Give me a TV series and I'll tell you:It is perfectly okay to give me more than one show, just so you know. This can also be extended to things not strictly television specific (webseries or film series, for example).

Date: 2017-02-28 01:04 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Camille, hands down. Though Kirsten comes close second.
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Linus. He seemed kinda dudebro-y, or at least oblivious to his lack of social skills which came off as such, but I think his character has grown somewhat over the last two seasons.
A character I used to like but now don't: None. :)
A character I'm indifferent about: Linus perhaps? There are times when I like him and other times when I'm indifferent, it really depends on how he's acting.
A character who deserved better: Marta. We only got a brief introduction to her character, and that was after she had awakened from her comatose state, and I feel like there was a lot of unanswered questions regarding her character. She also deserved a better fate than what she was given. (I feel bad for the actress too, this is the second character I've seen her play that gets that short end of the stick.)
A ship I've never been able to get into: Camille/Linus. There are times when I think they're cute, but other times when I just want Camille to be with someone better. It goes back and forth, to be honest. Also Cameron/Nina, and not just because I want Cameron/Kirsten to happen either. Cameron/Nina was obviously a setup to be the obstacle between Cameron and Kirsten, and while I initially liked that they didn't go into that weird love triangle territory and handled the situation like adults, in hindsight it's still entering that territory just from another angle, particularly when Nina basically was like, "it's either Kirsten or me" (when they had only been dating for, like, a few weeks at least). I don't know.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Cameron/Kirsten. It's endgame, I know it is, but the slow burn is killing me.
A cute, low-key ship: Camille/Fisher. ♥
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Kirsten/Camille.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Kirsten/Liam, but it's canon that it was a ruse to begin with and they are all aware that it should never have happened. So I think everyone is in agreement about that.
My favourite storyline/moment: Fisher teaching Camille how to fight. It was brief, but I liked seeing them bond and showing that Camille is using those skills to good use later on. I also love whenever Camille and Kirsten have moments of bonding, as well.
A storyline that never should have been written: Camille spying on Liam by acting as though she wanted to go out with him. I can understand the initial prospect of such a storyline, but it got frustrating when she couldn't tell anyone and the horrible assumptions from others about her character when it was unneeded. And after all of that, nothing else came from it in terms of Camille going back out in the field, actually putting her training to good use. Even Allison Scagliotti mentioned that she wants better for Camille on the show, so I hope they make sure to do that in the upcoming third season.
My first thoughts on the show: I had no idea what the show was about, it might be bad and might not last a full season, but I was only going to be watching because of Allison Scagliotti.
My thoughts now: MY BEAUTIFUL AND RIDICULOUSLY ADDICTIVE LITTLE SHOW THANK GOD IT WAS RENEWED FOR A THIRD SEASON I WAS SO WORRIED. ♥

Date: 2017-02-28 01:35 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Draco Malfoy. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Ironically enough, Draco Malfoy. I didn't think much of his character at first but of course, a combination of the fandom and the development seen in Half Blood Prince it led a whole new appreciation of the character, so much that he rose to become my favorite character of the series. I just love that little shit so much.
A character I used to like but now don't: I don't really know? Perhaps Dumbledore, even though I didn't have strong feelings for him initially I definitely don't like him now, especially when you realize the shit he put Harry through.
A character I'm indifferent about: Most of the Weasley's.
A character who deserved better: Sirius Black (I was in denial for such a long time after his death), Remus Lupin (same, only more disappointment in the lack of recognition of his character in the last book), and the Malfoys for not getting the character development they deserved, particularly after the events from the last two books.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Most of the canon pairings (Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione), and when it comes to fandom, oh boy, there's quite a list when it comes to the wide variety of ships that I just couldn't get into or even understand.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Harry/Draco, a.k.a. my ultimate OTP. The fact that there's still an outpouring of fanfic for them and that I'm still reading it after all these years says something. ♥ ♥ ♥
A cute, low-key ship: Hermione/Krum. I thought they were adorable together.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I don't think they're necessarily unpopular, but I always loved Harry/Hermione and, later, Harry/Luna.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny.
