Date: 2009-06-24 03:55 am (UTC)1. During season one any flashback or hallucination-scene with her and Lily. I always found those very endearing and amazing, really shows how much she really loved her best friend and how everything she did was prompted by her dedication to solving that mystery. That, and I just loved anything those two bffs did, even if Lily was a bit wild.
2. The ending of the episode "Like A Virgin" with her visiting Abel Koontz at the jail and him telling her that little piece of info that she might be Jake Kane's daughter, not Keith's. Her cry in the car before it faded out was so strong and emotional, leaving us feeling pain for her.
3. Pretty much any time she pwnd someone with her super sleuth skills.
Unpopular Opinions: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
1. I like Dawn. I never understood why fandom was always ragging on Dawn and calling her whiny. I'm just like, yeah? She's a teenager, of course she's going to be whiny and immature and slightly irrational in her attitude and behavior. Joss was realistic to that in the character, and I identified with her a bit because of being the younger sibling. Also her character grew as the show continued, that progression was what I liked.
2. Angel/Buffy = OTP. I liked the crush-phase of Buffy/Spike, but once they made it official I ended up hating it. They fluffed/watered down Spike's character way too much. I also hated Buffy/Riley as I found Riley boring and blah.
3. I adored the seventh season. The First Evil, the Potential Slayers, the fight in the Hellmouth underneath Sunnydale. Loved it.

I thought it was absolutely perfect in terms of the show overall, from were the characters were from the beginning to their personal journeys throughout the seasons and how they ended up, also the deeper message weaving through it all; the religious and scientific aspects, all of it. I thought it all ended on a beautiful note and I understood what RDM was getting across, and I felt the finale did a faithful job to really explain what needed to be explained, left things ambiguous and it's a pity some fans don't see that. Oh well, their loss I suppose.
(in addition to that, I did not mind the Final Five reveal at all, in fact the more info we got about that the more I understood and liked it)
2. I don't understand the whole Kara/Lee vs Kara/Sam shipper wars going on, which pairing is better and who she should've gone with and that whole bitterness about the finale and blah blah blah. I don't care. It's pretty much Kara/everyone, okay? Hell, Kara/Six/Lee/Sam/Gaius orgy should just happen and everyone should be happy.
3. My strong emotional reaction to that episode aside, I still like Boomer. I find her story kind of depressing and tragic, actually.

Date: 2009-06-24 05:00 pm (UTC)And I agree with what head!Six mentioned, that with every cycle comes something that will break it and we'd head in a different direction. It gives us a sense of hope, and I liked that. It was perfect for the entire message of what BSG was telling us all along.
Some of the bitter shipper wars come from the finale as well, which I find ridiculous. I think most were hoping for some kind of orgy to happen between certain characters, but whatever. I find the entire pairing versus pairing thing quite ridiculous. Can't we all just get along? Srsly.

They are just so polar opposites and yet somehow they make it work with their strange bonding at times. From when they when they went shopping together (esp. with the tampon talk, lol oh Sheldon) to the "Penny Penny Penny" knocking thing that he does, to that scene when he showed her how to play online gaming (AFK!). XD
2. Him vehemently protesting lolcats. XDDD
3. THE CHRISTMAS SCENE! When Penny gave him the napkin with Leonard Nimoy's message and signature. And he HUGGED HER. :DDD How awesome was that scene? Seriously.

Unpopular Opinions: Dark Angel
1. Max/Logan never particularly interested me. I mean, yeah the sexual tension is there and all but I never really quite liked it as much as they were wanting us to, y'know? I had the notion of Max/Zack or Max/Alec more, Max/Zack especially because even though they weren't biologically brother and sister it was that "forbidden" place (plus Zack was totes jealous of Logan).
2. I liked Jessica Alba in this show, always have and always will. I think her growing reputation in the Hollywood scene is leaving people with a sore taste because of the roles she picks, but the girl is fierce and can act. Though I much preferred her in season one than season two, because she looked healthier then (though from what I've heard she wasn't happy during that time of filming, the stress hence the weight loss). Either way, she was a tough girl and I fell in love with Max because her of.
3. I think we should have gotten more X5's during S2 like how we did in S1 and focused more on that instead of going the mutant route.

