I simultaneously feel bad for GRRM from the standpoint of trying to enjoy other successes which you may, to a degree, enjoy more, and also being harassed by one of the loudest if not nearly worst fanbases in existence to finish said novel... while also hating his work, so it's a mixed bag. I still feel Some Kind of Way about that interview that got memed a lot where he was asked how to write women well and he said "Treat them like people", and then I read his books and wondered where the "treat them like people" part started. But hey, it could be worse, I guess? He could be Patrick Rothfuss.
