++ It was announced yesterday by Seven Seas that three new upcoming English translations of danmei novels will be available soon, including two Priest novels, Guardian and Sha Po Lang. This came as a complete yet pleasant surprise, since I've still been riding off of the Guardian high ever since recently watching the drama and consuming all the fanworks, including bits and pieces of the fan translations of the novel itself, so this news absolutely delighted me. Also, a part of me hopes that this gets people interested in the drama itself, because while the novel and the drama vastly differ from one another due to censorship and strict rules, it's still amazing nonetheless. I'm also hyped about Sha Po Lang, since we don't know when (or if) the drama adaptation will be ever be released from censorship limbo, this will be the next best thing. It makes me wonder if other Priest novels might be considered for official translation releases, such as Faraway Wanderers (what Word of Honor was adapted from) or its prequel Lord Seventh (Qi Ye).

Between these, the MXTX volumes still coming out, and The Husky and His White Cat Shizun coming out in October (the adaptation for this is also trapped in current censorship limbo), I'm going to need an entire bookcase for danmei novels. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

(I know that there's been some concerns about the issues regarding the translations of some of these novels, though with the workers having unionized and Seven Seas acknowledging and supporting the unionization hopefully that means there will be more care with how things are handled and distributed.)

++ In addition to that, Love Between Fairy And Devil, a very recent Xianxia cdrama, is going to be on Netflix very soon. I'd been curious about it since visually the aesthetics and costume designs are absolutely gorgeous, also since hearing that it features bodyswapping at some point between the two mains, which I'm very much interested in seeing those kinds of shenanigans, which is quite a popular trope in Asian dramas, though it's not really surprising considering transmigration, but I digress.
