Today oficially indicates the beginning of the autumn season, so we shall bid out farewells to the summer that had gone by so quickly this particular year. Furthermore, happy Rosh Hashanah to everyone who celebrates it!

-♠- "Shiny, Let's Be Bad Guys!": Since Serenity had been re-released on HD-DVD, someone over at DVD File gave an unbiased review, considering he hadn't seen the series beforehand. But fret not, because this review holds wonderful praise especially for someone unaware of how the story and events happened in Firefly. This is a really thorough and detailed review that I think every Browncoat should enjoy reading. There may be some inconsistencies here and there from the gathered information (e.g. Earth-That-Was no longer in use because of a "nuclear war"), but otherwise overlooking those minor mistakes the review is nicely written.

-♠- She Saved The World, A Lot: An interesting written analysis article comparing the series finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the events of hurricane Katrina. While it may be slightly farfetched by comparing a fictional and supernatural television series to a devastating real-life event (which happened after the fact), there are some interesting pinpoints and comparisons to certain things as presented in the persons article. Plus, one can take or leave this article, however it does have the reflection of art-imitating-life. Seeing as though Sunnydale was built on the Hellmouth, dealing with End Of The World situations are just another part of life for Buffy Summers and the Scooby Gang, just like dealing with life and death situations in our reality.

-♠- ...And That Makes Us Mighty: Haven't yet ordered yourself the Done The Impossible? Look no further, as it is now available to order from Amazon, and as seen in the reviews it's highly and beyond recommended.

-♠- Joss Loves Kickass Women: As the speculations on who will portray Wonder Woman continues, there's been a rumored report that Rachel Bilson would be cast. Although it's been admitted that Rachel was oblivious about these rumors, and hadn't even been contacted by anyone for the film. Personally, I think she would definitely fit the part as Wonder Woman (considering she had already dressed the part in an episode of The OC, a surprise for Seth Cohen), though perhaps a younger version of the character. I have no doubt that Bilson would rule that role beautifully if she actually had been approached and cast, but I'm still placing my hopes and bets on either Morena Baccarin or Charisma Carpenter.

-♠- "She Always Did Love To Dance...": Just when I thought my love for Summer Glau couldn't rise above and beyond as it already is, she goes and has this in-depth interview from Dragon*Con that instantly uplifts my fangirling love for her, not to mention how adorable and well-spoken and praise-worthy she is. Gushing, me? What makes you say that? Anyway, this interview she talks about her upcoming projects, including a role in The Unit and her upcoming TV movie The Initiation of Sarah. Really nice interview.

-♠- Kuu Is JUICY: I mentioned before that Koda Kumi is being featured on a special version of MasterCard, well now there's a promotion commerical for its debut! Yays, and I do want one; though I wonder if it'll be available for people overseas and not just in Japan (and even so, could I even afford one?) Still very shiny, indeed.

There really isn't anything in terms of festivities or celebration I do for Labor Day Weekend, other than getting an extended weekend and not going to classes because of that. Which to me, that's all I need because there's been chores I've been doing and lots of college work that needed to be done before their due dates. Now that I have them partially finished with I have the rest of today to relax and such.

I've been constructing a thorough review for the season premiere of Bones, which will be arriving soon. I had to rewatch the episode again to get some missed information. It should be up either this evening or tomorrow at the latest.

Now, for upcoming film releases this winter: Pan's Labyrinth (Laberinto del Fauno, El) directed by Guillermo Del Toro. This has catched my interest initially because I'm a fan of fantasy thrillers, another reason is that the entire film will be in Spanish. Foreign films are majorly intriguing because the majority I've seen haven't fallen victim of the typical Hollywood formula, plus the entire premise follows the terrifying connection between reality of the Spanish civil war and the creative imagination of a child that comes to life; in truth, fairytales aren't harmless because the original tales were gruesome and horrific. From what I've read of reviews, this film presents just that. It's neither a fantasy nor a thriller, but a combination of them with historical events. The international trailer (spoken in Spanish, no subtitles) looks simply amazing, and I cannot wait until it hits theaters this December.

In addition to my excitement, Koda Kumi is now on a MasterCard! Holy freaking shit, I want one! Kuu on a MasterCard is of the awesome, but I'm betting it's way too expensive to get one specialized let alone keeping it in fair condition. Oh well, a girl can dream.

Hee, today apparently went better than I had expected it to be. I mean, I expected it to be like any other day that I've had however, it turned out to be a wonderfully happy day. I cannot stop smiling and spreading my glee around. There were some incidents that could've destroyed my mood, but it didn't and I'm thankful for that.

♣ Firstly, there's the potluck during dance class this evening. We had a gigantic load of food brought in, including ice cream, different kinds of pizzas, mixtures of fruits and juices and tons more. We also watched a video including different performances of advanced dancers over the years. My favorites included an Asian Fan Dance which I found very inspirational (even if some of the class didn't, unfortunately) and some modern dances. There were hip-hop and freestyles too, which were good and upbeat. But I liked the oriental dances a little better, for the style and movements used to match perfectly with the music and it just....flowed beautifully.

Preview for Battlestar Galactica's third season, which aired during the premiere of SciFi's new series Eureka. The new season will start this October, which does seem rather long for waiting after seeing this awesome preview. Psyched, I definitely am.

