So, it's been confirmed. Supernatural will be getting a sixth season. I've kinda already stated my opinions before about my feelings about having another season added to the five year plan and such. Again, I know nothing about what's going to be planned here on out, so here's what I'm wishing and praying for:
01. Continue with the Apocalypse mytharc from this season, extending it into the sixth season, since honestly I can't see anything topping the Apocalypse which is a huge factor into what has been built on the entire show, and it's pretty much the Big Bang that Kripke has talked about numerous of times. So more with the mythology, less with the monster of the weeks.

02. Keep Misha Collins as a regular. with plenty more Dean/Castiel sexytiems
That's pretty much it. I'm not entirely picky, but I have to say my interest with Supernatural perked up more once the introduction with the angel mythology and tying everything together with the Apocalypse and the like, the fact they amped it up with the mythology is much more fascinating than normal monster hunting cases. I mean gotta love our boys, but Supernatural is not a procedural kind of show; it's driven by heavy-arc storylines which have been woven throughout the seasons. I would much rather have the show go out with a huge big bang like ending the Apocalypse then going downhill like some shows have done in the past by adding another season just to add another season, you know?

And that's that. I worry because I care, okay people? Supernatural is pretty much my main fandom at the moment and I don't want the story to lose its finesse towards the end simply because they added another season.

Yeah, and that is what I'm deeply afraid is going to happen. I really really REALLY don't want Kripke to take that route, at all. That would be a huge setback after everything.

I just can't see it working out that way, reverting to the first season because we've progressed beyond that, we started off in that format because we were establishing their job, what they did, but still maintaining clues to something bigger along the way. That's what's kept us going. To have a sixth season where it's like "well, we stopped the Apocalypse, let's go hunting some more!" it would be rather pointless, especially everything they've gone through. I've encountered some people that think it would be fantastic because they could explore the boys getting back to themselves post-saving the world, but honestly? They can be dealing with that now instead of giving us repetitive exposition about their issues in filler episodes, that's all I'm saying. It would be like the lackluster that was S3, and we don't want a repeat of that.

I love the show and I love the boys, but sometimes I feel like the backseat driver wanting to know what the hell the main driver is doing, you know? I really hope that Kripke doesn't follow through with those thoughts, because honestly I want the show to end with the Apocalypse. We've got everything coming together that's been setup over the seasons and for them to just end it here, but then go off to something else for only one season, well...that's just a stupid move.

I just don't know. :/ I'm worried because I do love the show and I had mad respect for Kripke with him planning five seasons and wanting no more, sticking with his creative decision and not allowing outside influences guide his main objective for the show. Then this news occurs, and I should be happy because it's another season. But it just doesn't sit right. It feels pressured and forced for some reason.

LISTEN UP KRIPKE: KEEP THE APOCALYPTIC ARC! DON'T GO BACK TO MOTW FORMAT! FIRE BAD! NO! BAD KRIPKE! ANGELS AND DEMONS AND APOCALYPSE YAY! RANDOM HUNTING IS A NO NO.

I sadly think the biggest factor in it coming back for S6 is not that Kripke has some plan and feels the need for it, but that the boys are both under contract for another year and the CW has absolutely nothing going for it to replace it with.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most about the whole thing is that is has ruined what should have been a tension filled finale where anything could happen against the biggest evil you can face and turned it meaningless cause the boys have to be a-ok to go hunt down ghosts and werewolves next season.
