These are a few of my favorite things.
Jul. 15th, 2024 04:11 amThere's been so many distressing and upsetting things happening lately, so here's a list of some of the things that have been a happy distraction to keep me from doomscrolling, especially within the last week.
** We've been taking care of the neighborhood community cats for over two years now, mostly putting out food and water and making sure they have enough shade and comfort the best we can in our backyard (and front yard, but mostly the back). We have some regulars and some we only see occasionally, but seeing them everyday has been a daily joy regardless.
** I mentioned previously about being so excited for the newest Dimension 20 campaign, Never Stop Blowing Up (watch the first episode on YT here), but really I've been just devouring D20 and just Dropout shows lately. I've been revisiting certain campaigns (A Court Of Fey And Flowers and The Seven) and getting into new seasons (Fantasy High: Junior Year, Make Some Noise, Game Changer) and new shows that dropped on their platform (Smartypants), it's been such a saving grace for me to have this kind of entertainment and the laughs, which is greatly needed. Hell, even though I'm subscribed to the service I still watch fan compilations that are recommended to me on YouTube, just because it always makes me smile reliving certain random moments.
** Dreamcatcher just released their 10th mini album titled Virtuous, and I've been obsessing over it, specifically with their songs "JUSTICE" and "2 Rings". They never miss. ❤
** After a period of not feeling motivated or being in the right headspace to do so, I'm finally watching some new movies. Some which I had been wanting to watch, and others I just discovered and was curious about. I'll most likely write reviews for them soon, because I have thoughts. (Note: they will be of the horror/scifi variety, since those are my favorite genres.)
** Meet You At The Blossom has finally premiered and while I'm waiting for a good chunk of episodes to be released to watch, just seeing the gifsets from it has me absolutely giddy.
** It actually got cooler recently, which I'm relieved by, because we experienced a prolonged heat wave that was absolutely unbearable. It is still hot outside, but it's no longer going to be in the triple digit range and stepping outside doesn't feel like an overpowered sauna.
** And, of course, fandom. That is always a good distraction.

Date: 2024-07-16 03:30 pm (UTC)I'm thinking of getting a Dropout subscription, everything I see from them is fun.
Yay for Summer heat easing up a bit for you!
