MISHA COLLINS TO GUEST-STAR ON RINGER

The details of his role seem to be good, he looks to be a critical aspect of the story between Bridget and Siobhan, so I'm hoping that his role is recurring rather than just a one-episode kind of deal. But regardless, I'm incredibly happy that he's getting other roles and is back in the auditioning circuit. This makes me hope that he'll be getting other guest-starring roles, like for instance I want Misha to make an appearance on Nikita, or perhaps The Vampire Diaries. I am still crossing my fingers for the possibility of Doctor Who.....

Essentially, I just want Misha to become the next Mark Sheppard. ^_^

Heard about it and thought you'd be thrilled to hear that.

I second the Mark Sheppard thing. He already guest starred on quite a few shows I watched so he needs to do more of that. Maybe on H50, too.

Yeah, he guest-starred on a lot of shows prior to his success on SPN. So now post-SPN, hopefully he'll gain more attention since he now has quite a cult following of his own.

I'm happy for him and I hope this means more guest start, recurring roles and hopefully something permanent. I will watch this one ep of Ringer for him that is for sure.

I'm hoping this has opened the window for more amazing opportunities for him. I just keep remembering how many things he guest-starred on prior to being on SPN, and now that he has a cult following of his own, he can return to that but with more acknowledgment of his work underneath his belt (although he admitted that going into auditions when he mentioned SPN most producers don't know what that is, idk whether to laugh for cry.....)

I'm still bitter and angry about what the show has done to him by demoting him, and the disservice they did to Castiel's character as a whole. But I would rather Misha go off and do something and be successful in other workds, basically giving Sera Gamble and Co. the finger for losing a valuable asset to their cast.

I'm hoping it's recurring, too. I just want him to make an appearance in all my shows, tbh. Even though I still have bitter disappointment of how they handled his character on SPN (a show I am no longer watching), I would rather follow him wherever he goes than wait to see of that show feels like redeeming his character the right and proper way. Misha deserves better than that.

Besides, he has his own cult following now and hopefully other people see this and manage to get him onto their projects. :)

It was simply the stupidest thing the show ever tried on doing, because it was so unlike Castiel even when he was hanging on by a string of desperation. But that storyline didn't even last long, either. First he was "God", then he turned into Leviathan, and then he dissolved into a lake. That's it, Castiel fucking dissolved into a lake and there hasn't been a mention of his character since. Even though we're supposedly going to be dealing with Dean's "guilt" over it, which we haven't even gotten to despite everything they've been together.

(lol, yeah, even though I am no longer watching I still keep tabs on what is happening, and facepalming because wtf this is not "new" and "interesting" stuff for the show! They keep repeating the same bullshit with the brothers! With just added sexism and dumbing down the characters, and losing the majority of their viewers. Good job, show)

Well, many are holding out saying "wings or it didn't happen" which I would be thinking that too, except the show doesn't seem to give a damn about his character with all the bullshit they did with his storyline. -___-

I thought the exact opposite, actually. :( That because it perhaps happened in the past, it was limited how much he could possibly appear. Once we find out whatever the thing was.

Unless Siobhan faked her death so she could run away with Misha the Russian spy. That show I would totally be on board with.

Either way, his character is an important contributor to how the sisters got separated in the first place. So his involvement should be worth something, right? Whether we see him only in flashbacks or there's a twist in the storyline, I'm excited that Misha has gotten this part. :)

HE WOULD BE GUEST-STARRING IN EVERYTHING AND JUST MESMERIZING EVERYONE WITH HIS MERE PRESENCE. :D Seriously though, I want this to be a reality. He can invade all my fandoms and it'd be a party!

Good news! I saw it on Spoilers Guide earlier, on the Supernatural page. So is this going to be a man who came between them in the romantic sense, or something less obvious I wonder?

