Give me a TV series and I'll tell you:It is perfectly okay to give me more than one show, just so you know. This can also be extended to things not strictly television specific (webseries or film series, for example).

Date: 2017-03-02 08:39 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Nikita Mears and Alexandra Udinov.
A character I didn't used to like but now do: Amanda. It's not that I didn't like her, it's just at first I didn't think much of her aside from the fact that the fabulous Melinda Clarke was playing her and she was wonderful as always, but as her role grew to being the main antagonist of the series, as did my love for the character. She was perfection.
A character I used to like but now don't: Nobody.
A character I'm indifferent about: Percy. He was alright for an antagonist in the first two seasons, but he was just more of an annoyance than anything else.
A character who deserved better: Ryan. :(
A ship I've never been able to get into: I wasn't that into the relationships Alex was involved in, to be honest.
A ship I've never been able to get over: Nikita/Michael, and just how amazing they were as a couple. I feel like they were one of the few mature relationships I've seen on television, and that is incredibly rare (especially on a CW show). They made their relationship work, and even when there were obstacles they worked through them and just, ugh, they were perfect. I'm happy that they got their happy ending. :)
A cute, low-key ship: N/A
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: N/A
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: N/A
My favourite storyline/moment: When Alex was on her separate mission to return to Russia and go to her family home and discovering that her mother was still alive. That whole storyline was heartbreaking in many ways. Also it was the reunion of Alex and Nikita, which while I didn't like that they were apart, but it was necessary for Alex to kind of find herself again and come back with forgiveness in her heart, which Nikita always provided. And I really liked it when Alex basically accepted her role as an Udinov. That was a big step for her. I also really enjoyed it when Nikita got her revenge on those she promised she would, such as Percy and Amanda. Justice was served and it felt so good.
A storyline that never should have been written: I honestly can't remember anything that I felt shouldn't have been written, to be honest.
My first thoughts on the show: Woman kicking ass and taking names? I'm so there.
My thoughts now: Nikita was a perfect example of a reboot done right. It was amazing, and I'm sad that it's so underappreciated. But at least it ended on a happy high note and I'm just so utterly grateful for this show. ♥

Date: 2017-03-02 09:25 am (UTC)My all-time ultimate fave character: Alice Abernathy, followed closely by Claire Redfield.
A character I didn't used to like but now do: The Red Queen, for obvious reasons.
A character I used to like but now don't: Nobody, really. I mean, the series didn't have that many characters consistent throughout the films aside from a few.
A character I'm indifferent about: Dr. Isaacs and Whesker
A character who deserved better: Considering the plot and nature of the series, pretty much most of the characters who either didn't make it or we don't know about their fates. Like, we never quite got answers as to who survived and who didn't from previous films unless they we saw them perish in some form (seriously, what happened to Jill? Chris Redfield? Kmart? Ada Wong? We can assume they died but if it wasn't explicitly stated, are they really?) I think the deaths that got me emotional is definitely Rain in the first movie (and her civilian clone in Retribution), I felt like she deserved a better fate than what she was given.
A ship I've never been able to get into: None really, to be honest, since there wasn't much romance featured in these films to begin with. Only passing ones that either ended tragically or were all just a lie. And most of the fandom collectively agrees that Alice herself is shippable with anyone, especially with the ladies, which I also agree with as well. So. ;)
A ship I've never been able to get over: Alice/Claire, because, let's be honest their relationship over the course of the film series (Extinction, Afterlife and The Last Chapter) they are basically girlfriends. The final film solidifies that completely, zombie fighting girlfriends forever. ♥
A cute, low-key ship: Alice/Carlos.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Alice/Rain and also Alice/Jill. I don't know if they're unpopular though, considering that femslash dominates this fandom. ;)
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: N/A
My favourite storyline/moment: The fight sequences were always my favorite bits, giving us so straight up action moments with amazing stunts and effects. Extinction and Retribution had some of the best choreographed sequences, added bonus with some of the slow-motion moments which looked amazing.
A storyline that never should have been written: I mean, I would've liked it if some characters hadn't died or were absent in the films. Does that count?
My first thoughts on the
showfilm series: Woman as a badass main character kicking zombie ass? Fuck yeah! Of course, I was watching the films back in the early 00s and I was definitely all in for the zombies and whatnot, and it was pretty damn cool so of course I was in.My thoughts now: I love this franchise so, so much. Like to an annoying degree do I love these films. Alice is one of my favorite action movie heroines and she basically made this franchise what it is, to be honest. I love Alice being badass, I love her relationships with the other badass women featured in this series, and I just love it all. I don't care about the flaws or the ridiculousness or that it doesn't follow the video games. I will defend this series with my life, okay?

Date: 2017-03-03 12:44 am (UTC)I was hoping that for the final movie of the franchise they would've at least brought back some of the recurring characters throughout the series, or at least the ones we can assume didn't die from the previous film or don't know the fates of. It's one of the things that I liked about Retribution since it had that formula and setup as being kind of a nice throwback with the returning of such characters in a way, like Jill Valentine and Ada Wong, since it would've added a whole lot more emotional weight to the final film of the franchise. Perhaps some of the actors weren't available, idk.
(At least in my headcanon though they all survived, with Alice and Claire being zombie fighting girlfriends and adopting all these people into their little family. Hee.)

Date: 2017-03-03 11:39 am (UTC)Still, it would've been nice to at least had some kind of mention of the characters and there whereabouts. But hey, I prefer it better this way since without any mention I can just headcanon they all survived and are okay. ;)
(And The Final Chapter is quite good! I enjoyed myself, and I think you will too if you already love the franchise.)