My favourite storyline/moment: This is predictably biased, but I will have to say Draco's entire arc in Half-Blood Prince. More so the film than the book, because we got a chance to see what was happening to him. It was really beautifully done to demonstrate such development of his character from the nasty little shit he had been previously. It's something I wish JKR had expanded on in the final book, because all that potential was there. Also, Prisoner of Azkaban, being my favorite book, I liked that the plot wasn't centered around Voldemort as the rest of the series was.
A storyline that never should have been written: The entirety of the epilogue. Ugh.
My first thoughts
on the showthe series: I got into the series when the first movie came out (on VHS!) and was curious enough to pick up the books. So my first thoughts were probably along the lines of thinking it was interesting, also magic and wizards/witches? Count me in!My thoughts now: THIS IS SUCH A TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL (but also terribly flawed) STORY THAT HAS TORN MY HEART OUT AND RIPPED IT TO SHREDS AND I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS AND I NEED TO ANALYZE THIS ENTIRE WORLD AND GIVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS AND JUST, UGH, FICTIONAL WORLDS AMIRITE?

Date: 2017-02-28 02:15 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Carmilla Karnstein. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Perry. Although to be fair, I didn't dislike her, I just was rather indifferent to her character at first because we didn't see nearly enough of her at the start to really form an opinion other than her being LaFontaine's neurotic and "in complete denial of the paranormal" best friend, but then things got really interesting in the second season onward and I enjoyed seeing her backstory in Season Zero.
A character I used to like but now don't: I went back and forth with Laura, particularly in the second season, but we were supposed to question her choices and actions at that point. I disliked Laura for the things she said to Carmilla and the way she acted, but that was the point of her character development.
A character I'm indifferent about: Danny.
A character who deserved better: Funnily, Danny kind of deserved better in the third season. She wasn't really present aside from a few scenes and voice acting moments, and at the end everything about her character went unresolved? I'm hoping there is something more for her in the movie. Same goes for Kirsch as well. I also think that J.P. deserved better, because while he was incredibly helpful my heart hurt for what happened to him. And Mattie, as well. It was a shocking moment when she was killed, and although we saw her plenty of the third season as a spirit, I still think she deserved much better.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Danny/Laura. Something about them together rubs me the wrong way, mostly because of how Danny treated Laura in the first season, which she was rightfully called out on.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Carmilla/Laura. Sure, they had their ups and downs, but the fact that this is a canon F/F relationship that didn't end tragically is just downright amazing and beautiful.
A cute, low-key ship: I don't know whether I ship it romantically or platonically, but I really enjoyed the relationship between Danny/Kirsch, since I thought it was adorable, which makes what happened in the third season so heartbreaking (Kirsch still believed in Danny even after everything, just ow my heart). Also LaFontaine/JP connection I found rather adorable, as well.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Idk if there is one? At least not one that I enjoyed, anyway.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: N/A
My favourite storyline/moment: Season Zero was super fun because, while it was obviously a sponsored minisode interlude they worked it in perfectly with the lore of the show, and it provided us with some amazing backstory for some of the characters. Season three was filled with so many perfect moments and storylines: everything involving the sentient magical library, bringing in Laura's father briefly, the alternate universe arc, it was all so beautifully crafted and well-done all around.
A storyline that never should have been written: Nothing comes to mind because I feel like everything that was presented in the webseries had its purpose and fit perfectly, the storytelling was top-notch from beginning to end so I have no complaints whatsoever.
My first thoughts on the show: Seeing the gifs and people talking about it, I was rather curious as to what it was about. All I knew it featured plenty of women and LGBT representation, and I was already intrigued by one character being described as the "useless lesbian vampire", lol.
