++ There are still days available for the monthly questions meme. Both new and old friends can join in, so if you haven't submitted you still can!

++ First look at the Desolation of Smaug extended edition DVD. I am ridiculously excited for this, probably more than I should be, but I've been waiting for the extended version in this film ever since I saw it in theaters. (◕‿◕✿) The only downside is that I have to wait until November, but at least once it arrives it will soothe the ache for the third and final movie the month after.

++ My ways of watching shows has drastically changed over the years. Before I used to like watching shows live, know the schedule in which they appeared in, and if the two overlapped I would record one and watch the other. Nowadays I find I just don't have that amount of energy anymore. I think having more options for watching things has helped in that department for allowing me to catch up on my own time. I also prefer binge watching shows, especially new shows, rather than waiting a week (or longer) between episodes. For my main shows I will try to watch weekly, but with others I'm willing to wait until I can marathon them straight through, even if it sometimes means they will remain on my queue for a while which unfortunately will set me back to catching up on a show that is still going. But I'm surprisingly okay with that.

I am so excited for the extended version! I didn't realize it was getting released so soon, that is awesome!

Binge watching is way better! I find some shows aren't as good if you watch them week to week. There's actually a few that I really loved but when I had to wait a week to watch new episodes I kind of just dropped them. The only time I watch them when they air is when I have a high likelihood of being spoiled for it now. It's just better.

I'm just super excited for everything, with this along with what will be coming out for the promotional stuff for BOTFA. I'm in a constant state of being scared/excited/not knowing what to feel because I'm continually being IN UTTER DENIAL about the third being the final film.

Yeah, when you have a lot of shows, eventually there will be moments when you have to play catch-up because you've fallen behind and I just think it's kind of exhausting doing that. So why not just wait until the season is finished to just binge on it? It's better and you're in control of when you watch it, instead of it being the other way around.

I am totally with you there! They've done such a fantastic job making the book into movies! The book is pretty awesome, but the movies add a certain depth that just makes me care about everyone so much more! I am complete denial over things that are supposed to happen in the film.

Especially since broadcasting companies love to do those wonderful hiatuses. Oh we were just on hiatus for over a month? Here's one episode and another two week hiatus then another episode and a week hiatus. It just ruins the flow and the story telling so much.

Tolkien's world is so rich that I'm grateful they extended The Hobbit to three films to allow this story to unfold and to get attached to these characters. The downside, of course, is getting so attached that in the final film it'll be heartwrenching. Of course I figure that's the point, lol.

For real, and worse is when a show will have those filler episodes or "sweep" episodes in between those times. That's when the flow of everything gets ruined, imo. It's ridiculous.
