01. Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] grdnofevrythng! ~

02. Oh holy hell, it's hot as fuck out here. Yesterday it was in the upper ninties I believe, which my sister and I were out shopping and seriously didn't want to stay out longer than we had to because it was too hot and sticky; the humidity was simply unbearable. Once you step outside you'll feel as though you're inside an oven about to be baked. I'm so happy I went to the State Fair before the heat started rising as it has been. This is why, suddenly, I'm wishing it would just be autumn or winter already. As much as I love summertime, these heat waves are getting ridiculous that we just need those random summer thunderstorms or something.

03. I just have to say that I love Dexter, like seriously. There should really be some Heroes/Dexter crossovers or something along those lines. How awesome would it be for our two favorite serial killers to meet? The plotbunnies are swirling, people....

04. After much contemplating over everything that's been circulating in fandom lately, with the anxiety and concern of what's going to happen in Heroes season two, I've decided to not be completely overwhelmed or concerned of what's to come. I've realized that there are things people are worrying about, such as the expanded character casting and certain storylines, although these are just the small tidbits (and I have read nothing furthering into what this season is mainly about, and expect to remain spoiler-free for that); we have yet to actually see this all play out in the upcoming season. Don't get me wrong, I'm anxious too but I'm being optimistic. I've let everyone else's concerns and worries affect my perspective over S2 when I shouldn't have, because that only leads me to wondering if Kring and Co. are going to go the route of disregarding the substance of the story and go for what's flashy and audience-grabbing. Besides, other people's expectations may differ from mine.

But it's understandable, because the first season did so well that any dedicated fan would have higher expectations for the next season, even if it is somewhat unrealistic in itself. Certain shows have been known to have a great first season but are lacking in the later seasons or just become ridiculous (e.g. VMars, LOST) therefore losing its fanbase. I seriously don't want Heroes to end up like that, and I do have faith that Kring knows what he's doing and had the idea from the beginning of the show's direction. So, I'm staying optimistic and keeping an open-mind to where S2 will lead to and not let other's thoughts/opinions influence my excitement.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on the subject and probably won't come up again until the second season premieres.

05. Completely random, but I suddenly have the urge to bake something. Brownies, cookies, a cake, whatever. That or prepare a HUGE dinner thing just for myself, and I have absolutely no idea why that is.

It's been a while with the weekly fandom updates, hasn't it? Lots of things have been happening, both in real life and in the fandom world, that has prevented this daily routine. Luckily, I haven't stopped reading and keeping tabs on the what's-what in fandom, and therefore this post will have the latest and greatest while the news is still hot. Or possibly warm. Okay, I can settle for lukewarm.

-♠- Are You On The List?: Because we just can't get enough, there's the upcoming Heroes: Origin spinoff. Much like the online graphic novels, these'll add more background information about the unseen heroes on the list which, as it's predicted, will air during the hiatus dates of the second season. Some are thrilled with this, some aren't quite sure. For me, anything related to Heroes is fine by my standards, just as long as Tim Kring knows what he's doing. It's a pretty interesting turn and certainly an idea that not many creators would think of doing after their first season has wrapped up.

-♠- The Company Family Man: As a Heroes extra, TWoP had their first podcast featuring Jack Coleman! Listen to part one and part two of the interview, and tell me that he isn't the most awesomest person ever. Seriously, I love this man. Intelligent and hilarious.

-♠- Killer Killer, Who's A Killer: For all Dexter fans, you can now pre-order the complete first season off from Amazon. Since I'm a recently converted fan of this amazing series this is such a great deal, and I'm totally pre-ordering my own copy. Which makes me anticipating the second season even though I don't have Showtime so it'll be difficult to view while it's airing, dammit.

-♠- Ayu's 1LOVE: It's been confirmed that Ayumi Hamasaki is getting married to her long-relationship with Tomoya Nagase. Rumors had been circulating for a while, but it's been officially notified that they are, indeed, planning to finally tie the knot by the end of this year. Congratulations to her! I know there's concern whether this'll effect her career and whatnot, but I have no worries over that. She's a successful young woman, and Ayu being happy is all that matters.

-♠- Can't Take The Sky From Me: The Serenity 2-disc collector's edition region 1 DVD will be available for purchase on Augst 21st. That's right folks, this is the director's cut edition where most of the special features seen on the region 4 DVDs will be on with this new release. Not only that, but there's a bonus of cast commentary with Joss Whedon, something I've been wanting since the movie came out, and the Tam Sessions. Also, have you seen the coverart? It's far better than the original US artwork (which has ATTACK OF THE ZOMBIE!REAVERS, ARGH! at the bottom and Serenity shooting lazers like Star Wars). This is much cleaner without all that clutter.