The ending scene to "Everybody Loves A Clown", him unleashing his pent up rage and angst and frustration on his Impala (which ironically he was fixing after he got totaled in the S1 finale). I felt that was a defining scene for his character, the kind of weight he's struggling with and how much emotional baggage he has with him. From his father's death to the secret he had to carry. It was a painful scene to watch but necessary because you felt his pain. Jensen really knocks those scenes out of the park. Like the one when he's giving the monologue to Sam's body before he goes out and makes the deal to the Crossroads demon in the end of S2? My God, give that man an Emmy already!
2. "Jerk" "Bitch" Pretty much any and all brotherly scenes, which we haven't gotten a lot of in the recent season, and with good reason given how divided they are, even in the finale.
3. When he killed the Yellow-Eyed Demon. Perfect justice, from all his anger and grief he finally finished the job they were so bent on getting to for years. I think it was a nice, but bittersweet moment knowing what kind of deal he made with selling his soul. I felt it was a well-deserved thing to have him kill YED.
Honestly it's hard to narrow down only three moments/scenes because there are a lot of defining moments about Dean from all the scenes. I could go on about him and Castiel, about him and faith/belief, how devoted he is to his family, etc. But I think those three are good enough answers, yes?
Unpopular Opinions: Bones
Interestingly enough I don't have a lot of unpopular opinions for Bones. I think the only one that comes to mind is that I didn't like Sweets for the longest time, perhaps it was because I had long suspected him of being the Gormagon until it was said that Zack had been the perp, and even though I didn't like that they kept Sweets on until most recently. Because I felt they were kind of replacing Zack with him for some reason.
Otherwise, that's it. Bones is my happy show, I don't much problems with it or any kind of opinion that is unpopular amongst the masses of fans in the fandom.

Date: 2009-06-24 05:46 am (UTC)1. Her dream sequences. They are always so creative and utterly adorable because, well, we know that Blair considers her life to be like a movie or a fairytale so of course her dreams have to mimic that, particularly anything involving Audrey Hepburn. :)
2. That scene with her in the hospital as she and Jenny break Eric out was awesome. It says a lot about her value to Eric, particularly later on in the season when she doesn't reveal about him being gay until he gave the okay to blackmail Asher.
3a. When she calls Serena during Thanksgiving after she turns back to her eating disorder, and how even with their dysfunctional family matters she and Serena and the rest of the gang just have some plain ordinary junk fast food elsewhere trying to escape it all. I think that it was ultimately sweet.
3b. In addition to that sweetness, I like any kind of interaction between Blair and Dan because it is very rare you see them communing in a civil manner or, God forbid, scheming together. I think those are the best. I even liked it when she was asking advice from him about Chuck, adorable.
and yes I have this thing where I would love to see Blair/Dan happen on the show at some point, they are my guilty pairing don't judge me okay?Unpopular Opinions: Doctor Who
1. I loved Rose. I loved Martha. I loved Donna. There is no one companion better than the other, so fandom can suck it. In fact, I would love there to be a spin off with all the companions as they have adventures of their own, much like Sarah Jane. Where Jack Harkness can appear every once in a while, because that would be fun. :D
2. I prefer Nine over Ten. I think David Tennant is vastly overrated. C'mon, where's the Christopher Eccleston love?
3. The new Doctor does not appeal to me, at all. I don't see him as attractive and he looks older instead of younger as people proclaim him to be. However, the new companion? She's hot. But I doubt I'll watch it.

Or that the majority of the fandom thinks he's "omg liek sooo hawt" (as that's what I see/read/hear everywhere when there's mentioning of David or Doctor Who).

