++ The reveal that Keanu Reeves is going to be in Cyberpunk 2077, never mind his appearance presenting the game at the conference after that reveal happened, was probably the best moment in E3 history. I think that moment overshadowed everything else at the event, tbh. Everyone is practically in love with Keanu. I was already intrigued by Cyberpunk 2077, but now I'm really excited for it. But the most important question is: will Keanu's character be romanceable?

++ Kesha released a brand new song called, "Rich, White, Straight, Men" which is a gigantic middle finger to the patriarchy. I approve. Also, this is a completely different sound from what we're used to hearing from her. It has a sort of dark cabaret vibe, similar to that of The Dresden Dolls (specifically "Coin-Operated Boy") and Emilie Autumn. It may be an acquired taste for some people considering it is more of an experimental kind of track, but I personally really dig it.

++ Ever since the news broke out that Swamp Thing has been cancelled after only one episode, which completely blindsided and baffled everyone and there's been varying reports as to the reasons why, many have been questioning the future of DC shows, especially since one of the reasons given is that the people at WarnerMedia seem to want all DC shows to be similar to the CW formula. Understandably, many are pissed. You cannot place these shows underneath the same kind of formula, superhero stories are not homogeneous. They can, and should, have variety to reach a whole bunch of different audiences and not just the same thing over and over again. Some can be family-friendly, while others can be more mature and dark in content. Not everything has to be absolutely the same, otherwise it gets boring real fast, and this is part of a larger problem overall with higher ups looking at things at being marketable versus having a good story the curse of the entertainment industry, tbh. And this is making people nervous about what will become of shows like Doom Patrol (something I've recently been wanting to watch) which has gotten much praise and positive reception but might also be affected by all this fuckery that's been happening.

I think it was already a good sign that they never tied themselves to a release date until just now. SO many games pick a date before they are even close to done and then disasters happen and they never recover. I feel like CD Projekt Red knows what they are doing at this point, thank goodness!

I remember when the game was first announced, and that was six years ago. It was even mentioned in the teaser trailer that it was "coming: when it's ready", which I didn't realize was a crucial thing. Because you're right, a lot of video games do have deadlines that unfortunately push a lot of the people working on it far too hard, working many hours to get it ready and sometimes it's not even remotely close to being finished. Let us hope that they are, indeed, very much ready for official release next year.