I'm wondering that too, and hopefully it will be a less obvious thing. Like perhaps started off as this romance thing but they'll turn it upside down into something else? Who knows? Red-herrings everywhere and all of that. I JUST CAN'T WAIT! MISHA, WITH SMG. A;LSFJDASFJD;LAJSF;D

BTW, I saw "Season Seven, Time for a Wedding" yesterday out of morbid curiousity. It was Becky with a love potion, as many people had guessed before the episode even started.

It ended with Sam and Dean talking about how Dean doesn't need to look after Sam like he's been doing his whole life and can look after himself now... which is great except that must be the millionth time they've had that conversation. It's like they live in a Möbius strip.

Why, why, why, why, why...

Ugh, I know. I mostly heard (and seen gifs) of the episode and I am cringing at all the offensiveness and triggering factors, second-hand embarrassment. Even some people who are liking this season thought this episode was the stupidest, most irksome episode ever. I am just disgusted reading about it, tbh.

Yeah, this show has become so blatant redundant now it's ridiculous. Yet the showrunner doesn't think so, which is the most frightening thing of all.....

It just makes it worse to think back to the first episode. That opening scene had such pathos. Now it's a big pile of nobody cares.

From: [identity profile] rogueslayer452.livejournal.com
Exactly. I think while some wanted the "back to basics" feel the the show again, I think the concept was lost in translation from having Sam and Dean becoming brothers once again to the "repeating the same shit we've dealt with before previous seasons ago" where nobody gives a shit, which is by far the worst kind of redundancy you can do in storytelling. :/

S'no wonder the anime ended with the Season 2 finale, really. Have you checked it out?

I haven't yet.

I wonder though, why couldn't they deal with the angel/Heaven storyline considering that is a huge chunk of the mythology of the entire universe. And doesn't anime really enjoy those kinds of storylines anyway? I would love to see their rendition of S4 and some of S5 (perhaps they can have the proper ending for the series!) Granted, I'm biased, the show only got exciting for me once the angel storyline was introduced and I would love to see their version of the angels.

Of course, this is if they are ever intended on doing the rest of the series. I'm sure once they were licensed they were only told to do the generic S1 and S2 stories.

Yeah, I guess Season 3 and 4 were still good and introduced some important ideas and characters. It was starting with Season 5 that I couldn't watch.

Seasons 1 and 2 had the most basic concept of the series. They may not have planned to do more, or it may have relied on ratings.

I made a post on my journal advertising and recommending the anime series recently, did you see?

I think S5 started off strongly enough given the build up of the mythology they had, but fell apart midway.

If the anime were to do an extension of what they already did, they should definitely focus on the mythology introduced in S4 more than anything else, with minor (a.k.a. the non-faily) parts of S5 to be their final conclusion to the anime series. Those are just my thoughts, anyway. Granted since they add their own spin to the stories perhaps they could make it even better than how they actual show did it, lol.

Perhaps so. I wouldn't say it was better than the live action Season 1 & 2, but they did distill them and add more fun, and it was better than the live action Seasons 5-7.

Even though I am still very angry about his demotion and what they did to Cas, at least he'll be having many windows of opportunity of getting other roles and jobs where people actually respect him as an actor. :)

As I do watch Ringer, I have to say the show is very interesting, but it might not be for everyone. It's kind of a soap opera Agatha Christie mystery and it starts off a bit rocky in the first few episodes, but it has been picking up. So unless that is your kind of show you might lose interest.

See, I'm the exact opposite. I need a strong female lead, and just strong women roles in general for anything, movies/television/books/etc. I grew up having this kind of influence of strong, independent woman being predominately featured in stories, so I end up identifying with these roles more. Not that I don't enjoy good eyecandy every once and a while, but if I want a good story I end up gravitating to where there's a strong woman lead, or at least a good portion of women are part of the cast and not used as background props for the male leads.

(it makes you wonder why I even got into SPN in the first place. Honestly, it was mostly due to the mythology that drew me in, not the guys, I don't think I became fully obsessed with any male on that show until Misha/Castiel showed up, lol.)