My thoughts now: BEAUTIFUL PERFECT WEBSERIES, EXCELLENT STORYTELLING. SAD IT'S OVER. BUT MOVIE COMING OUT THIS YEAR YAY! No seriously, I never imagined that I would have loved this webseries, but I basically marathoned the first season in an entire afternoon (before the second season had come out, btw) and I was immediately hooked. And I could not have asked for a better webseries than this. Three seasons, and it wrapped everything up beautifully. ♥

Date: 2017-02-28 08:57 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Sarah Manning. It's tough to choose from because I love all the clones, but Sarah was the first character we were introduced to, she was the catalyst that brought us into the story and so I have a strong attachment to her personally.
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Paul. I went back and forth on Paul a lot, whether he was trustworthy or worth Sarah's time, but in the end I he was a good guy after all. He just made some bad choices and got mixed up in the wrong things, but he truly cared about Sarah, loved her even, and his sacrifice was something I will forever be sad about. I would also like to say Donnie, because in the beginning I wasn't all that convinced that he and Alison should've been together, but over the course of the show they've proven to be the best accidental murder power couple and I just love? Donnie proved himself loyal to Alison and the rest of the clones.
A character I used to like but now don't: N/A
A character I'm indifferent about: Delphine.
A character who deserved better: Beth Childs. Poor Beth, she tried so hard but got in too deep and things were just spiraling out of control and beyond anything she was prepared to deal with. Even though her suicide launched the series from the opening scene in the series premiere, it's still sad and I kinda wished that Beth had survived somehow to witness everything that Sarah and their sisters have accomplished. And special mention to all the other clones that we didn't meet or didn't have time to get to know but perished, whether from the sickness or by someone else. I also think Evie Cho deserved better than what she was handed. Yeah, she was an antagonist, but there was still a lot about Evie that we didn't really get to learn about, and I felt her time on the show was very short.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Cosima/Delphine. There is just something about their relationship I could never get behind, which was ultimately because Delphine lied to Cosima from the start. Yeah, she might have grown to develop feelings for her and realized that what she was assigned to do was wrong, but no matter how complicated I'm not down for something like that. Never mind that Delphine continually disregarded Cosima's feelings and autonomy. I don't know, it just reminded me of the reasons why I didn't like Bo/Lauren from Lost Girl, just the total lack of respect for personal autonomy and decisions of an individual all because of ~science. While I understand the importance of Cosima/Delphine as a canon f/f couple, and I know that the complicatedness of their relationship is what people like, it's just not something I can get into, personally speaking.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Sarah/Paul, they were both fucked up people with trust issues and did this dance around each other a lot, but in the end Paul truly did love Sarah and Sarah cared a lot about him, which makes his end truly tragic.
A cute, low-key ship: Helena/Jesse. After everything Helena has been through in her life, she deserves some happiness. They are oddly incredibly cute together and I do hope to see more of Jesse in the last season, at least.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Cosima/Shay. I really liked them together and wished that she stayed a little longer.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Idk.
My favourite storyline/moment: Oh gosh, so many! I can't possibly choose.
A storyline that never should have been written: None that I can think of. While there were certain ones I favored over others, all storylines presented on the show have importance to the overall plot of the story.
My first thoughts on the show: It was a genre and story right up my alley, and I was curious to see what everyone was talking about.
My thoughts now: TATIANA MASLANY DESERVES ALL THE AWARDS FOR EVERY SINGLE CLONE SHE HAS PORTRAYED! Seriously, my thoughts on this show is a combination of "wow this is some excellent writing/acting/storytelling" and "WHERE ARE ALL THE AWARDS AND WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS MORE".

My all-time ultimate fave character: Kara Danvers, this adorable ray of sunshine. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: N/A
A character I used to like but now don't: N/A
A character I'm indifferent about: Winn
A character who deserved better: James. He deserves so much better than the crap they've apparently been giving him on the show lately. Ugh. And Cat, because she needs to come back onto the show. I guess I felt like she deserved more screentime and more of developing that relationship with Kara.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Alex/Maggie. Listen, I understand the importance of Alex's coming out and Maggie helping her along the way, but just judging based on the things I've seen and heard people complain about, Maggie just merely exists as Alex's love interest. That's it. I've heard that we're getting some background info from her, but it's really NAGL when you have a f/f couple and only one of them is fully fleshed out while the other is just simply there. Y'know?
