My Comments: Shen Wei, my beloved. There is a lot of amazing fanvids of his character (and of Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan, and Guardian in general) out there done by some extremely talented vidders, and I wanted to share at least two that focused on his badass nature, either as Hei Pao Shi or as himself. The editing of both are great to match the beats of the songs, the ending of the first fanvid was hilarious yet perfect (I agree Zhao Yunlan, "Wow!" indeed), and the second one is just an excuse to show off his gorgeous face as he is giving those expressions of his, with some Ye Zun sprinkled in there, of course.

I've been thinking about doing something in terms of recommending fanvids. Usually this is something I've done before during memes and especially with snowflake_challenge when it comes to recommending fanworks, but sometimes I just want to recommend without a particular prompt. Fanvid Fridays will be kind of my way of sharing a fanvid that I've either recently discovered or one that I've revisited many times that I personally love from my various fandoms (whether you're familiar with the fandom in question or not, fanvids have always been an interesting way of introducing people into a particular canon or character/pairing or even a creative concept/narrative with their editing styles). The video will be placed underneath a cut with my own commentary outside of it, similar to that of how I would do for the Fandom Snowflake Challenge. I can't guarantee it'll be every single Friday, but it will consistently be on Fridays that these recommendations will happen.

So, without further ado....

My Comments: When I first discovered this fanvid I was in utter awe from beginning to end, just the way it is edited is so good when it comes to matching of scenes from both dramas to parallel both pairings of Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian and Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan. I am always impressed when vidders do this, because it must take a lot of time to find particular scenes and place them in sync with each other. You can see the hard work that this person did in achieving that to make the connections work, and it really pays off in the end. It's so beautifully well-done. It's also set to one of my favorite t.A.T.u. songs, "All About Us", which also fits perfectly for these two pairings.

++ The book cover art has been revealed for the first volume of the Guardian English translation. I love it! It looks so good. It really captures Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan and their whole dynamic perfectly. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. I only managed to read some excerpts from the fan translation of the novel before this was announced, so I know how vastly different to novel is from the drama. So I cannot wait to get my hands on this. The release date has been pushed back from its original scheduled release, but I'm okay with waiting just a little longer.

++ I watched the second trailer for Dune: Part 2 that came out recently, and my overall reaction is: give it to me now. If I wasn't already excited for it before, this second trailer would've done the job. Especially at the end when Paul yells, "Long live the fighters!"
