ANGEL: THE SERIES

My all-time ultimate fave character: Cordelia Chase (and by extension Faith, because she had her major character development on that show).
A character I didn't used to like but now do: I can't really think of someone at the moment.
A character I used to like but now don't:
A character I'm indifferent about: Wesley. He had an interesting character arc and development himself, though I didn't have strong feelings about him either way, if that makes any kind of sense.
A character who deserved better: Fred. I mean, I really liked what Amy Acker did with Illyria, but Fred deserved so much better. I mean jeez, that episode was so emotionally brutal, much more brutal than "The Body" from BTVS. Fred's last words being "why can't I stay?" just destroy me every single time. Also Cordelia, though there is lots to be said about her treatment on the show so I won't get into that, but damn. I wanted more for Cordelia's character and I feel like it wasn't justified enough with her final episode.
A ship I've never been able to get into: Cordelia/Connor, though let's be honest that was intentionally supposed to be squirky as fuck. Also I wasn't that into Fred/Wesley.
A ship I've never been able to get over: The "what could have been" with Cordelia/Doyle.
A cute, low-key ship: Fred/Gunn.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: Faith/Angel. I just really enjoyed their dynamic a whole lot.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Cordelia/Connor.
My favourite storyline/moment: Everything revolving around Faith's entire character arc. She had some amazing growth and, not to be biased, but her episodes were perhaps my absolute favorites for that very reason.
A storyline that never should have been written: I wasn't fond of the fourth season, I don't think I remember most of it to be honest, so there's that. I will say I wished they hadn't brought in Spike into the fifth and final season, since it kind of makes his sacrifice in the series finale of BTVS kind of pointless. Did it make for some hilarious bantering between him and Angel? Yeah, but aside from that he just wasn't needed that much.
My first thoughts on the show: I mean, I obviously was going to watch it because it was a spin-off from BTVS. I was curious to see where it was going to go, since it had a different feel and tone, and seeing that Cordelia was part of the show made me more intrigued.
My thoughts now: It wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed myself. The last two seasons weren't the best, but regardless it ended on a strong note. I really need a rewatch soon.

Total agreement about Fred- I loved Illyria but what happened to Fred hurt.

I'll be honest, I don't think I've seen that episode more than a couple of times, because it honestly hurt so much. It was watching a beloved character slowly and painfully die in the most worst way possible. And the fact that Fred tried to defy that, tried to say that she wasn't going to die that way, and yet did, hurt even more. Just. :(((((
