Seriously, Jon Stewart returning to The Daily Show after nine years and it truly feels like no time has gone by. His comedic timing, the way he phrases things and emphasizes his points, it's a combination of nostalgia along with being a breath of fresh air. Of course he has spoken his mind since then on multiple occasions, making appearances here and there on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and other places, but it also proves how he has never lost that passion, that spark, and how he truly shines when he has such a platform as this to speak out on these issues. As someone who doesn't post much about politics and actively tries to avoid doomscrolling while still remaining informed of the goings on in the world, as depressing and infuriating as it can be, Jon Stewart is among the few who manage to talk about these things without making me feel numb inside. He may only be the Monday host for The Daily Show throughout this election year, but it's still a welcome return nonetheless and I am very, very happy to have him back. :)

I was going to watch a little bit of the video, but I ended up watching it all. I can't believe it's been 9 years!

It feels like only yesterday that I was watching his final farewell episode on TDS. I mean, obviously time has lost all meaning since 2020 but still, nine years. Regardless though, even if this is just temporary I'm glad he's back. :D

I didn't realize he was only back for Mondays...but I'll take what I can get, I feel the same way about him as you do.

Yeah. And I get it, really. This isn't meant to be something permanent and it can be quite taxing even if it's temporary, but it makes me even more excited to look forward to Mondays and seeing his episodes so I can't complain. :)

I watched and it was pretty great. I wasn't 'around' for his original run, just not having an interest in the show at the time, so I don't have the "he's back!" reaction, but what I've seen of him elsewhere (on other late shows or old Daily Show clips) has made me a fan.

A lot of clips had been circulating around online even after he left and people ended up really enjoying those along with his appearances in other things since, so you're definitely not alone in that camp. I think it's great, though, that even after his departure as permanent host Jon can still reach people with his comedy and snark regarding politics.

It's so nice to have him back. I like that he's able to speak more objectively on the issues rather than supporting one because it's perhaps the side he's more politically aligned with.
