Give me a TV series and I'll tell you:It is perfectly okay to give me more than one show, just so you know. This can also be extended to things not strictly television specific (webseries or film series, for example).

Date: 2017-02-28 01:35 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Draco Malfoy. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Ironically enough, Draco Malfoy. I didn't think much of his character at first but of course, a combination of the fandom and the development seen in Half Blood Prince it led a whole new appreciation of the character, so much that he rose to become my favorite character of the series. I just love that little shit so much.
A character I used to like but now don't: I don't really know? Perhaps Dumbledore, even though I didn't have strong feelings for him initially I definitely don't like him now, especially when you realize the shit he put Harry through.
A character I'm indifferent about: Most of the Weasley's.
A character who deserved better: Sirius Black (I was in denial for such a long time after his death), Remus Lupin (same, only more disappointment in the lack of recognition of his character in the last book), and the Malfoys for not getting the character development they deserved, particularly after the events from the last two books.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Most of the canon pairings (Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione), and when it comes to fandom, oh boy, there's quite a list when it comes to the wide variety of ships that I just couldn't get into or even understand.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Harry/Draco, a.k.a. my ultimate OTP. The fact that there's still an outpouring of fanfic for them and that I'm still reading it after all these years says something. ♥ ♥ ♥
A cute, low-key ship: Hermione/Krum. I thought they were adorable together.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I don't think they're necessarily unpopular, but I always loved Harry/Hermione and, later, Harry/Luna.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny.
My favourite storyline/moment: This is predictably biased, but I will have to say Draco's entire arc in Half-Blood Prince. More so the film than the book, because we got a chance to see what was happening to him. It was really beautifully done to demonstrate such development of his character from the nasty little shit he had been previously. It's something I wish JKR had expanded on in the final book, because all that potential was there. Also, Prisoner of Azkaban, being my favorite book, I liked that the plot wasn't centered around Voldemort as the rest of the series was.
A storyline that never should have been written: The entirety of the epilogue. Ugh.
My first thoughts
on the showthe series: I got into the series when the first movie came out (on VHS!) and was curious enough to pick up the books. So my first thoughts were probably along the lines of thinking it was interesting, also magic and wizards/witches? Count me in!My thoughts now: THIS IS SUCH A TRAGICALLY BEAUTIFUL (but also terribly flawed) STORY THAT HAS TORN MY HEART OUT AND RIPPED IT TO SHREDS AND I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS AND I NEED TO ANALYZE THIS ENTIRE WORLD AND GIVE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS AND JUST, UGH, FICTIONAL WORLDS AMIRITE?

Date: 2017-02-28 02:15 pm (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Carmilla Karnstein. ♥
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Perry. Although to be fair, I didn't dislike her, I just was rather indifferent to her character at first because we didn't see nearly enough of her at the start to really form an opinion other than her being LaFontaine's neurotic and "in complete denial of the paranormal" best friend, but then things got really interesting in the second season onward and I enjoyed seeing her backstory in Season Zero.
A character I used to like but now don't: I went back and forth with Laura, particularly in the second season, but we were supposed to question her choices and actions at that point. I disliked Laura for the things she said to Carmilla and the way she acted, but that was the point of her character development.
A character I'm indifferent about: Danny.
A character who deserved better: Funnily, Danny kind of deserved better in the third season. She wasn't really present aside from a few scenes and voice acting moments, and at the end everything about her character went unresolved? I'm hoping there is something more for her in the movie. Same goes for Kirsch as well. I also think that J.P. deserved better, because while he was incredibly helpful my heart hurt for what happened to him. And Mattie, as well. It was a shocking moment when she was killed, and although we saw her plenty of the third season as a spirit, I still think she deserved much better.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Danny/Laura. Something about them together rubs me the wrong way, mostly because of how Danny treated Laura in the first season, which she was rightfully called out on.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Carmilla/Laura. Sure, they had their ups and downs, but the fact that this is a canon F/F relationship that didn't end tragically is just downright amazing and beautiful.
A cute, low-key ship: I don't know whether I ship it romantically or platonically, but I really enjoyed the relationship between Danny/Kirsch, since I thought it was adorable, which makes what happened in the third season so heartbreaking (Kirsch still believed in Danny even after everything, just ow my heart). Also LaFontaine/JP connection I found rather adorable, as well.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Idk if there is one? At least not one that I enjoyed, anyway.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: N/A
My favourite storyline/moment: Season Zero was super fun because, while it was obviously a sponsored minisode interlude they worked it in perfectly with the lore of the show, and it provided us with some amazing backstory for some of the characters. Season three was filled with so many perfect moments and storylines: everything involving the sentient magical library, bringing in Laura's father briefly, the alternate universe arc, it was all so beautifully crafted and well-done all around.
A storyline that never should have been written: Nothing comes to mind because I feel like everything that was presented in the webseries had its purpose and fit perfectly, the storytelling was top-notch from beginning to end so I have no complaints whatsoever.
My first thoughts on the show: Seeing the gifs and people talking about it, I was rather curious as to what it was about. All I knew it featured plenty of women and LGBT representation, and I was already intrigued by one character being described as the "useless lesbian vampire", lol.
My thoughts now: BEAUTIFUL PERFECT WEBSERIES, EXCELLENT STORYTELLING. SAD IT'S OVER. BUT MOVIE COMING OUT THIS YEAR YAY! No seriously, I never imagined that I would have loved this webseries, but I basically marathoned the first season in an entire afternoon (before the second season had come out, btw) and I was immediately hooked. And I could not have asked for a better webseries than this. Three seasons, and it wrapped everything up beautifully. ♥