Date: 2009-06-24 07:35 am (UTC)1. The scene when Angel captured her and tried to reform her from her destructive ways for the first time. I think it really says a lot about Angel and how, I think, he sees a lot of himself in her. Especially when it continues into AtS and he attempts intervention once again, and it succeeds. There are a lot of emotional points here for Faith and how, out of everyone including Buffy, it was Angel who was able to get through to her. I think having that kind of relationship between the two was ultimately very sweet and beautiful. You could tell that Faith looks up to Angel and trusts him because of that. I mean, come on, he visited her when she was in jail (perhaps periodically for a while). I really wish there could've been more scenes with them.
2. The episodes where Buffy and Faith did the body swap. If anything that showed just how amazing their acting was, particularly on Eliza's end. Very convincing when they were playing off one another.
3. I liked it when Faith was spiraling downward and hit rock bottom, not that I liked seeing my girl getting hurt and confusion but I felt it was necessary for her to hit that bottom in order to regain herself once again. I like stories like that, and even long afterward Faith is still paying her debts for what she'd done. I identified a lot with Faith more than I did with Buffy, which is why she's my favorite character out of either show. Because she is my girl and I love her dearly. ♥
Here's a bonus: for the completely shallow moments, her dancing scenes. At the Bronze with Buffy and then in Angel combining her dancing with fighting. Sexy Faith is sexy. ;)
Unpopular Opinions: Firefly
1. I think I would've preferred more of Mal's bitterness as seen in the pilot and even in the movie rather than the lightheartedness for the rest of the series. I mean sure, Nathan Fillion is hilarious and making with the funny is always a nice touch, but to me Mal had a harder side to him and we should have seen more of that instead of every once in a while. Of course we all know this was the effect from FOX suggesting that change, but whatever.
2. I don't get the whole Mal/River pairing. I think they are more father-daughter like than for a romantic kind of couple thing. But this is coming from someone who ships Simon/River so, y'know.
3. Even though it was shocking, I understood the reason for Wash's death. You can't have everyone live in that kind of universe, otherwise it would've seemed unrealistic and too perfect particularly for a crew like theirs. I also have a feeling that if the show had gone on for another season or so we would have seen even more character deaths. So yeah, loved Wash and cried when he died but it was a necessity and I applaud Joss for going that risky route towards such a beloved character.

And like you, I would've preferred that. There were plenty of other characters to carry the light-heartedness. And I don't get any of ther River pairings so...Mal/River actually bothers me less than Jayne/River. The only River pairing that I could even stomach would be Kaylee/River and even that, I have issues with.

