I had forgotten how fucking amazing of a movie Cruel Intentions is. It's so scandalous and fucked up, yet so perfect at the same time. Rewatching it now I get an entirely different perspective than when I first watched it years ago when it first came out, for example getting more of the dirtier jokes and blatant innuendos. Not that I didn't know they were dirty at the time, it's just you don't get them in the same way as you do when you get older, you know? Anyway, it really is a movie everyone needs to see if they haven't. It's something my generation can watch and be all, "yeah, we watched shit like this and it was epic!" Because it is, I practically have memorized the entire movie, I can pretty much quote the whole thing. The one-liners and dialogue in this movie are just that priceless. Plus, watching it again gave me some interesting random thoughts:

* Sarah Michelle Gellar really needs to do more movies like this. I think she does well playing the fabulous manipulating bitch, lol.

* Joshua Jackson playing the gay friend of Sebastian will never not be amusing to me.

* Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, you break my heart because watching this makes me realize that you two broke up for real in real life. I has sadface now. :(

* "E-Mail is for geeks and pedophiles" <--- Oh, how times have changed. lol

* We really need more movies like this. Not like those guy-humor movies or anything that seems to be the "in" thing these days idk why since those are boring and stupid, but the storytelling of such movies like what Cruel Intentions did to the audience. This is something I miss about the late nineties, we had some pretty awesome shit back then, these are what I consider the "classics" of our generation. Ah, nostalgia, the memories.

Word, all I do is re-watch my older movies save a fewer newer ones because what is getting released today is lame; and has been lame for far too long.

Which explains when I hardly go to the movies anymore these days. I used to go at lot back then and now there's nothing that really has peaked my interest in the recent years. And I don't know what it is, originality? So many movies are being remade that don't need to be? Too much CGI or relying too much on famous celebrities and not enough to the story? I'm not sure.

I'm sure every generation has their "whatever happened to the good movies" moment, but it makes me wonder about the pattern we see.

(Although seeing the movies that are to be released this year, I'm wondering if that pattern might be broken, at least for me, because there are quite a few movies I definitely want to see in theaters)

Oh yes! That movie was both funny and erotic and trippy as hell!

It's the movie where I look back and go, "and my parents allowed me to watch this movie when it came out? O_o" because seriously, the blatant innuendos. Then again, I watched a lot of inappropriate movies back in the day. lol

Yes. I pretty much watched all her movies after I finished Buffy, and I'm sorry to say I wasn't impressed. But how much acting do you really get to do when you're playing the blonde victim in a horror movie?

There's something weird about that. Joss created Buffy as a reaction to the stereotype of the girl who always dies in horror films, yet SMG who plays this kick ass character ends up getting lots of roles in horror films.

I'd never thought of that! Heh.

It's just so weird! Everything is horror except Cruel Intentions, The Air I Breathe, and Veronica Decides to Die (which I haven't seen), I think. Just lots of horror. Oh, and Scooby Doo, but that was awful.

Don't forget Simply Irresistible. ;) It was cheesy bad, but I watched it just for her.

Oh yes. I watched that, too. That was the weirdest romantic comedy I had ever seen. What was with the magic crab or whatever? (and boy, does that sound dirty, lol)

I just remember that one scene where the guy was floating or something and he asked her to get her down, and she replied hilariously with a "bibbity bobbity boo" and suddenly he came crashing down, lol. XD

I honestly don't know about the plot itself. Magical crab? She had powers? idk, but whatever she did to the food people acted out her feelings. Oh, cheesy movies.

I've blocked it from my mind. But there was some sort of thing hanging out in her kitchen.

Yeah, she was a chef trying to get her business out there or something to that effect. And she had magical qualities of sorts because she would end up doing something to make a meal more ~~fantastical~~ all due to her mood.

I haven't seen the movie in a long time, but certain parts stuck out to me. XD

I remember when SMG wanted to leave television to become a movie star or something to that effect, except the majority of the movies she appeared in after her BTVS days weren't that successful or even that great (I still have yet to watch Veronika Decides To Die, but many say that it's good and very underrated.) I mean granted I loved her appearances in movies during the time when she was Buffy but now after, idk what happened. But now she's going back to television.

That is really strange, I agree.

I remembered watching this movie and came away feeling quite shocked at it but it was brilliant and I loved how bitchy Sara Michelle Gellar was in it.

I was kind of shocked because she was still Buffy Summers and seeing her in this movie was kind of startling, but in a good way. ;)

Oh, I love this movie. It's been AGES since I've seen it. It introduced me (sort of) to my favorite band, so besides the fact that I love it, it has a special place in my heart.

It's one of those movies that if you turn on the TV and it's on, there goes all your productivity for the rest of the day because you just have to watch it. ;) Of course, I can multitask because I know the movie by heart, but it gives you a bit of nostalgia while watching it. ♥ I absolutely love this movie so much.

I think "Every Me And Every You" and "Bittersweet Symphony" were my favorites of the entire soundtrack by far. Just hearing them I immediately think of this movie. ♥

Yeah, I was slightly disappointed at how she kind of disappeared after BTVS was over. I mean she did a few things here and there but, none of them that memorable as Cruel Intentions had been. I did hear that Veronika Decides To Die was good, though.