A ship I've never been able to get over: Kara/James. Fuck you writers, they were perfect together, you spent an entire season of them developing feelings for one another only to pull the rug from underneath all because you didn't want to work harder for making it work in the writing? Fuck. You. /forever bitter
A cute, low-key ship: Not gonna lie, Kara/Lena has potential (it's basically Clex 2.0, lol).
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Kara/Sara and Alex/Sara. Because crossovers are fun and I really want to see the Danver sisters traveling with the Legends of Tomorrow team and meeting/befriending/crushing on/fighting alongside Sara Lance. ;)
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Kara/Mon-El. Just, ewww, no. Destroy it with fire.
My favourite storyline/moment: As I mentioned, Alex's coming out story was nicely handled with decency and respect, which was something I really appreciated. And I think the crossover with The Flash during the first season was really well-done, hilarious and perfectly handled. I want more crossovers like that in the future, and not something massive like the one that happened with the CW's DCTV lineup.
A storyline that never should have been written: Can we have a do-over with the second season, save a few storylines that were actually good?
My first thoughts on the show: This could be really bad or really good, but Kara is adorable.
My thoughts now: Oh, Supergirl, what went wrong? You showed much potential and promise in the first season, and I don't know whether to blame your downfall on the network change or just your producers, but it's such a damn shame either way. I didn't even start watching the second season, but knowing all the things I know now I'm glad I didn't. At least we still have S1?

Date: 2017-02-28 11:36 pm (UTC)VERONICA MARS
My all-time ultimate fave character: Veronica Mars
A character I didn't used to like but now do: I don't know, I don't think there were any? None that I can recall at the moment.
A character I used to like but now don't: I'll admit to finding Logan interesting in the beginning (the first season), but the writing after that was atrocious for him that I just ended up hating him entirely. And I absolutely hate what they did to Cassidy.
A character I'm indifferent about: Eh, I'm not sure.
A character who deserved better: Meg Manning. I'm still incredibly angry and bitter about what happened to her (and I hate the fact that they did the "audience votes how this character dies" thing, like the fuck). Mac deserved better that what was done to her in the second season, after hearing what happened in the movie Gia deserved so much better. Just, so many characters deserved better, and interestingly a lot of them are women. Go figure, eh?
A ship I've never been able to get into: Veronica/Logan. Granted, I did like them at first, but after the first season I just couldn't anymore. That, and the fandom really made me despise them entirely (seriously, the level of wank and shipping wars that happened in the VMars fandom was atrocious).
A ship I've never been able to get over: Veronica/Weevil. It never happened in canon, but it should have. They are basically my OTP, tbh. ♥
A cute, low-key ship: Meg/Veronica. Just because. I mean, Meg did take Veronica as her date to the dance. So. ;)
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Veronica/Piz. I just really liked them together.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Veronica/Logan, again. I mean, as I mentioned I did like them initially but I disliked that the show kept doing this on-again/off-again thing with them which really sucked the life out of the show, to be honest. It got tired and boring with them constantly breaking up and getting back together, Logan's possessiveness over Veronica, Logan never learning from his mistakes or growing up. Just no. They brought out the worst in each other and the show would've been 1000% better if they never happened.
My favourite storyline/moment: Veronica searching for the truth of Lilly's death in the first season. It was beautifully done and handled so well, and pretty much was the only solid storyline of the entire series.
A storyline that never should have been written: All the rape storylines, including retconning Veronica's rape and having it have been Cassidy who raped Veronica because he was fucked up due to being a victim of child molestation, which that whole storyline was dumb and stupid too. I feel like after the first season they tried so hard to one-up the Lilly storyline but never could find the right momentum and direction, so they just went all over the place. The second season was a huge example of such a clutter clusterfuck of nonsense that didn't need to exist.
My first thoughts on the show: Veronica Mars is basically Buffy Summers as a teenage private investigator? Count me in!