It was just nice seeing him and the Squints just having the time of their lives playing around with the notion of discovering pirates. I don't know why I love it so much, I think because it was so early in the season that we ever got to see him being so comfortable around the Squint team other than Brennan, you know?
2. Booth and his socks. And his "Cocky" belt buckle. XD Pure David showing right there.
3. This is pretty much like in all the freaking episodes obviously and quite a predictable answer but, him and Brennan bickering. I just love seeing their little bicker sessions because it's so cute (and they are soooo married it's ridiculous!) But I also really like anything where Booth shows his affection and deep care for his partner when she's in peril, not to go completely in the whole "damsel in distress" because Brennan is so not that type, but whenever there's something she cannot get out of he's right there behind her, either actively or for moral support.
Unpopular Opinions: Supernatural
1. I don't get the Wincest, nor do I get RPS. I see the boys as brothers and nothing else beyond that, and while in some of my fandoms I do have certain incestuous pairings Sam/Dean is not one of those pairings because I just don't see it. Their entire relationship and chemistry is familial brotherly love, that's it. I mean, they're not the Petrelli brothers with the whole "but they're Italian!" phrase fandom has adopted. As for RPS and the J2 stuff, it's just not my cup of tea. I don't understand the fascination with it in general and I feel like it's crossing a boundary line (particularly in this fandom where porn and reality do get mixed up in such fangirl's fantasies concerning Sam/Dean and/or Jared/Jensen....and that's scary and kind of embarrassing).
2. I LOVE THE ENTIRE MYTHARC OF THE FOURTH SEASON! The introduction of angels and Heaven and the Apocalypse really appealed to me and if I hadn't already loved the show previously this would have definitely made me sit up and watch it. Which I have to say, I had loved the show before but it wasn't until this season where I finally got so captivated by what was happening with the mytharc. It just seems so perfect and right to introduce us to the concept especially now as the series is drawing to a close, and it's funny when I see fans complaining how it doesn't fit the mythology or it should always been about the boys and hunting and demons. You can't have demons and Hell without having the idea of angels/a higher power and Heaven. Light and Dark, part of the same coin and all that jazz. I just feel that some fans want the show to stay more occult-like than entering into the religious stuff (which is ironic considering most of what they deal with come from a variety of different religions, including Judeo-Christianity). So yeah, I think the religious and biblical direction the show is taking is perfect and I'm enjoying every second of it.
I also believe that because of dealing with something as huge as the Apocalypse, next season should be the last. No sixth season, even though many fans will be wanting like a gazillions more, having five is more realistic to what Kripke wants as opposed to what fans and the network want. RDM did it with BSG, so can Kripke with SPN.
3. It's no secret that the issues concerning female roles is a huge hot subject matter amongst fandom, so I'll say this as simply as I can. I like the majority of the female characters in the show. Do I think the show does them justice? Not always, but I do like the majority featured and do think the show can write them decently as they have in the past. However, the show kinda fails at creating adequate recurring female roles, which is why I had issues and was annoyed with new!Ruby and Anna during S4 mainly due to horrible writing and poor acting. This is why they should get more competent females for such recurring roles.
Why couldn't they bring back the one girl, Jamie, from the episode "Monster Movie"? She would've been an awesome candidate for a recurring role because she was no damsel in distress or had something special about her or whatever, and could hold her own pretty well.

My favorite scene with Caroline, which probably would go underneath an unpopular opinion because it seems most of the Dollhouse fandom dislikes her, would have to be the flashbacks when she was pursuing her activism against Rossum. It gave us a glimpse into who she was and how the Dollhouse tracked her down, and I think I would like to see more of Caroline in flashbacks because even with these glimpses we hardly know anything else about her other than her humans/animal rights activism and that she managed to run from Rossum/the Dollhouse for about two years.
2. My first favorite Echo scene would have to be the beginning montage of "A Spy in the House of Love" -- we were given a look at how Echo views her surroundings and seeing everything through her eyes, and at how self-aware she's becoming as opposed to the other Dolls. She's also figuring things out and piecing them together to make such conclusions herself even if she doesn't quite understand all the facts. I find this progression of Echo's evolving state very intriguing, and hope to see more in season two, particularly now since with the evolution of Super!Echo in "Omega" where she became imprinted with all the imprinted personalities and even more self-aware than ever before. I loved that whole aspect of that episode, actually, and the ending giving us the idea that Echo is still fully aware and will become her own person in later episodes.
3. I love Echo's friendship with Sierra and Victor. I think it's sweet and adorable how she looks out for them, and I'm really hoping that they are still in that friendship next season, because they essentially are the Dollhouse Scoobies as far as I'm concerned.
Unpopular Opinions: Angel
1. I think Angel/Cordy would've been sweet had they gone in that direction completely. I mean, Angel/Buffy will always be my OTP but there was a cuteness factor to them I thought. But then they made Cordelia of the Higher Power and then ultimately evil going with Connor and then in a coma, yeah. Not so much liking that aspect of her character, but overall I really loved Cordelia's involvement in the show regardless of how it turned out in the end. I loved her snark on Buffy and she brought that over into Angel for the first couple of seasons, but she had her own development. It was just sad that she had to die, y'know?
2. I like broody!Angel as much as the next person, though I liked how they switched it up in the later seasons with him not being so brooding and depressing, adding in some comedy with him for a change. That of course transcended into me loving him as Booth in Bones because he wasn't the tall, dark brooding vampire hiding in the shadows all the time. Heh.
3. I prefer dark!Wesley than wimpy!Wesley. Compare him from when he was first introduced in Buffy to later in Angel, when he becomes the more brooding character out of them all. Interesting transition, no?

