++ I hope everyone who celebrates this time of year had a good holiday. Mine was pretty lowkey.

Although I do get that emotional hangover afterwards, and it's more than just needing to replenish my energy levels after spending some time with other people. I've noticed this after a few years now that there is that crash after the celebration, and it's that weird feeling similar to how in between Christmas and New Years it's like that liminal space, but like on an emotional scale. I don't know.

++ The Gävle Goat wasn't something I paid that close attention to before. I just knew that a straw goat was burned (or not burned) every year, and I knew that people were hoping that the goat would be burned this year since last year it wasn't. But now since birds are kind of taking over the goat, it's question whether the destruction of the goat will be by fire or by bird. I'm honestly hoping for the latter, since the constant updates on the slow decay of the goat is entertaining to me. It's the little things, y'know?

++ Unfortunately the BL Thai adaptation of Cherry Magic has been told to suspend international broadcast of the drama outside of Thailand until further notice. It appears to be copyright permission issues. Of course there are already workarounds, as there always is whenever things that this happen for one reason or another, but it still sucks.

++ On the brightside, Thailand is getting closer to legalizing same-sex marriage!

++ In other good news, Kesha has officially parted ways with her abuser's record label and company. She is finally free! I'm honestly relieved, but still very angry on her behalf that she had to continually endure all of this from the start. I know she had the support from her loyal fans and some fellow artists/celebrities, but I feel like this should have been a bigger deal when the news broke out about how she was being treated. With all that being said, at least she's been distancing herself from the asshole for a while despite still having to be attached to his label, with her comeback in years with her rendition of "Colors" and her Rainbow album, and her most recently released album this year, Gag Order. Now that she's free, I can't wait to see what comes next for her.

I'm very excited for Thailand. Several BL dramas have pushed for same-sex marriage legalisation, and whether that helped a little or not, it's lovely to see it happening for real.

I remember when one of the actors from Kinnporsche mentioned something about how despite how there were a lot of Thai BL dramas, same-sex marriage wasn't legal in Thailand and that they hope that someday it might change. And it looks like this very well is heading into the possibility it will!

Yeah, it's such a strange time. I don't think I paid that close attention to it before, certainly not as a kid growing up. It's only been in recent years that I've truly begun noticing the difference in how I feel during the days between Christmas and New Years, and especially the way I feel directly after Christmas celebrations end.

It's definitely good news. I'm happy for her. :)

I've been following the Gävle Goat as well and I think no-one will try to burn it now that it's being destroyed by the birds. People are wondering what kind of omen this is, but I guess destroyed is destroyed. XD
I bought my very own little yulegoat that's now standing on the shelf over my TV. It won't be burned, it's my Christmas decoration. XD

I also think that some people might be worried for the birds if they tried to burn it now. And it's true, no matter what method it is getting slowly devoured by the birds and it's fascinating to watch. Yes, setting it ablaze is what people wanted, but what we got I think is even better, imho.

Now that it's just my parents and me, it's not as emotionally exhausting anymore. I know what you mean though.
In Germany we call the time between Christmas and NYE "zwischen den Jahren" = "between the years" because it's such a weird time period despite the fact that it happens every year. It's kinda like it doesn't really exist.

I know what you mean about that crash. I think I feel it the most in January, whereas right now I'm more in my introvert hangover phase, although I've also been doing a lot.

Yeah, it's just a very weird feeling because I love this time of year, but it seems that the holidays come and go so quickly that I hardly get time to truly properly enjoy it as I used to. Plus, there's been a lot going on this year for me personally that I think it all kind of catches up to me.

And yeah, I know that it is difficult to get out of contracts in the industry, and harder when there's cases like hers, but she honestly should have gotten more support than she did.

Yeah, after all the bullshit she had to endure before, during and then after the trial (which seeing the photos of her breaking down crying in court still breaks my heart) and then having to still be tied to her abuser years later is fundamentally unfair. I know that getting out of contracts is difficult, but still. At least she's free now, and that's all that matters. I've been enjoying what she's been putting out despite everything and I'm excited to see what this new path of freedom is going to give us.

I'm so happy for Kesha. So many shitty men getting to abuse women blatantly and face almost no consequences for it. I'm so glad she's been able to get away and speak out and it really seems like she's doing well these days.

Yeah, and while I'm sure Dr. Luke isn't going to face any consequences for what he's done and probably continues to do, unfortunately, at least she's getting away from him and that's all that matters. Seeing her thrive in these recent years makes me so happy, and I cannot wait to see what her next era is going to be like now that she's truly a free woman.

I'm glad she's gotten away and glad she's been so vocal about it as that will help save others. You're right that he's not facing consequences and I think there will always be other victims until he's actually arrested for what he's doing (so maybe never). I'll take the win as it is and just will hope that maybe he steps on lego, trips, and impales himself on something sharp and rusty all at once.
