As you may or may not have heard, a late winter episode will obliterate the fourth wall by transporting Sam and Dean to an alt-uni where they are actors named Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki starring in a cult TV show called Supernatural. Wait, it gets wink-winkier: In this other dimension, Sam/Jared has a wife — and it’s none other than Padalecki’s real-life bride (and former ‘Supe costar) Genevieve Cortese!

We've known of the meta-filled episode for some time now, so that isn't very new or shocking. Just more cracked out every time I read about it, lol. Hopefully it'll be good and not painfully bad with second-hand embarrassment. Quite frankly I'm surprised that Genevieve is even going to be involved with Supernatural again, what with the backlash fandom had against her. Most fans would be foaming at the mouth wanting to throw anything at this girl because of her being back, regardless if it's as the character or herself. Not that I really care though, I bet she's only gonna appear on the screen for like two seconds and then disappear while other crazy shenanigans are happening.

WHATEVER. AS LONG AS WE GET MISHA PLAYING HIMSELF! OR MISHA PLAYING CASTIEL TRYING TO PLAY HIMSELF. THAT WOULD BE LOLARIOUS TO THE MAX! XD XD XD


Hide yo' virgins! A dragon (we're talking a dragon with ginormous wings) is breaking into people's houses and snatching up local girls wearing purity rings. For those who are interested in the cool monster factor of demon-hunting, this will be the episode for you. If you just want to see Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) working together and everything returning to sunshine and puppy dogs…maybe not the episode for you.

In seriousness though, I'm not entirely sure I believe the description, unless they are completely abusing the special effects team just for dragon effects. I mean come on, we didn't get to have an epic angelical battle in the fifth season finale, why would they be wasting their monies on something like CGI dragons for some cracked out MOTW episode? Either it's not what we think it is or they'll half-ass it somewhat via filming tricks, idk. I mean, dragons are cool. I love dragons. I just don't know if this show can do them justice. I think I would leave that up to the anime, to be honest. Whatever though, I just have one thing to say:

I WANT THERE TO BE MOTHERFUCKING EPIC ANGEL WINGS ON THIS SHOW AGAIN, DAMMIT! EITHER THE SHADOWS OR ACTUALLY SHOWING THEM IN THEIR ENTIRETY. IF YOU'RE GONNA SHOW US DRAGON WINGS AS THE DESCRIPTION IS IMPLYING YOU BETTER SHOW US SOME ANGEL WINGS SOON, FOR REALS NOW. JUST SAYING.

Otherwise the episode description? Dragons snatching up virgins? IDEK ANYMORE WITH THIS SHOW.


Did anyone else hear the news that Dawn Ostroff is leaving the CW forever? About freaking time! Hallelujah! \O/

That woman is responsible for canceling some of the best programs the network has ever had, mostly because she never understood them or tried to alter them but once those alterations didn't pass she killed them off or whatever, making headway for the melodramatic bullshit that now plagues the network. Good riddance, I say. Hopefully the next president will actually have understanding and respect for the programs and their creators and won't belittle the intelligence of the fanbases of said shows.

Yeah, the meta-episode will definitely borderline hilarious crack and second-hand embarrassment for sure. It will all depend on how it's done and who has written the episode, because quite frankly only a few writers can pull this off with flying colors without fucking shit up as this season has done multiple times already. I'm kind of hoping it'll turn into a "Changing Channels"-like episode, where it starts off lulzy and turns into srs bsns. But we'll see.

I'd like to think, aside from a few good aspects, that the sixth season is a huge joke. The show itself seems to have been downgraded into something I'm not even sure what anymore. I keep hoping that they'll pull their shit together but then, descriptions like these happen. And I just go "oh", and turn the other direction. :/

In all honesty I would feel more comfortable with the concept of the episode had I had more faith in the writers, and more faith in this season as a whole really. I wouldn't mind having some kind of meta-cracked out episode hadn't there been already one too many of them on this show.

Wow! When someone mentioned Supernatural was going to have dragons this season, I thought they were joking. But than as more time goes by Supernatural just seems to be becoming more and more of a really unfunny joke/bad-fic. Even when the show tries to be serious, it still comes off as bad crack fic most of the time, because Sera has changed a lot of little things about the characters (in Dean's case, BIG things) and the world.

Yeah, it's really an unfortunate thing to happen to the show. Why was Sera Gamble assigned to take over again? What is there that she's proven to know the material and stay true to it? You're right, even when they attempt to be taken seriously things just seem incredibly off because of all those changes and it's like, seriously Gamble? Seriously Kripke? -__-

Badfic tropes should not be featured in our shows, no matter how "clever" they think they're being. Leave what you're stealing from fandom to fandom only, ffs.

Relieved, quite frankly. I wanted the show to end last season. However, I wouldn't want to show to end on a horrible note as I feel this season is going to, if anything it needs to go out with a bang like they'd originally intended before shit got all screwed up. If anything it could end up being like how BTVS had gone out, like with the sixth season being so horribly bad but the seventh season ended up wrapping everything up with the biggest of baddies they've encountered. If the rumors are true that the show is gonna get a seventh season, I would rather them doing something like they should have done with in the first place with the fifth season: go out with an apocalyptic bang.

We know the show doesn't have the budget to do full-on dragons, not even close, unless that's what they're wasting half their money on. I'm pretty sure they might half-ass the entire effect anyway, or it's not what it appears to be. Perhaps it could be something in relation to the strange supernatural creatures now appearing elsewhere that's been occurring throughout the season? I don't know.

I seriously hope we get into the civil war in Heaven soon immediately after, though. They did say it'll be more heavily featured this half of the season. *crosses fingers*

I wish there was that middle ground again, like how they used to have been during the earlier seasons where it would be more lighthearted than just outright crack, you know? Something to loosen the tension without them going full-out crazy with some of the shenanigans. And even when they try to take themselves seriously these days it comes out almost unbearable to watch because of how certain things are being handled, writing and direction wise specifically.

I saw an article that pointed out that SPN and the Vampire Diaries are two of the CW's most successful shows, and maybe it would benefit the network to go in that direction more. I certainly hope so.

It's like, I could enjoy just for the pretty but I came into this show for the meta of the mythology and mysteries. I'd rather not water things down just to look at pretty faces.

Well, "hope" isn't really the term I would use when reading the descriptions of these episodes. Unbelievable crackity crack and utter wtfery maybe. But I'm mostly interested in the exciting parts of the Heaven and Purgatory storylines of the plot this season.

It pretty much is just for shits and giggles at this point, unless there is a huge plot twist at the end of the meta-episode one. There was that spoiler description of the angel hitman being in an alternate dimension, so perhaps that could be it. If not well, then I don't really know.

Hey if they want to piss off the tinhatters they better make it fair score on both ends, amirite?

I'm also not fond of her lack of acting abilities either, but I did hear a rumor way back last season they thought about bringing Gen back to play Ruby in either flashbacks or hallucinations. Of course I would prefer her NOT being Ruby ever again, so perhaps this is better? Unless her playing herself sucks just as much, lol.
