necessarily but I wasn't attached to her character. It wasn't until I rewatched the series multiple times before I realized that, yeah, she deserved better.
My anti ship: Kara/Lee. Which I know is an unpopular opinion since it was quite a popular ship, but I never liked the pairing because I felt they were too toxic for each other. They brought out the worst in one another, and they willingly cheated on their significant others, hurting them, because of their emotions. I also never liked Cally/Tyrol.

DARK ANGEL

My favorite female character: Max Guevara
My favorite male character: Zack, Sketchy
My favorite book/season/etc: The first season is definitely my favorite, and probably the best of the whole show to be honest.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): I could literally just say the entire first season and it would be true, because I loved the majority of the episodes and have never really skipped any of them. It's part of the reason why I loved season one so much, it flowed well episode to episode. But for the sake of it, "411 on the DL" and "Blah Blah Woof Woof".
My favorite cast member: Jessica Alba
My favorite ship/OTP: Zack/Max
A character I’d die defending: Is it odd that I say Max? Because I often feel like whenever people talk about Dark Angel they just want to talk about Jensen Ackles in the second season, not the main character of the show. Max is often overlooked which I find ridiculous. Her character is amazing, and her story is something I latched onto immediately, and seeing people bypass her in favor of another character bothers me and I'll love and defend Max from people who ignore her completely. Furthermore, as for other characters, I've always felt for Brin. Not so much her reprogrammed self, but more of her arc and her tragic story and I felt like despite being recaptured and brainwashed, I always liked if there was a possibility of Max saving her and undoing what Manticore did to her, it would've definitely happened. I actually feel like that would've been a compelling story, of saving her sister who she had to sacrifice to save her life, and saving her again. I don't know. I just feel a lot for Brin, and I just think there was potential with the character that wasn't really truly explored. Same with some of the other X5's.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Renfro and Ames White
A character I grew to love: Normal, which I guess was the point by the end of the series that regardless of his initial behavior and attitude before, he definitely changed his outlook. But I liked that change with his character. It's one of the better moments of the second season.
My anti ship: Alec/Max. I just don't really see it or understand it, to be honest. Also that guy Max was seeing in the second season, like I understood what they were attempting to do (because she couldn't physically be with Logan) but still, it just felt so meh to me.

STAR WARS

(I'm going to be answering this as the SW universe as a whole, including both the movies and shows like The Mandalorian, which has become a recent favorite.)

My favorite female character: Rey
My favorite male character: Han Solo, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin
My favorite book/season/etc: It's hard to really say "favorite", I mean The Force Awakens and Rogue One got me all excited. And I loved the original trilogy, of course. So it's a combination of those.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): With The Mandalorian, "The Sin" and "Redemption" are the most common ones and with good reason because they were so good, and I definitely view them as my favorites. But I will have to say "Sanctuary" and "The Prisoner" also are my favorite episodes, as well.
My favorite cast member: Harrison Ford and Pedro Pascal immediately came to mind, but they're all fantastic.
My favorite ship/OTP: Finn/Rey, Finn/Poe, Finn/Rey/Poe, Din/Omera, Din/Paz
A character I’d die defending: Rey, from dudebros on the Internet who shit on her for no reason and try to come up with shit excuses about why she's a "Mary Sue"; her character arc wasn't the best and poorly planned out, and they could've done her better in the later movies post-TFA, but c'mon. Basically, I could say the entire sequel trilogy characters because they all deserved better than what they got, imho. Finn, Poe, Rose, etc.....
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Kylo Ren/Ben Solo
A character I grew to love: It's less grew to love but more of a grew to appreciate these characters, to be honest. I wasn't exactly fond of the prequel trilogy and I wasn't that attached to the characters initially, but over time I certainly grew to appreciate Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala, especially learning more through fandom osmosis and understanding more about their characters and their journeys.
My anti ship: Rey/Kylo, Din/Cara

GAME OF THRONES

My favorite female character: Daenerys Targaryen
My favorite male character: Oberyn Martell
My favorite book/season/etc: Season one is objectively the best season of the show, it had a great setup.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): The one that comes to mind is the S3 episode "And Now His Watch Is Ended", it shows Dany outsmarting the slavers and gaining the loyalty of the Unsullied. It was a beautiful moment, and one of the many highlights of why I love her so much.
My favorite cast member: Emilia Clarke
My favorite ship/OTP: Dany/happiness, Jaime/Brienne (before, y'know...)
A character I’d die defending: Dany. Even before the dumpster fire that was the eighth season there was some hatred for her character in the fandom, not that much but it was quite persistent that some just wanted to label her a "Mary Sue" character, which it's one thing to criticize the writing and characterization of her, but it's another to just hate on her while not doing the same thing to any other character that got the same treatment via the writing. And of course post-series finale, well, that needs to explanation. I'll always stand by Dany, and I'll always defend her. I'm happy most feel the same way. Shame the showrunners don't give a fuck.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Tyrion, Cersei, Joffrey, Ramsay Bolton, the list goes on....
A character I grew to love: Jorah Mormont. The show version of him is way more likable than in the books, because while he does love Dany he isn't shown to have an obsession with her. He loves her and is loyal to her, right until the end, and it made me love that dynamic and that relationship between them so much more in the show.
My anti ship: Jon/Sansa.

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE

(Keep in mind that I'm barely done with this series, as I'm a slow reader, however I know what's happened through tons of research and the like, just enough to know the current events of the latest book)

My favorite female character: Daenerys Targaryen, Arianne Martell, Elia Sand
My favorite male character: Oberyn Martell, Jon Snow
My favorite ship/OTP: It hasn't happened yet, but I already was loving the idea of Jon/Dany.
A character I’d die defending: Sansa, Dany
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Kind of the same answers as the ones I gave for the GOT ones above. There are a lot of unsympathetic characters in this series.
A character I grew to love: I think "love" is a strong word here, but I've come to really kind of understand Catelyn Stark a bit more, mostly through fandom discussions. I still don't like her attitude towards Jon, because regardless of another's supposed actions it's never the fault of a child that they were merely born and to treat them unfairly because of personal feelings of other people is just wrong, but considering what Ned told Catelyn her conflicted feelings are understandable. If that makes any sense?
My anti ship: Dany/Daario

NIKITA

My favorite female character: Nikita and Alex
My favorite male character: Michael
My favorite book/season/etc: It's been a while since I've done a rewatch of this show, but the second season really kind of switched things up, with character alliances and relationships.
My favorite episode (if it's a tv show): This one is very tough, again I need to do a proper rewatch all the way through again, but the episode that immediately came to mind was midway during the first season when Nikita breaks out of Division. She tears those chains out of the wall, she literally beats everyone up, and it was beautiful.
My favorite cast member: Maggie Q
My favorite ship/OTP: Nikita/Michael
A character I’d die defending: Did any of the characters on this show need defending? I feel like they were all well-rounded enough that there was no in-fandom fighting about any of them. With that being said, I think Alex, particularly her in the earlier seasons, especially after finding out the truth of what happened that night her father was killed.
A character I just can’t sympathize with: Percy
A character I grew to love: Birkhoff. I didn't expect that transformation of his character, but I loved it.
My anti ship: Nikita/Ryan, Alex/Owen
