++ Does anyone else get that feeling when, after consuming a piece of media you're deeply engrossed with and emotionally invested in, that once you finished you kind of just are feeling rather melachonic? As though you need to just sit alone in silence for a while to just process everything, and that even the mere thought of starting another story is draining in itself?

I just finished two cdramas (Detective Samoyeds and Ancient Detective, both which were among my list of Asian dramas that I've been alternating between watching lately) within the last week around the same time, and they were absolutely delightful, but I also feel so utterly emotionally depleted that even though I have more dramas on my to watch list I'm sort of emotionally exhausted to start a new one right now. I suppose that's my own fault because I was simultaneously watching these dramas and somehow decided it was a good idea to finish both around the same time, never mind that I was putting in some extra time translating on my own for one of them since half of the drama didn't have English subtitles. Not that I'm complaining because I strangely enjoyed the task and challenge of doing so, and I really liked both dramas, but still. I'm also at that stage of, yeah, I could simply just go back and rewatch them, and I definitely will absolutely, especially to catch the things I missed the first time around, but there is that lingering feeling of yearning for more of the story. And of course with Asian dramas, unless stated otherwise most of them are limited series, which I already knew going into them but it still makes me go "no, I don't want it to be over!" every single time.

This is one of the reasons why I can't just jump from one fandom to another on a whim, because once I become attached to one that's all I think about and once it's over, I'm in that weird limbo headspace of wanting more, more of the story, more fandom content, etc. But this feeling shall pass, it always does, and soon I'll be latched onto a new canon that I'll be obsessed with.

++ In similar news, it seems that Is Xianzun Whitewashed Today?, one of the other dramas on my list, is apparently filming a second (?) season! This came as a pleasant surprise, with seeing some of the pictures that have been recently released from their filming, and it looks like they have a slightly bigger budget since the costumes and sets look more detailed. Can't wait to see this further development, it is a cute drama, short as it is, and I do wonder if they'll keep it in the same short format or extend it somewhat.

++ I don't often do little reactions like this for something ongoing, but after what was revealed from Critical Role last week I needed to give my thoughts:

The reveal that Laudna was one of the corpses hung from the Sun Tree in early campaign one was absolutely amazing and beautifully fucked up. I'm not one to really listen much to the fandom's theories on things since I don't pay attention to that fandom anymore, but I recall some were floating this idea early on contemplating the possibility of Laudna either being one of the corpses from either the Sun Tree or the Zigguart, since it would be the most devastatingly fucked up thing to and I'm someone who loves a good fucked up tragic backstory. Whether or not it turned out to be true didn't really matter much to me, since the idea was enough to be fascinating. But the more we learned about Laudna the more this seemed to be the case, and to have it confirmed is just icing on the cake.

I really liked how not only is this such a treat for anyone who watched C1, but also since The Legend of Vox Machina aired we even see this visually, it adds more of a punch to the gut that we're seeing all of this connected. In fact, I love that all campaigns have seeds of C1 sprinkled in, from characters to events which have affected how things are in the future for whichever current party the cast are inhabiting, and with C3 having a direct connection with the Briarwood arc is utterly delightful, and it makes me excited for what could possibly come from this, because I mean, Laudna has Delilah Briarwood inside of her head, something is bound to happen with that.....

Just, the utter brilliance of Marisha for creating this character. Moreover, taking a random NPC that Matt created just for that horrifying imagery of Vox Machina discovering the the bodies hung from the Sun Tree and turning them into a main party character years later in their third campaign. Genius, incredible, amazing, etc.

++ I don't have much to say in regards to the Disney Walkout that hasn't already been more eloquently stated by others, I just know that these employees are incredibly brave since they are potentially risking their jobs for doing this. Disney is a massive corporation and, despite the public outcry and backlash over their support of a homophobic bill, they have the power to fire all the employees partaking in the walkout and just continuing doing what they do. Regardless of what happens, I support the employees not only doing the walkout but just speaking out in general against Disney's homophobia and hypocrisy.