My thoughts now: In hindsight the show is deeply flawed, I have many issues with how things were written and handled in the second and third seasons (I don't talk about the movie), but I still love and enjoy it.

Date: 2017-03-01 12:02 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Sara Lance. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Mick. His character development in the first season along was something I wasn't expecting, and was pleasantly surprised by.
A character I used to like but now don't: None come to mind at the moment.
A character I'm indifferent about: Nate and Ray.
A character who deserved better: Leonard Snart. His sacrifice heroic, but the show does feel rather empty without his snarky presence.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Kendra/Ray, because it was so random and they didn't have any kind of chemistry with each other whatsoever. Same with the apparent push for Nate/Amaya. They never shared scenes together and now suddenly the writers think they work better than the already slow-building of Mick/Amaya? Seriously? It just makes no sense.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Although this is crossing over with Arrow, Sara/Nyssa. While I like that Sara is able to having her romantic flings while on Legends, Sara/Nyssa is the endgame that I want to have happen regardless. It's sad that Nyssa cannot come onto the show, she would be a great addition.
A cute, low-key ship: Mick/Amaya.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Sara/Rip. I started shipping them during the first season, it was rather unexpected actually. Every time they shared a scene there was so much chemistry, and I like that Sara challenges Rip, she stands up to him when she doesn't like something he is planning or saying. It's that kind of relationship that I really like, to be honest. (And with S2, it's breaking my heart but it's also setting it alight at the same time re: them, and I do hope Rip becomes un-brainwashed and returns to who he was.)
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Kendra/Ray and Nata/Amaya, for reasons already stated.
My favourite storyline/moment: Sara becoming Captain of the Waverider and Team Leader in the second season has been a dream come true. Sara has been through a lot and grown so much, and this was just the next logical step in her journey.
A storyline that never should have been written: I feel like they could have done something completely different in regards to Kendra's internal struggle with her present life and the past lives and her relationship with Carter and what that means. The whole storyline with her and Ray kind of brought the show down a bit, because it seemed so ridiculous and a non-issue, mostly because we never really saw them develop as a couple (the time jump ruined that aspect, and didn't go anyway beyond that). I didn't like how Ray treated her at times, especially knowing that she was having these memories of her past and her strong connection to Carter, and it was just, not really well thought out, imho.
My first thoughts on the show: I'm only in it for Caity Lotz/Sara Lance.
My thoughts now: My silly, ridiculous time traveling show that makes no sense sometimes but I don't care because it is still fun and entertaining! All my precious characters! SARA LANCE MY BAE! ♥

Date: 2017-03-01 12:32 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Faith Lehane. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do:
A character I used to like but now don't: Willow Rosenberg and Spike. I liked them in the earlier seasons, but then the writing happened and I'm like, nope. Xander as well, especially since I've gotten older and realized I just don't really care about him that much at all and how much of a dick he was most of the time.
A character I'm indifferent about: Kennedy. I don't have strong feelings about her, but I don't actively dislike her like most of fandom did. I would have preferred Kennedy if she wasn't the rebound for Willow, though. That was awkward, but otherwise I don't particularly mind Kennedy all that much.
A character who deserved better: Tara. The more I think about what happened to her, the angrier and more bitter I get, and not just because of her death either.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Buffy/Spike. I'll admit I liked the concept of them when Spike discovered his crush on Buffy, but once they became canon it ruined everything. And in hindsight, his crush was downright predatory and stalkerish, which is no wonder why he attempted to rape her. So yeah, no, fuck that.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Buffy/Angel and Faith/Buffy. OTPs forever.
A cute, low-key ship: Giles/Jenny.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Idk?
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Buffy/Spike, especially with the way they went about it.
My favourite storyline/moment: There are honestly too many to recall.
A storyline that never should have been written: Season six.
My first thoughts on the show: I came into the show when it was in its third season, however I remember being so delighted because it was just my kind of thing. So I was definitely onboard, especially with having a high school teenage girl fighting monsters.
