2. The other day I was directed to a fantastic link: Tricia Helfer's appearance in Playboy (and someone posted non-scans from the magazine, in excellent quality). Advisory, because it is needed since it's Playboy: the pictures include nudity and adult content which may not be suitable for some people. For me, I simply adore this photoshoot; most people think that Playboy is mainly filled with pornographic material and tacky, however these are far from it. Tricia photographs beautifully, and the shots are quite artistic and tasteful with excellent lighting. I love the black-and-white shots, the best, adds more of that artistic-style. Also, it must be said that Tricia Helfer is a Goddess. End of story.

3. Hee, I finally realized that Doctor Who is airing on BBC America.

4. Spring semester starts on Tuesday, and thankfully it's the day where I have dance as the last class. Although it'll just be orientation, nothing with physical activity until Thursday. I have already started streching and warming up my muscles from the laziness over the holiday break, so my flexibility will be intact. Which reminds me, I need a freaking Ab Lounge, stat.

I agree with what you said about Playboy; it's really a very classy magazine, for what it is. The shoots don't show much, and they're artistically of very high quality. And you're right; that's a beautiful shoot of a beautiful woman.

I used to the think that Playboy was all sex and raunchiness, but I've never thought it was like dirty dirty. Cause I think sex is healthy. Whatever. But I think all the photoshoots are so tasteful and The Girls Next Door is one of my favorite shows.

3. after seeing dr who commercials all day yesterday cause i watched the "hex" it is so going on the list. does it really matter if i watch it in order though? cause i was just gonna watch some of the BBCamerica's airing of it but i dont know how confusing that'll be

Hmm, well it pretty much depends how familiar you are with the setup of the new series of Doctor Who. There's some continuity with references throughout, and obviously the regeneration from the Ninth Doctor to the Tenth Doctor, but otherwise I don't think it matters. Personally, I would suggest seeing them in chronological order, but it's not that difficult to catch up.

Playboy has a reputation for being exploited as a "naughty magazine", and basically is a forbidden word for a lot of people. I can understand some arguments over its content, however the magazine was meant for mature adults who can handle that kind of material. Besides, the photos are tasteful and defined as elegantly classy and done by professional photographers instead of being overly explicit and trashy. Sex is healthy, I definitely agree. Humans are sexual beings by nature, and I believe we should be comfortable with our sexualities instead of repressing them (though not excessively to a point where it becomes an addiction; respect and moderation is key).

I've heard of The Girls Next Door but haven't had a chance to sit down and watch it. How do you like it? Is it good?

Precisely. I explained in the comment below that Playboy has a bad reputation because of how it's been treated by those who believe that any woman posing for such magazines are disgraceful and degrading themselves when they truly aren't. Surely, there's arguments left and right whether it's ethical based on personal beliefs, but I firmly believe that Playboy approaches the situation in a mature and sophiscated manner unlike other adult entertainment magazines (e.g. Penthouse and Hustler). Their photoshoots are based off of elegance and artistic value rather than just showing a woman's "naughty bits".

I agree, it's a classy magazine. Obviously a magazine designed for mature adults who can handle the material within it, but still. It's not obscene or disgusting as it's been portrayed as. I mean, take Charisma Carpenter for example --- she mentioned in an interview that she enjoyed posing for Playboy because it was an experience of "coming out of her shell" of not being shy. I like that.

Oh and yes, Tricia Helfer is gorgeous is those pictures. *loves her*

Definitely watch at least one episode to see if you like it. Although I do have a small suggestion that may be an alternative: you can possibly rent the series from your local video rental store, like Blockbuster. I don't know if all video rental stores do it nationwide, but that's where I found some shows (Dead Like Me, Prison Break). Though it's disc by disc. But if they do have it where you are, you can watch the first few episodes and decide from there.

I don't know if that suggestion will help or not, but there you go. :)

the blockbuster closest aka the one my mom *might* take me to is kinda small so they only have really popular US shows that i've seen except for the Office....but i'm hoping for a "yes" to getting netflix and they'd have it right?

I'm pretty sure they do. Doctor Who has been released in the US, I don't see why they wouldn't have it on NetFlix either.

Totally agree on Playboy. Frankly, I'd subscribe if I had the money cause I think the articles are also interesting. I was actually thinking of applying for a job there too, to write. But I think my mom would freak out since she's a prude.

The Girls Next Door is amazing. Whenever it's on, I can't turn it off.
