Day 11: Movie with a great soundtrack
I love listening to soundtracks, both instrumental scores and ones with songs, so picking one is hard.
When it comes to scores, the most recent one that comes to mind is the Dune (2021) soundtrack. It has such a unique sound, which is very fitting for the world and atmosphere the story takes place in. Furthermore is the fact that Hans Zimmer created a secondary soundtrack that was inspired by the music from the film, basically being extended and additional tracks that is more atmospheric and immersive in nature than attached to specific scenes. I've mentioned this before when discussing the film itself, but "Song of the Sisters" is the perfect auditory embodiment of the Bene Gesserit, it gives me chills in the best way. It makes me highly anticipate what will be done for the second movie.
As for movie soundtracks with songs, that's harder to pinpoint. I'm just going to say many of the movies I watched in the late 90s/early 00s had some amazing soundtracks that were deeply influential to me and my music tastes (ex: The Faculty, The Craft, Stigmata, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Queen of the Damned, etc), so I'm lumping them all together since it was a very specific point in my life that I get very nostalgic with.
Day 12: Best movie to watch on a plane flight
I have never watched a movie on a plane, nor would I know what kind of movie I would watch should the opportunity arise in the future.
Day 13: A movie that's better than the book it was based on
Practical Magic
I've ranted about this before, but the movie is much, much, much better than the source material. I would go so far as say that the movie made tremendous improvements to the story in more ways than one. I personally found the book incredibly dull with not much going on, much to my disappointment. It actually made me appreciate the movie even more, they managed to actually make something entertaining and exciting out of practically nothing. It gave the story a whimsical element along with some darker aspects, making it a perfect blend, and the characters are quite lively with actual personalities, mostly due to the amazing cast, but with the acting, the writing, the locations and set designs and vibes, the soundtrack, it all was a beautiful combination that went together so perfectly that the book pales in comparison.