My thoughts now: It was an iconic series that, while it had its flaws, was a hugely formative for me and I love it so much. One of my top five favorite television shows of all time, hands down.

Date: 2017-03-01 01:54 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Max Guevara. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: I don't think anyone, really? Lydecker, maybe, because he started off as the main antagonist in S1 but became kind of an ally from the S1 finale and into S2.
A character I used to like but now don't: Alec. It's basically just the same personality used for Dean Winchester, which is kind of annoying to be perfectly honest. Overtime I just feel like Alec wasn't the greatest decision for a main addition in the second season.
A character I'm indifferent about: Eames White. He could've been an interesting antagonist but something was missing, then again the second season was all over the place so his character was part of a larger problem.
A character who deserved better: Tinga. All she wanted was to live peacefully and with the family that she created, but because of who she is she cannot, and then she gets captured and used as an object. Just seeing her in that tank was devastating, Max's reaction when she tries to rescue her even more so. :(
A ship I've never been able to get into: Max/Alec
A ship I've never been able to get over: Max/Zack, considering that there was not-so-subtle evidence that Zack definitely sported a crush on Max and their overall dynamic sparked with so much chemistry, and while I knew that they probably would've never gotten together canonically (because the show was already going for Logan/Max), I still love Max/Zack and they will forever be my OTP.
A cute, low-key ship: N/A
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Max/Zack, obviously. ;)
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Max and that pizza delivery guy, I can't recall his name at the top of my head (which goes to show how little I cared about him, lol). He was just some random dude who Max had a one-night stand with. It didn't need to go any further than that, but whatever. At least it didn't last that long anyway.
My favourite storyline/moment: Zack giving himself up to save Max, on numerous occasions. I think my favorite storyline though is Max trying to find her brothers and sisters in the first season, her mission to find the other X-5's who escaped along with her and reuniting is something I loved seeing, and it makes me disappointed that they didn't even do a follow-up in the second season.
A storyline that never should have been written: Most of the second season, to be honest.
My first thoughts on the show: A girl kicking ass and taking names? Sign me the fuck up.
My thoughts now: The first season was gold, the second season not so much. I think I have rewatched the first season more times than the second to be honest. Overall though, this was a lovely show that I wished more people had watched, or at least had a fandom (seriously, there is nothing on Tumblr and if there is it's just Jensen Ackles fans making things all about him and none of Max or the other characters, ugh.)

Date: 2017-03-01 02:03 am (UTC)I can see that. So indifferent are you to Ames White that you don't even care to spell his name correctly. ;)
A character who deserved better: Tinga. All she wanted was to live peacefully and with the family that she created, but because of who she is she cannot, and then she gets captured and used as an object. Just seeing her in that tank was devastating, Max's reaction when she tries to rescue her even more so. :(
I so agree. I've fantasized about killing Brin many times.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened:
Yeah, Rafer was just a plot device.
A storyline that never should have been written:
Joshua was a wonderful character, though.
My thoughts now:
I like Alec, but it's weird that https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/dark-angel is all Alec and Ben images (and the occasional actual dark angel).
A cute, low-key ship:
I would have said Original Cindy/Diamond. Cindy needed to get a girlfriend who didn't die.

Date: 2017-03-01 02:08 am (UTC)I actually liked Willow and Kennedy together. Not nearly as much as Willow and Tara, but Kennedy was not the annoying hate sink that fandom made her (or Dawn) out to be.
Part 1
Date: 2017-03-01 02:37 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: It's gonna be a tie between Spencer Hastings, Alison DiLaurentis, and Mona Vanderwaal.
