++ It's been announced that the last book of James S.A. Corey's The Expanse series is going to be called Leviathan Falls. A perfect bookend title, truly. This is the ninth and last book of the entire series, which will be released sometime in 2021. I know fans are excited for this, and it makes me hope that the show continues on long enough to adapt the entirety of the series.

++ Tatiana Maslany has been cast to be She-Hulk for Disney+. Honestly? Fantastic casting. I love Tatiana, she's incredibly talented (obviously, if you've seen her in Orphan Black you know). I'm just happy she's getting more recognition in general.

++ The trailer dropped for Hogwarts: Legacy, the first open world RPG video game for the Harry Potter franchise that will be released in 2021.

I know that it's been claimed that JKR isn't involved with the game, but the reality is that she still profits off of anything Wizarding World related, whether she was involved in the production of something or not. It's a delicate time right now concerning Joke Karen and her public bigoted antics, with many fans questioning whether or not they should even engage or buy anything HP-related anymore as to not support her, that debate has been going on for a long while now, even more so in recent months. It's a complicated situation where neither I, nor anyone else, can tell people what to do in that regard. With that being said, an RPG game centered around Harry Potter is something many fans have been wanting for years, and it's kind of amazing that we're finally getting it now. Hell, I remember thinking that Pottermore was going to be that and was sourly disappointed when it wasn't. Because let's be honest, the Wizarding World in itself is massive and the possibilities are endless with exploring that world and everything else in between.

So yeah, the trailer certainly looks good and interesting, though I'll have to wait to see footage of actual gameplay since cinematic trailers for video games are often quite different and may not actually reflect the final product itself. So we shall see if it lives up to the hype.

Have you read The Expanse books? I like the show quite a bit and if good I'd probably like to give it a chance, hmm.

Tatiana Maslany was so good in Orphan Black! I don't know if I'll be watching this (I also won't be renewing my subscription so nope if it comes out after that), but I hope she gets that recognition too.

God, the JK / Legacy shitshow on twitter was honestly a mess. Half the people telling the other half how horrible a human they are if they're gonna buy it, the other half telling the first half to go fff themselves. Crazy. It's a complicated thing. I won't have a PS5 so I don't have to make this decision, but damn, as you say people have been waiting for this game their entire lives, and Harry Potter has been such an important thing in so many people's lives, lifesaving often. I saw somebody saying it was "time to let go" of Harry Potter, and even I found myself thinking 'nope, can't'. What a mess.

I haven't started reading them yet (I'm in the middle of the Dune book series, and I plan on starting them after I finish those), but I just know that, from fans who have read them, the books are supposedly very amazing and that the show stays relatively close to them.

There's been a lot of complicated feelings and opinions on this matter. And I, personally, hate it whenever I see someone say, "it's time to let HP go" or more aggressively "go read another book/find another franchise", because I feel like those are the kind of people who love acting morally superior in not only taking pride in disliking HP in general but also in telling people what they should or shouldn't like. Yes, everything that's been revealed about JKR (ironically, by her own volition) is horrible and downright despicable, and it's creating a lot of mixed emotions and reactions from everyone, especially those who hold the HP series close to their hearts. Telling people to "get over" something isn't helping.

At the end of the day, this is a very complicated issue and it's not as easy as, "just dismiss this series you love so much and give her nothing" nor is it "just ignore her and enjoy what you like" either. It's a very, very gray area that we're still trying to figure out how to go about it and how to properly combat this issue. At this point, it's all personal discretion.

(Plus, Twitter is not the greatest place for constructive discussions on this matter, it's just Reactionary Land to an extreme and it's just so messy over there in general.)

I feel bad for the game developers and everyone else who worked on the game, because yeah, JKR is an awful person and they're caught in the middle of all this mess and it's unfair to them.

The man who painted our house is a fan of the show (and so is his wife, whom he says isn't usually into scifi) but thought the books got duller as it went on, though.