1. When she dressed up like Wonder Woman for Halloween. She worked that costume yo, for real, and kicked major ass in it too. And even more hilarious was when she carried that hugeass gun and Booth was like "where did you find a place to store that?" XDDD
2. Her emotional breakdown in the S1 finale when she was trying to convince herself of her identity instead of the truth that's been hidden from her. Booth then coming up to he and hugging her, comforting her. It was a nice sweet, tender moment between the two which I loved seeing. Because c'mon, Booth loves his Bones and doesn't want to see her getting hurt in any way, shape or form.
3. Um, Bones and Booth bickering. I said this about Booth above and I'll say it here. They are SO MUCH LOVE when they bicker playfully, it's too adorable. ♥
Unpopular Opinions: Gossip Girl
1. Dan/Blair. It must happen at some point, and I have no shame in admitting that I like the thought of it.
2. As much as I love Chuck/Blair I also wouldn't mind if they just stayed friends, plotting and scheming together and making life a living hell for others that deserve it. They love each other and it's obvious, but I also would love just a platonic relationship either. I also don't mind Nate/Blair (although Nate can be an idiot sometimes, a lovable idiot but still).
3. I...don't like Jenny? I don't know if that's unpopular or not, but it's the truth. I know they're setting her up to be the next Queen B at the school just like in the books and all that, but honestly? Jenny is not material enough for that kind of position. There is only one Queen B, and that is Blair Waldorf. She IS the totes HBIC, m'kay?

Chuck and Blair are awesome together, no matter what type of togetherness they happen to be in. And no WAY could Jenny, at this point in time, be HBIC the way Blair was. (Personally, I wouldn't rule it out for all eternity, I just can't see it happening immediately. No way.)

The infamous park bench scene at the end of 4.07, not only was it beautifully shot with them on the benches looking over the playground in the park, but it really gives us the first look at Castiel being utterly content and just himself in front of Dean. It was always business between them, unspoken words and such, but this scene? It was a memorable moment between him and Dean which told us they were bonding, there was a level of trust here given that Castiel confided something in Dean that he probably wouldn't mention to any others in the garrison, knowing the consequences. We also hear that he has doubts and questions regarding Heaven's orders, that he has faith in Dean and tells him these things with ease. It really says a lot about Castiel, and I thought it was beautifully done.
2. This isn't necessarily one particular moment, but you can see it throughout the season. Castiel's subtle gestures of either facial expressions or just using his eyes. He needs no words, his body language speaks enough volumes. Not all actors can do that as fluidly and naturally as Misha Collins does it, and he does it like a pro. He can make himself go from being Castiel to being Jimmy Novak in seconds, it's amazing how he can do that. Misha is just magical like that!
3a. When talking about subtly, there's one moment in "On The Head Of A Pin" when he's talking to Sam out in the hospital hallway and he continues to gaze towards Dean's room. He's looking at it, looks at Sam, and then back at the room again. It's such a small moment that you wouldn't think about it if you just watched it, but to me this signifies how much he really cares for Dean and is concerned for his well-being, even if he can't pull out a miracle to heal him. (and of course, every single scene in that episode Castiel was amazing, but yeah we already knew that ;p)

Castiel picking up and skimming through one of Chuck's "Supernatural", er, future "Winchester Gospel" novels after saying he's a fanboy of them. This kind of mirrors him flipping through the book in the premiere, doesn't it? CASTIEL IS SUCH A BOOKWORM!!! :DDD THIS FILLS ME WITH UTTER GLEE!
I could go on, obviously. So many favorite moments, so little time to express my love for them. But everyone should now that CASTIEL IS LOVE and that is that. ♥

That whole moment just, God, having Dean catching Castiel in such a vulnerable moment like that? MY HEART, IT MELTS. It's almost the same with Castiel in this little moment:
