YOU KNOW IT'S A BEN EDLUND EPISODE WHEN THE DIALOGUE AND BANTER IS WITTY AND LOLARIOUS.

SUPERNATURAL HAVING AN X-FILES TITLE SEQUENCE, WHICH IS KIND OF AWESOME. OF COURSE MISLEADING BECAUSE THEY HAD MISHA IN THAT OPENING SEQUENCE YET HE DIDN'T APPEAR, AND OF COURSE I THOUGHT WITH THE MONTAGE OF THE "DANCING ALIEN" WE WOULD GET A SURPRISE!GABRIEL BUT, NOPE. MAKES ME SAD TO BE HONEST. SO BECAUSE IT'S NECESSARY:



JUST SAYING. BECAUSE IT'S TRUE.

"SO HAVING A SOUL MEANS I HAVE TO SUFFER?"

DING! DING! DING! DING! WELCOME TO SOUL 101 SOULLESS!SAM!

OR AS I'D LIKE TO CALL IT THE "ANGELUS-TO-ANGEL SYNDROME" BECAUSE QUITE FRANKLY THAT'S PRECISELY HOW THE SOUL WORKS, OR AT LEAST HOW I CONTINUE TO SEE HOW IT WORKS BECAUSE THE ENTIRE WITHOUT-A-SOUL CONCEPT HAS BEEN DONE TIME AND AGAIN BY BTVS THAT I CANNOT HELP BUT REVERT TO THE ANGEL/ANGELUS HUMAN/DEMON KIND OF THING. AND YET ANGELUS NEVER WAS THIS SLOPPY WITH HIMSELF (HE DID HAVE CENTURIES OF PRACTICE THOUGH, SO YOU KNOW). I'M STILL NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHERE THEY ARE GOING WITH THE ENTIRE SOUL SITUATION - IT'S HARD ENOUGH TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS LET ALONE HOW THEY'RE GONNA BE DEALING WITH IT.

SO ANOTHER EPISODE WHICH FEATURES CREATURES THAT MAKE DEALS AND SACRIFICE THINGS. I WAS HOPING FOR MORE MYTHARC LORE IN REGARDS TO THE FAIRIES, BUT WHATEVER.

DEAN GETTING BEAT UP BY A FAIRY IS KIND OF FUNNY THOUGH.

AND OF COURSE THEY HAD TO ADD IN THE HOMOSEXUAL REFERENCE WITH THE "FAIRY" COMMENT.

I'M NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHAT TO FEEL ABOUT THIS EPISODE. IT WAS CRACKED OUT THAT'S FOR SURE, BUT STILL VERY FILLER WITH ONLY MILD THINGS ABOUT SAM'S SOUL. SO YEAH. THAT'S ABOUT IT.

That title sequence was seriously misleading. I was all "Oh, Cas is going to be in that episode? :D" and then he just didn't turn up. :(

I was secretely hoping for a surprise appearance by Gabriel as well. I mean, come on, aliens and fairies? That's his style. But no sign of him either. *sighs*

I thought the episode was funny. Not spectacular but it gave me a laugh and that's the kind of filler episode I don't mind having once in a while.

Seriously! I kept waiting for his to show up, though it seems like they're using his character wisely (plot-driven, not just for filler) so that's good. However it is seriously disappointing when the Show misleads us. It makes me sad when I get all YAY CAS! and then there's no Cas. :(

I WANT GABRIEL BACK OKAY? THIS SEEMED TO BE UP HIS ALLEY OF RANDOMNESS AND COME ON, FAIRIES? HE'S TOTALLY MR. FAIRYLAND OF ARCHANGELS. JUST SAYING.

Yeah. While I would have preferred something plot-related I enjoyed this episode for the entertainment it provided, the majority of it had to do with the script which, praise Ben Edlund for making such witty banters between the brothers. XD

I'm all for using his character more plot-driven. So get his civil war in Heaven plot on screen already.
But really, this epsiode actually did work well without Cas and there wasn't really any room for him in the story. It was just disappointing to not have him in it because I got my hopes up after seeing Misha's name in the credits.

YES! BRING GABRIEL BACK! PLEASE! THIS EPISODE MADE ME REALISE EVEN MORE HOW MUCH I MISS MY FAVOURITE ARCHANGEL.