♣ Koda Kumi's final PV, "Ningyo-Hime", has arisen. Kuu has made music videos for all her songs on her single-album, 4 hot wave, all of which have continuous storytelling. It's a very unique way of promotion, let alone having each released in one single week. I really like this song, as it has more rockish rhythm and the video is amazingly gorgeous, but with Koda Kumi that's a given really. It's a mixture of a lot of things, but it's still a great video. I might be thinking about doing an analysis on each one of these PVs, because hey. They are telling a story in an artful format. ♥

♣ In recognition of my newest favorite fandom, [livejournal.com profile] girlflesh has listed 50 reasons why everyone should watch the new Doctor Who. Seriously, it's a kickass list and if you aren't caught up with the hype surrounding the Doctor Who glee, this you should take into consideration. Read and love, my lovely people. I mean, there's time traveling for goodness sakes. What's not to love?

♣ Hee, Dick Casablancas on That's So Raven. I still get a kick out of that. *smiles with glee*

1. Did chores today, and finished them too! Yays! Top of the list was laundry, which I washed, sorted and put away. Secondly, I reorganized my bookshelves and DVD collection. Thirdly, I studied for my dance class final, which I took this evening. Fourthly, I watched The Daily Show (hey, that's a chore okays?) Fifth and final thing, I dealt with the trashcans and the dishes. All done for the day, now for tomorrow that's another story. Each day another chore must be done, that's just how life works.

2. Koda Kumi has two brand new PVs out already! "With Your Smile" and "I'll Be There" from her 4 hot wave album. Shiny! Very lovely PVs from Kuu, and she looks pretty in both.

3. Question!: Regarding YouTube, has anyone else been having trouble with it lately? Because there's something funky happening with me. While the picture seems to be working fine, I don't have any volume control, like at all. The volume panel is just gone, and all the sound I hear is hardly audible and I cannot control it by adjusting the computer volume. At first I thought the website was working on something, so I've been patiently waiting. However, after some days I see others are having no trouble viewing videos while I'm still in the rut of having no volume. Has anyone else been having trouble with this, or am I the only unfortunate person effected by this? *is all confused*

ETA: YouTube is finally working! Yes, victory. Huzzah.

1. I'm alive! Feel the vindication! Seriously, I spent most of this week stressing and feeling completely exhausted because I was preoccupied with something I couldn't get out of. Jury duty. I'll have more thorough details about that later, possibly by this weekend since there's a lot to describe about my first time in the justice system of our nation. But yay, I am back; back to normal daily schedules, inlcuding lots of sleep and not feeling entirely drained before dance class in the evening.

2. This passed weekend, I watched the That's So Raven episode with Ryan Hansen's second appearance as part of the trio boyband....singing and dancing in a fireman suit. Hee! I was really grinning and giggling at that part, and damn! can that boy dance. Seriously, I'll only watch that show with only him in it (I'm still getting over the "dude, DICK's on DISNEY OMG!" reaction). There's only a few occasional random episodes that I find funny, otherwise if it doesn't have Ryan appearing in it, it's all dead to me. Granted he's only been on that show twice, but still!

3. Koda Kumi's brand new PV for "JUICY"! So sultry, so damn sexy. I absolutely love Kumi. ♥

4. Dude, I totally didn't know that Grosse Pointe is coming to DVD. I loved this show when it aired, and was majorly disappointed when the WB didn't continue it after its first season. Yet another hilariously funny satire that the networks just didn't understand, unlike its audience. While there is no DVD release date finalized, I am going to order this as soon as possible. I admired the character of Hunter, she was the bestest bitch ever. I would actually like to see a combat between Hunter and Cordelia. That would be freaking awesome!

5. BUT, Carnivale Season 2 DVD will be released on the 18th! Finally, it's about time they released it. I went OMGYAYS when seeing this.

6. Tonight's Daily Show was superb, as usual, which made me giggle lots. Okay, it always makes me laugh, but tonight they actually did a segment where visibly showing dildos of all shapes and sizes (and Ed Helms using one as a lightsaber, no doubt) was beyond hysterical. Thank goodness that it's prime time television, until it reruns tomorrow morning and afternoon, that is.

It's a Wednesday Fandomosity postage! I hope all my good US friends had a lovely Fourth of July celebration yesterday, and for those who are non-Americans or didn't celebrate at all I still hope you all had a lovely day as well.

-♠- The Doctor's New Companion: As many fans should know, Billie Piper is retiring her role as Rose Tyler on the new series of BBC's Doctor Who; whether she'll reappear in future episodes or series is unknown. So who will join the Doctor in his fine adventures? According to recent reports, the actress Freema Agyeman will become The Doctor's new time-travel partner in crime, Martha Jones. Whilst working side-by-side on the series with the Tenth Doctor, this announcement has unsurprisingly sparked up a nasty bit of wankery in the DW fandom, leading to racial slurs and "Martha isn't a name for a black woman" kind of comments. Oh, it's just amusing and leads to many facepalms and dramatic sighs because in all honesty, it's because The Doctor is getting a new companion since Billie is departing from the show. I loved Rose too folks, but this is a little ridiculous, yeah?

-♠- Kaylee Frye Speaks Yet Again!: Jewel Staite updates her personal website in which she describes her finished film called "The Tribe" (note: not the television series The Tribe, but a brand new film of the same name), along with other fun stuff and her appearance at the Toronto Ti-Con this upcoming weekend on July 7-9!

-♠- The Weird Wyrd Sisters: Although losing the first court case against the WB, the Winnipeg folk group continues their battle with Warner Brothers for using their band name in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire film. Granted I've never heard of them until this legal issue came up, but I seem to think this goes just a tad overboard just for their rightful claim as musicians as it's quoted at the bottom of the link.

-♠- Juicy Kuu: Koda Kumi has a brand new commercial out featuring her brand new song, "JUICY"; it's also a promotion for the necklace made by GemCEREY called the "Binary Face Necklace" as seen in the CM and on their website, which is on sale now. Hopefully the official promotional video of the song will be available shortly. She's also featured in the Vodafone CM, featuring another new song, "Ningyo-Hime".