A character I didn't used to like but now do:
A character I used to like but now don't:
A character I'm indifferent about:
A character who deserved better: Charlotte DiLaurentis. I will never forgive the show for introducing their first (and only) transgender character only to kill her off in the very next episode. It's true that she had been part of the show for a while, but we only knew her as Cece Drake, and with the reveal of who she really was the entire time we could have gotten more of her story, there was just so much potential and they basically killed her off for ~drama reasons. It is really disgusting that they did it to the only transgender character. Ugh. I'll also never forgive what they did to Maya.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Aria/Ezra and Emily/Paige. I never was a fan of Aria/Ezra just the way the entire relationship was framed, because it is inappropriate but they tried to paint it as ~romantic and ~mature, but it was boring and got more annoying and they brought the worst out in each other. And Emily/Paige, I was never a fan to begin with. I hated how Paige treated Emily, going from being nasty towards her with no apology (no matter how much internalized homophobia it was, there was no need for that) to placing Emily on this impossible pedestal to giving Emily an ultimatum regarding Alison and then going behind Emily's back anyway. Ugh.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Hanna/Caleb. They're so cute together and I love that they've both overcome so much.
A cute, low-key ship: Mona/Mike.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Spencer/Jason. I know, I know, but I can't help it, they just have this chemistry that is undeniable and I have no shame.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Emily and Sara Harvey, like what? That made so sense whatsoever especially when they just met and they tried to make it seem like Emily was super attracted and into her only within a few days time? That was the dumbest thing ever (making the whole reveal that, oh, she's really not a nice person the entire time not really that ~dramatic because yeah, we all kinda predicted it immediately the moment the character entered the scene). And of course putting Spencer and Caleb together is a HUGE DO NOT WANT. I don't know what they were thinking with the five year jump, but that was atrocious and out of character for both of them. Especially since, while I understand that Toby and Spencer were growing apart before that, Hanna and Caleb were perfectly happy together so breaking them apart made no sense. Ugh. I hated them for doing that and it's one of the reasons why I ended up quitting the show.
Part 2
Date: 2017-03-01 02:37 am (UTC)A storyline that never should have been written: Oh god, there are so many. Seriously, if we could cut down all the ridiculous and pointless storylines that happened on this show, the entire series run would be pretty much three seasons worth of the actual plot. But for particulars, the fake-out with Ezra being "A" was the biggest disappointment of all, and of course the five year jump. That one was the biggest one for me, personally. I quit watching the show when that happened. Not just because they killed off Charlotte after a disappointing mid-season finale, but also because of the relationship switching and the direction wasn't what I thought it was going to be.
My first thoughts on the show: I was intrigued. I like good mysteries and ones dealing with teenagers trying to figure out who killed their friend while possibly being stalked by that very person who might've been responsible? I was very fascinated and I kept on watching because it was addictive.
My thoughts now: It had potential, but all the plotholes and continuity errors and messing with characterizations and writing terrible subplots and storylines, I just couldn't take it anymore. I stopped watching and quite frankly I'm glad I did because it doesn't seem like I'm missing much anyway. Such a shame, really. The show had the potential to be a good mystery, and it had it's moments I'll give it that, especially the friendship between the girls, but overall it just lagged on too long with unnecessary fillers and nonsense that cluttered everything up.

Date: 2017-03-01 02:52 am (UTC)I so agree. I've fantasized about killing Brin many times.
I felt horrible about Brin too, though. She was a victim of Manticore's brainwashing and was basically reprogrammed and I really wished that Max could have saved her. But I suppose once you were underneath Manticore's control there is no going back. :/
Joshua was a wonderful character, though.
He was, I agree. I keep forgetting the adorable friendship Max and Joshua had. But the entirety of the second season was just really, really weird. They tried to fit too much information and plot in a short amount of time, and it went into some really weird places that just didn't fit into the world that had already been established in the first season.
Yeah, it makes me sad and a bit frustrated. Dark Angel already had a small fandom to begin with, but it's so depressing that I see nothing but Jensen Ackles whenever I go looking for anything in relation to the show, despite the fact that he really wasn't that big of a deal on the show to begin with (not to mention I've seen people only start with S2 instead of S1 for that reason and just, ugh). I want to see the amazing ensemble cast, I want more Max-centric stuff (her being the main fucking character, y'know). I wish I knew how to make gifs because otherwise I would be spamming the hell out of the tag with all the creations and introducing people to the show that way. Sigh.
