Witness me!
Dec. 2nd, 2023 01:27 pm++ It's already December. Time, it be weird.
++ The teaser trailer for Furiosa, the prequel movie to Mad Max: Fury Road, was recently released. Honestly, just like when they had announced this being made I'm not quite sure how to feel about it. I've seen varying opinions about it already, some I agree with and some I don't, but I want to reserve my judgment until we see the final product. Upon first impressions though I am a bit cautiously optimistic, so we'll see. With that being said, it certainly got me inspired to do a rewatch of Fury Road again, because it's been a hot minute and that film was absolutely phenomenal on multiple different levels.

Give me a topic, and I will answer with my top fives. Any subject, any at all.
Anything from fannish to general real life stuff. If there is anything that I cannot answer in its entirety I'll let you know, but otherwise go for it. :)

Date: 2023-12-04 06:35 pm (UTC)I'm also hovering between excitement and wariness re the Furiosa trailer. There are some really cool shots in it and it's got the aesthetic; also Chris Hemsworth seems to be having a blast. It's still looking very CGI-y (the images are far too "clean") but then again they still have 6 months and it's one of the main criticisms I've heard of it, so I'm sure the people responsible will have heard it too. XD The first trailer for MMFR also looked much cleaner and even included unfinished shots, sooo...
Generally, I have faith in Miller so I'm with you on being cautiously optimistic. *fingers crossed*

Date: 2023-12-05 09:05 am (UTC)I don't know, like I said I'm reserving any judgment until we see the final result, but I'm leaning more to being on the positive side. Despite whatever obstacles, I do want this to be made well.
And now, onto my answers!
Top Five Villain Songs
01. "Legal Assassin" / "Let The Monster Rise", from Repo! The Genetic Opera
02. "In The Dark Of The Night", from Anastasia
03. "Hellfire", from The Hunchback of Notre Dame
04. "L'assasymphonie", from Mozart, L'Opera Rock (although this probably doesn't count as a villain song, Salieri is Mozart's rival and this song kind kind of really displays that jealousy)
05. "Toxic Love", from Ferngully: The Last Rainforest (truly, Tim Curry didn't have to go that hard at making a some about pollution be sultry and sexy, and yet here we are)

Date: 2024-01-12 06:53 pm (UTC)Though I have to check out Repo! again because it’s been so long that I don’t remember the song titles anymore. XD
But yeah, “Hellfire” is amazing, “In the dark of the night” is also really awesome. Funnily enough, I immediately think of this song when that line shows up in a fic or something. XD His German voice actor is also one of my favourites of all time – Joachim Kemmer, who was the voice of so many iconic characters in my childhood (Jafar, Sebastian the crab, Lumiere, Rafiki plus many many more).
Ferngully was a bit of a weird movie and that villain song sure was something else. XD

Date: 2024-01-14 11:03 pm (UTC)Ferngully was among my childhood favorites. It's been so long since I've watched it though.

Date: 2024-01-15 06:59 pm (UTC)Ferngully doesn't hold up super well but it's still fine. I've got far less tolerance for the bat nowadays, but I still like the main character, most of the songs (I was obsessed with that love song where they're in that cave, sooo pretty!) and the animation is also really okay.
