SPN: Cracktastic Spoiler Alerts
Jan. 5th, 2011 02:43 amAs you may or may not have heard, a late winter episode will obliterate the fourth wall by transporting Sam and Dean to an alt-uni where they are actors named Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki starring in a cult TV show called Supernatural. Wait, it gets wink-winkier: In this other dimension, Sam/Jared has a wife — and it’s none other than Padalecki’s real-life bride (and former ‘Supe costar) Genevieve Cortese!

LOL YEAH I DON'T EVEN KNOW.
We've known of the meta-filled episode for some time now, so that isn't very new or shocking. Just more cracked out every time I read about it, lol. Hopefully it'll be good and not painfully bad with second-hand embarrassment. Quite frankly I'm surprised that Genevieve is even going to be involved with Supernatural again, what with the backlash fandom had against her. Most fans would be foaming at the mouth wanting to throw anything at this girl because of her being back, regardless if it's as the character or herself. Not that I really care though, I bet she's only gonna appear on the screen for like two seconds and then disappear while other crazy shenanigans are happening.
WHATEVER. AS LONG AS WE GET MISHA PLAYING HIMSELF! OR MISHA PLAYING CASTIEL TRYING TO PLAY HIMSELF. THAT WOULD BE LOLARIOUS TO THE MAX! XD XD XD
Hide yo' virgins! A dragon (we're talking a dragon with ginormous wings) is breaking into people's houses and snatching up local girls wearing purity rings. For those who are interested in the cool monster factor of demon-hunting, this will be the episode for you. If you just want to see Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) working together and everything returning to sunshine and puppy dogs…maybe not the episode for you.
....
DRAGON WITH GINORMOUS WINGS.
DRAGON WITH GINORMOUS WINGS
DRAGON WITH GINORMOUS WINGS
....

TELL ME THIS MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON IS GONNA SPIT FIRE OR THAT DEAN IS GONNA HAVE TO GO INTO SOME TRI-WIZARD TOURNAMENT TO DEFEAT IT OR SOMETHING. LOL
In seriousness though, I'm not entirely sure I believe the description, unless they are completely abusing the special effects team just for dragon effects. I mean come on, we didn't get to have an epic angelical battle in the fifth season finale, why would they be wasting their monies on something like CGI dragons for some cracked out MOTW episode? Either it's not what we think it is or they'll half-ass it somewhat via filming tricks, idk. I mean, dragons are cool. I love dragons. I just don't know if this show can do them justice. I think I would leave that up to the anime, to be honest. Whatever though, I just have one thing to say:
I WANT THERE TO BE MOTHERFUCKING EPIC ANGEL WINGS ON THIS SHOW AGAIN, DAMMIT! EITHER THE SHADOWS OR ACTUALLY SHOWING THEM IN THEIR ENTIRETY. IF YOU'RE GONNA SHOW US DRAGON WINGS AS THE DESCRIPTION IS IMPLYING YOU BETTER SHOW US SOME ANGEL WINGS SOON, FOR REALS NOW. JUST SAYING.
Otherwise the episode description? Dragons snatching up virgins? IDEK ANYMORE WITH THIS SHOW.
Did anyone else hear the news that Dawn Ostroff is leaving the CW forever? About freaking time! Hallelujah! \O/
That woman is responsible for canceling some of the best programs the network has ever had, mostly because she never understood them or tried to alter them but once those alterations didn't pass she killed them off or whatever, making headway for the melodramatic bullshit that now plagues the network. Good riddance, I say. Hopefully the next president will actually have understanding and respect for the programs and their creators and won't belittle the intelligence of the fanbases of said shows.

Date: 2011-01-05 10:58 am (UTC)That fourth wall ep will be embarrassing as fuck, I can already tell.

Date: 2011-01-05 11:01 am (UTC)As for the second one, can the dragon spit acid, too? I've been reading too much of the Temeraire series at the moment where it's got glorious dragons, including a breed name Winchester. :D

Date: 2011-01-05 11:16 am (UTC)as this season has done multiple times already. I'm kind of hoping it'll turn into a "Changing Channels"-like episode, where it starts off lulzy and turns into srs bsns. But we'll see.DRAGON SPITTING ACID. THAT WOULD BE UBER COOL, EVEN COOLER THAN SOME OF THE LAMER MOTW THIS SHOW HAS BEEN HAVING. JUST SAYING.

Date: 2011-01-05 11:24 am (UTC)I hear you. This season's MOTW aren't exactly spectacular or interesting.
And I don't understand why they had to put 'dragon with ginormous wings' when we all know that dragons do have huge wings. Is the dragon going to have teeny tiny wings? XD

Date: 2011-01-05 11:32 am (UTC)It really was, it's one of my favorites of the fifth season without a doubt. Unfortunately Jeremy Carver, who wrote that episode, is no longer with the show. :( Epic sadface all around. I think I'm mostly curious as to what/how Misha will be portraying in the episode, whether it's being himself or him playing Castiel attempting to be himself. And even when writing that it sounds majorly cracky, lol!

Perhaps they didn't want one to confuse these dragons with ones like the Reluctant Dragon? lol, idek. XD

Date: 2011-01-05 01:14 pm (UTC)Dammit, I just want confirmation that Misha will be in this ep! How can they do this sort of crack without him?
no subject
Date: 2011-01-05 01:16 pm (UTC)BUT MISHA PLAYING HIMSELF AND/OR BEING CASTIEL BEING MISHA WOULD BE ALL WORTH IT. AND YES! MISHA/CASTIEL PAIRING IS FOR THE WIN! XD LOL OH MAN THAT WOULD BE SO CRACKALICIOUS UP THE WAZOO.
Yeah, I'm doubting they're willing to show us anything remotely awesome like the dragons I'm envisioning. I'm pretty sure they'll fake us out like the lameness they did with the werewolf nonsense they tried to pull in the horrible episode, "Heart". *rolls eyes*

Date: 2011-01-05 01:18 pm (UTC)I WANT CONFIRMATION TOO! WE NEED TO KNOW DAMMIT. HE HAS TO BE. Because seriously, that priest!Misha photo? That sounds oddly something to do with this, if not an independent project on the side. I mean the more this meta-episode sounds, the more likely this would be. ;)

Here's hoping. I just hope we get someone who doesn't think that melodramatic sop is the be all end all of tv.
Quick question, what are your thoughts on the new president canceling Supernatural next season or even this season?

Date: 2011-01-05 03:44 pm (UTC)I just really, really hope we're going to see Misha playing Castiel trying to play Misha. I have no doubt that this alone will be worth whatever else they're planning on throwing at us in this episode.

Date: 2011-01-05 04:51 pm (UTC)Could this show get anymore AU on crack? That AU episode that's coming up is like WUT lol.
LMAO DRAGONS! Maybe we won't actually see the dragon, but it's shadow. And then it'll turn out to be something else? I love cracky episodes, but I hope it somehow ties into something else because they need to get back on the civil war in Heaven instead of having more cracky episodes.
