I'm pretty sure everyone's heard the news already, since my FList literally exploded yesterday. It's a tragic, shocking and devastating moment for us all. It's hard to believe or even comprehend what happened and I'm still unsure how I should react to it all. Without placing this post in with all the others, as I'm sure nearly everyone is sick and tired of getting depressed when someone mentions it again I'm just going to send my deepest condolesnces to Heath's family, his friends and his little girl for their loss. But I am disgusted at the media at the moment. Really.

To top this off I watched "Home" the other day, and I'd gotten tears in my eyes. Out of all the SPN episodes this is the one that does it for me. I honestly can't explain why, since they've had emotional moments before that make me go "OH BOYS!" and reach through the screen and hug them. But this was a classic S1 episode that really brought all those moments together later on.

I've also been thinking about having a marathon of Carnivale after I'm done with SPN rewatching. Since I have both seasons now (yay!) it'll be awesome.

Nothing else to report on that front. I'll be having theories for my fandoms soon. I know I've said that before but it's taking longer than I expected, between RL and everything else I've been so preoccupied. That I have to get them organized, since I know what I want to say it's a matter of writing them down into coherent sentences. But they're coming.

I know, the end really just brings on the tears. Poor boys. I wanted to hug them both during this episode, really really bad. but when DON'T I want to hug them is the question.

It's VERY good. Though I'm biased so that won't necessarily sell you to it, but if you like your shows with a mixture of mysticism, mystery, religious lore and a war between good and evil, this is definitely the show for you. So I say give it a trying chance. It's certainly worthwhile, I'll tell you that. And even if you aren't hooked immediately, the costumes and locations and reimagining the 1930s will definitely be eyecandy. :D

Man, I'm so there with you. Though I commend CTV Vancouver's entertainment coverage for sitting down and going through some of the misconceptions that were floating around. On the whole, though, the coverage has been disgusting. Why report something as fact when it isn't?

Seriously. I know I shouldn't expect decency from the media, since they think anything horrible happening to any celebrity is a freaking dance party, but would it kill them to lay off this kind of crap? Celebrity or not, this is a death of a human being, not some mutant freakshow you can publicize over the airwaves like a circus. Think about Anna Nicole Smith and how everyone was all over her death. How about a little respect for the deceased for once, Hollywood and media people.

That, in a nutshell, is what's wrong the the media/a good chunk of what's wrong with North American culture anymore. They report this stuff to a sickening degree because some people actually WANT to see it. Personally I nearly vomited when NYC's CW showed footage of the body bag on a promo for the 10 o'clock news during OTH. There was no need for that footage to even exist. I read on someone's journal that they'd heard that his family found out through the media, too, which makes the whole thing so much worse. It's like, can't you sit on something long enough to let the authorities make a few phonecalls? *sigh* Yes, people may be famous, but we don't know them, and their families have more of a right to privacy than we do to know exactly what's going on at every moment.

My God, that's terrible about Heath's family finding out through the media. They should be the first people to find out before any news about it should've been released. That's just...I am speechless. That is downright blasphemous.

People are naturally curious, but our society has gone from that to morbidly curious. I blame reality TV and the media for that.

Someone mentioned that Heath wasn't very pleased with the media either, that's why he wasn't in much news before. He managed to keep himself away from the spotlight and his family business private. And then this has to happen, going against everything he believed in. *shakes head*

I think "Best Week Ever" got it spot on in regards to the media. Disgusting.

I read that article you posted earlier today. It was wonderful and precisely what I think the media should listen to; learn to not become vultures over someone's death, respect the grieving family and friends and just back the fuck off. Seriously.

When I found out last night, all I could think about was Matilda, Michelle, and his family in Australia. I could've cared less about TDK at that point. I'm glad a couple of my friends and I were able to have some mead last night. We're also organizing a Heath marathon for next weekend. It's the least we could do for a man who was on his way of becoming one of our generation's finest actors.

When I was heading out the door tonight I saw the beginning of Entertainment Weekly which showed the first pictures taken of Matilda and Michelle after Heath's death. I was so fucking pissed and I think they had footage of whoever was the asshat who told Charlize Theron on the red carpet. Fucking hell. I was planning to go to Borders this weekend and I can't because if I see any magazine with him on the cover, I am going to break down.

Yeah, it's sad that the media is really relishing on this. I mean, they may not realize it because hey, he was a celebrity and this is their job on reporting the latest in that kind of news. But there's a difference between reporting on it and becoming to invested that you have to invade the privacy of the family. I would be outraged if someone did that to one of my family members. Do they have no respect or ethics at all? I mean seriously.

I couldn't even watch some of the scenes from 10 Things I Hate About You that someone posted in his honor, because I would've started tearing up. Even though I still feel numb over this information, it's a surreal thing to see him in a clip and realize that he's gone. Heath was truly a great actor.

From what I've heard, TMZ is/was doing a live stream of the funeral home Heath's body is apparently at. Also, the paps were following Michelle's family and some had the balls to go up to Christian Bale in L.A. and ask him about Heath. I really wouldn't have minded if Christian pulled a Patrick Bateman on their asses but he's far too classy to do that. I am going to avoid all TDK promo interviews when they start.

I watched the scene he sang in. I don't know how I was able to but I still laughed and aww'ed at the scene. He was such a cutie in that movie and I am so glad he was able to give us such a diverse category of roles at such a young age.

Oh Rogue, I am just devastated over this and I agree. TDK is gonna be SO SURREAL. I am sure I am gonna cry the MOMENT I see him on screen.

John Travolta's reaction was my favourite. He said he would give up all his awards to have Heath back.

I wish we could make it so.

OMG I KNOW! It's like, I know they're in post-production of TDK but still, it's sad knowing that's his last film. He's made wonderful films over the years and I'm sure he would've made even more. But know we'll never know. I feel so bad for his family and friends back home, especially his little girl. :( So sad.
