You know those shows where you don't necessarily watch but pay attention to thanks to fandom?

Glee has now turned into that show for me.

I don't watch it nor do I participate in that fandom, however for some reason I always end up getting drawn to watching fanvids and clips from the show itself. It's weird, but I can just understand what is going on from that and from summaries on what happened and that's enough for me. Mostly I'm only interested in Santana (aka my homegirl ♥), Brittany/Santana and Kurt/Blaine, and everything else I just don't care for. I just stick to those and ignore the rest, because it's easier to maintain sanity when the drama hits the fan.

As a sidenote, can I just say that I love that Dean/Castiel and Kurt/Blaine fans are now each other's bffs thanks to the SpoilerTV.com couple competition? The fact that kleanstiel was created warms my heart.

Other shows that I actually need to watch: Game of Thrones, because it's everywhere and I've been hearing so many good things about it, and I'm kind of lacking in good television right now, especially fantasy-based shows. I'm also still wayyyy behind on my True Blood watching.

LOL I HAVE HEARD SO MANY AWESOME THINGS ABOUT GAME OF THRONES, IT IS INSANE! ;D I have watched some clips from it which I find intriguing, and I'm quite amused that Sean Bean still looks the same as he did in Lord of the Rings. I think I'm just gonna start downloading all the episodes and marathoning them.

I gotta say, "Glee" is that show for me too. It's been a long time since I watched a full episode, but I pick up enough from clips and fandom osmosis to be somewhat invested. In Kurt, Kurt's dad, and Santana/Brittany, mostly. :)

Oh and I second "Game of Thrones". I think it's really up your alley!

I watched the pilot before it became the big thing it is now, however now it's nothing like how I thought it originally was gonna be. Which is just as well, I suppose. However, I find myself getting attached to anything Santana-related (which furthers my girlcrush on Naya Riveria, hee)

I think I'm gonna hafta download the episodes and marathon them, then. :)

For the record, I really dislike Game of Thrones. But i'm a fan of the books. The books are a realistic take on what that kind of world would seem like. They portray the sexism that would exist without approving of it, and within the bounds the women succeed and are strong in their own right. And the sex scenes are well-written and not just all about the men. The TV series ups the sexism and is filmed in such a way that it seems to approve of it. And the varied, equal sex scenes of the book have become one-not sex scenes where the women are naked and the men are fully clothed and it is all about the male gaze and no one cares if the women actually enjoy it. And so many of the nuances of the series are gone.

That said, if you can get past all that, it is well acted, and they do a lot right. It is just that I couldn't get past the stuff they were getting wrong.

Glee is awesome sometimes and awful most of the times. Some of the characters make me want to just choke them, specially a couple that I will not name. However, watching Blaine/Kurt, Santana/Brittany and Puck/Lauren makes it up to me. Not to forget Kurt's dad.

Game of Thrones is everywhere. Tempted to watch it.

lol, I think I know the couple you're referring to. So many people are just over it and annoyed with it all the same. I don't bother with them. I mainly really love Santana/Brittany and Blaine/Kurt because, well, adorableness! ♥ And Santana is truly the best thing out of this show, imo.

Definitely watch Game of Thrones. I'm reading the books now and, as a poster above said, there are some glaring differences (sex scenes up the wazoo, since this *is* HBO) but none so glaring as to bother me. One of the biggest problems I have with both books and series is that women often get the short end of the stick, but to be honest, the men aren't treated much better.

Also, you need to watch it for the slash potential. It's *everywhere*.

Yeah, I've heard those complaints here and there, however from the majority of folks it is quite good so I'm definitely checking it out regardless. And yeah, I've heard that not everything is shiny and happy, in fact it gets worse for the characters as things go on. (According to my sister who has read the books, who has been taunting me with vagueness about what is gonna happen)

Oh believe me, after seeing that homoerotic shaving scene, I have no doubt about it with the slash. ;)

Yes, watch Game of Thrones. It's really good. And this is coming from someone who read the books and hardly ever likes adaptations.

The friendship between the Dean/Cas and the Kurt/Blaine fandom is all kinds of awesome. As is the friendship between the Supernatural and the Doctor Who fandom. No idea where that one came from but I love it.

I have the first couple of episodes of Game of Thrones waiting for me. I liked the book a lot, but I haven't had much time for TV over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, it'll be good, and we'll have another fandom in common!

Hehe, we seem to have lots of fandoms in common. Not that I'm complaining because hey, braintwins! ;D

I think Klaine is the best thing to ever come out from Glee in terms of couples. That and Brittany/Santana, of course. I mean, the fact that Kurt and Blaine was the first actual male/male kiss (and one that actually counted I should say) made me all gooey and giddy inside, not gonna lie. They are just so damn cute together. Plus, not gonna lie, I love that Darren Criss has gotten himself out there. :)
