There are so many. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Legend of the Seeker, Dark Angel, Dark Matter, Sense8, The Expanse, the list goes on and on. Seriously, there are just so many shows that I love that I can watch over and over and never get tired of them. I'm just someone who loves rewatching things that I found enjoyable, probably to the annoying degree of memorizing all the lines. I think unless a show significantly bothers me for some reason or I just felt indifferent towards (which has happened, there are shows that I've watched in full but have never had the urge to revisit since), most of them tend to have that rewatch quality. I would say pretty much the majority of my fandom list qualifies as such, to be honest.
What are your top 5 shows right now?
The Expanse, Agents of SHIELD, Cloak & Dagger, Runaways, and Critical Role. Though the latter has taken a backseat lately, due to me being way behind on episodes and kind of focusing on other things at the moment.
Who are your top 5 TV characters right now?
Daisy Johnson (Agents of SHIELD), Nico Minoru (Marvel's Runaways), Villanelle (Killing Eve), Bobbie Draper and Camina Drummer (The Expanse). Also, as a bonus, despite having no interest with Game of Thrones in years I have to mention Daenerys Targaryen, not only because the series has ended but also to show support for her.
Which TV show setting would you most like to visit?
I already mentioned The Expanse and Critical Role in a previous question in regards to a show I would love to guest star on, which is still very true. But aside from those, if I'm thinking about past shows I would have loved to have visited the Battlestar Galactica set. It would just be surreal, walking around the CIC, the hanger deck, getting to probably sit in one of the Vipers, etc. Even to go to the outside locations they filmed in Canada, for example, would be interesting to visit. I also would have loved to walk around the sets built for Serenity in Firefly. Hearing the stories about how the cast felt at home there, particularly the kitchen area, and how it appeared on the show, made it feel very warm and lived in and it makes you want to just physically be there with them.
But honestly, I'm that kind of a nerd who would love to visit any of the sets of my favorite shows because it would be such an experience.
Do you prefer 22 episode seasons, or 13?
These days I think shows could seriously benefit by having shorter seasons. I truly don't think every single show needs to have 22-24 episode seasons, because most of the time it's just unnecessary. Sometimes shows can tell a self-contained seasonal arc without having to stretch it out over that many episodes, without having pointless subplots and fillers that make little sense. I think ten or thirteen episodes is probably better for most shows out there. I also think it's deceptive since it's been ingrained in our minds that a show that gets their "back nine" from the network that it's going to be successful, because that's not really true. It's why people worry when a show gets shortened by a few episodes since that's viewed as an indicator that it might be cancelled. It's such a misleading and even manipulative tactic, for both those working on the show and the audience.
Is there a show coming out soon that you’re really excited about?
I think the only thing of late that I've been excited about is The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance which will be coming out this August, but otherwise I don't really know much of anything else. I don't really pay that close attention to upcoming new shows, as most of the time whenever I get into something new it usually already has aired some episodes or a full season.
If you could change one detail about any show, what would you change and why?
Not have certain shows filmed so dark where it makes it harder to see what is happening. This has been occurring a lot with some shows lately, and I honestly don't understand why, so adjusting that would be lovely. Lighting does make a world of difference, and there are different ways of making it work without ruining the tone or mood of the scene or atmosphere of the show itself.
What’s the longest amount of time you’ve ever watched a show in one sitting?
I can't really say for sure because I find myself binge-watching a lot more these days, so it's really hard to keep track on which shows I spend more time catching up on. I try to at least space of the episodes though so I'm literally not wasting hours trying to finish it all in one go, which is why it can take a few days. I think The Haunting of Hill House and Marvel's Cloak & Dagger were the two shows in recent memory where I ended up going from one episode to the other, simply because I was so engaged with the story that I wanted to see what happened next. It also worked because their seasons were rather short, ten episodes, which I think ten or less is a good amount of episodes to have a longer binge-watching experience.
Also, Matt Mercer just did a special one-shot D&D game with Stephen Colbert for Red Nose Day! It is pretty much nearly an hour of pure wholesomeness, with this being Stephen's first time venturing back into the world of D&D in decades. It's so amazing watching the two of them geek out, along with what people are considering the Mercer Effect with seeing how immersed Stephen was with his storytelling. Someone even pointed out that Matt used old school D&D terminology to kind of bring him back into the swing of things. It's just so awesome, and it's for a good cause too. Plus, I know that Matt and the rest of the CR cast have been wanting to get Colbert to be on their show somehow for a long while now, so their wish definitely came true.
I definitely think that, as they've grown much bigger in terms of starting their own company and the growing fan community surrounding their game, not to mention the immense success of their kickstarter campaign, it gives them these kinds of amazing opportunities.

Date: 2019-05-26 10:31 am (UTC)I meant more that maybe some shows need 10, others might need 11. I think most people definitely still think either 13 or 13+9. Lucifer might have benefitted from having one or two episodes more, not necessarily the full 22.
One of the few things I know about GoT is people saying that it looks like it's literally lit by a candle lol
