Whoa, holy LJ mainpage makeover Batman. It's certainly...interesting. Convenient yet, weird. I like that I can see who's birthday is arriving next, though.

I should probably place this stuff in my college posts, but it's very brief and I don't feel like separating it from everything else. Concerning this summer, I had decided some time ago after thinking it through that I wasn't going to take any summer classes despite wanting to get ahead of myself in certain subjects (i.e. mathematics). I'm also considering taking online courses for the fall semester as a possible alternative so I can deal with things happening in my life right now. Which is a nice option so I don't have to deal with the stresses of having to attend classes, I can just do it from home and still keep myself from having a complete meltdown by overworking.

In other news that isn't college-related, I'm listening to the cast commentaries for the Heroes episodes, and I have to say they are absolutely hilarious, and very informative too. I hope these make it onto the DVDs, or as extras or something. This is what makes this fandom so great is not only is it just purely amazing, but the cast and crew are entirely invested in the show along with the fans. I just think that's great, a very rare gem to find these days.

ETA: Dude, LJ, I know you're undergoing changing things on the site and whatever, but not giving me comment notifications? Not cool.

1. Unlike some, I didn't necessarily watch the Emmy Awards last night. This was partially due to that I already knew who the winners were before it even aired via online results, the price for being on the West Coast, so I didn't feel inclined to watch. Though I did catch some highlight moments as people had pointed out. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert cuteness and Mariska Hargitay winning with her adorable and gorgeous self, not to mention Hugh Laurie speaking a little bit of French. Still squeeing over the Jon and Stephen moments.

2. Homework assignments have been written up and done for tomorrow. I feel as though my hands are going to fall off from writing too much (by hand, mind you). But all has been accomplished and I feel relieved. Yays.

3. Bedtime soon. Needs the sleepy time. Early morning tomorrow.

Whoa, this week went by incredibly fast. I have almost the entire weekend to prepare myself for the fall semester, which should be cake but I don't want to be unprepared on the very first day; I still have to know where the classroom buildings are located, considering how huge of a campus it is, because I don't want to be that one student who ends up running around like a maniac searching for their right class schedule (as there had been last semester, right class but wrong day to attend kind of deal). Good thing I still have the college campus map from my very first semester. But this all leaves me finding another sterdier bag to carry, since my current one isn't in reliable condition to hold the possible many books I'll probably have for my classes.

Taking a look around, I am absolutely loving these Vogue scans of Kristen Dunst as Marie Antoinette. My gosh, the costumes are fabulous! So elegant and colorful, and utterly beautiful designs. Surely, this movie is on my list.

Also, I loved it when Samuel L. Jackson appeared on The Daily Show, completely giddy with Jon Stewart about Snakes on a Plane. With that, I shall leave it with this awesome quote: "I've had it with these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane!"

Snapes on a Plane? Snakes on a Jayne? No, it's...Snakes on a Motherfucking Plane! Hee.

I suddenly realized that college classes start again in exactly one week from now. This summer went by incredibly fast, but I guess this is said almost every year and besides, I had dance class for the first six weeks of my vacation break. So time certainly does fly when one's having fun. So far, I'm really psyched for my chosen classes and my arranged schedule for them, and I recently checked on the college website and I have only two classes that I'm on waiting list. Though considering how some people dropout of certain classes after the first week or so, I think I'm good.

Earlier this evening I watched yet another episode of Angela's Eyes, and I found tonight's episode nicely put together. Spoilers for the episode along with some more information about the series learned thus far ) So now, it's all complex but it's very interesting to see where all this connects and leads to. Or, at least I'm hoping all will make sense in the end (as its been scheduled for a 13-episode run on Lifetime).

I'm trying not to get into more fandoms that I should, since it's almost time for the fall schedule and with new things premiering along with new seasons of my other fandoms, it's going to be hectic keeping track of them all. Already there's Heroes as my biggest possible new addition, and I've been sucked into the hilarity of Psych this summer, so I'm wondering what else I'm in for. Oy vey.

1. Dance class went incredibly well, and will update more about this week's schedule very soon. Hopefully a routine will be taught next week, and if not then I will create one myself for the entire class, because I am an intermediate student and I can do that. Anyway, more about that and more a little later.

2. Tonight's Daily Show and The Colbert Report made me giggle, a lot. Which totally is a given, because I love Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. But still, they are great with the funny. I liked the segment mocking the "Countdown to Doomsday" show that, apparently, aired on the SciFi Channel which I hardly was aware of. Still, the mocking was quite humorous and as always, Jon totally PWNS them with his awesomeness. Hee.

3. Our weather seems to have gotten back to normal, for now anyway. So, um, yay?

I love my Theatre class. Wait, let me rephrase that: I absolutely and immensely love, adore, and cherish my Theatre class. Seriously, I never thought I'd find such an enjoyable session, concluding with my entirely fun and entertaining professor who just makes that one hour lecture fly by so quickly, that I am mentally prepared and wishing to stay longer to see what else comes out of his mouth. I swear, my professor could become a public speaker because his voice is booming with enthusiasm and keeps you in check, and is very articulate. But it's not just about the lectures and how he explains things, it's the things in between. He mentions things that gives us, as students, a little more detail about his life and what he's like outside the college campus (and he considers himself such a son-of-a-bitch because he laughs during killings in horror flicks if he finds it hilarious, but that's what makes him so out-there enjoyable and fun; and I shouldn't judge because I, too, laugh at inappropriate times as well.)

However, that's not why I find my professor so admirable. I admire and respect him because he's a gigantic fanboy fanatic, or at least it's implied when he's mentioning them in his lectures, of several of my most beloved fandoms. For example:
1. He's a fan of Harry Potter. Someone in the class had asked a question involving the transforming between books-into-movies versus plays-into-movies, and he had immense amount of respect for the Harry Potter books because he had stated that in the upcoming GOF film they will, of course, edit chucks of the things out that are unimportant to the main plot of the book. Whereas in certain plays (i.e. Shakespeare) you cannot edit most things out because there's so much that needs explanation that it would be like taking out the middle and just having an introduction and then a killing with no subplot of climax. Plus, he mentioned that the Harry Potter books outsold the Holy Bible worldwide, and I smiled when he said that.
2. Implied that he likes Veronica Mars. Last Friday he mentioned something about actors versus performers on a theater stage, and he'd said something about Rob Thomas and his show Veronica Mars (but he also mentioned several other shows too, but I have a feeling that he would've mentioned it if he didn't watch it.)
3. He's a total theatre geek even though you cannot tell. Sometimes there's those stereotypes about men that like theatre or being in the theatre? Well, he's not one of them. He likes watching South Park, The Simpsons, he highly recommends The 40-Year-Old Virgin because he laughed so damn hard, and likes the non-censorship in the classroom because he curses like a motherfucking sailor which makes me giggle. However, he prances about and brags of all the Greek and Shakespearean goodness he's been involved in, either behind the stage or onstage performing.
4. He LOVES Greek mythology. Seriously, this man mentions mythological Greek characters whenever describing Greek theatre and it's purely aweseome.
Yes. I have adoration and absolutely respect for my Theatre professor, and find him oddly someone I'd befriend if he wasn't necessarily a busy professor and theatre producer at our college production stage. He's just a laidback and entertaining sort of guy, that anyone would be enthralled to get into a discussion -- or debate -- with. Because he doesn't judge or take sides, he just has a lovely sense of humor that is lost on many people nowadays. I will be fawning over him over the semester, no doubt about it.

College, how I love thee so!
