++ Here are two new friending memes.

++ In preparation of the new Muppets show, this teaser with Miss Piggy and Nathan Fillion is both hilarious and absolutely perfect. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why they had her and Kermit divorce, so she can shamelessly flirt with the male guests that will be appearing, lol.

++ Thanks to woodycakes for introducing me to Flesh and Bone, a new upcoming STARZ series. It's a ballet drama, but will be featuring a lot of the darker aspects of the dancing world, including the pressures, the personal hardships and decisions and will definitely be character-driven. Already when I saw it was about ballet and dancing, I was immediately drawn in, but then there's the added layer onto it that I'm intrigued by. I know most people are tired about having everything be "darker and grittier" in order to be seen as interesting or taken seriously, but with dancing, and especially with ballet, it's a subject that isn't necessarily taken to that level (besides with Black Swan) and I'm curious to see which direction this show will take with it. If nothing else, I'll be in this for the dancing aesthetic, naturally. Furthermore, this has one of the actors from Center Stage, who honestly hasn't aged at all.

Oh yeah, I'm totally okay with Nathan Fillion getting hit on by a pig, it seems perfectly normal to me. :D

I hadn't heard of Flesh and Bone before. It looks interesting. I must say that I've never been interested in ballet and watched Black Swan more for the supernatural and for the f/f than for the ballet, but I might check out the pilot and see if this works for me. Also, I know the leader of the troup from playing Claire's boyfriend on House of Cards.

I half expected the "ruggedly handsome" line to have been said, but that was fine, too. Especially since we all know what his naked bum looks like, thanks to Firefly. ;)

As someone who has danced throughout her life, I'm kind of addicted to anything dance-oriented. I love all those cheesy inspirational dance movies. So seeing something take a different take on it should be interesting, and I will certainly be seeing whether it'll be worth investing in.

Flesh and Bone does look interesting, and I can definitely understand how people can get tired of the whole 'darker and grittier' approach to things lately; ballet is definitely a tough profession and I can see how it can be a drama.

The pressure and expectations, especially. It's a profession that many people tend to brush off as simply being dance, but there is a lot of high tension and challenge going into that line of work, and while I've never personally experienced that myself when I've been dancing, doing something for an elite dance company can have its major ups and downs, depending on individual experience of course. While it will obviously be dramatized for the show, it should be interesting seeing where they go.

I'm not happy about it, either. I honestly don't understand the nature of this decision. I mean, yes divorce happens all the time and it's important to show, especially to kids, that there's nothing wrong with that. But there could be another way of going about it if that were the case.
