++ Vox Machina: An Exandrian Musical is a fan-created musical combining Hamilton and Critical Role. The cast of Critical Role have been fans of the Hamilton musical for some time now, and some fans decided to kind of use this inspiration to tell the story of the first campaign with their own version of the musical, to which cast have responded very positively to it. It truly is very, very well done. Granted, it won't necessarily make sense unless you have watched the first campaign, and it does contain spoilers. However, I highly recommend listening to at least the first track.

++ Speaking of Hamilton, we have "The Hamilton Polka" which is "Weird Al" Yankovic's remixed contribution. You know you've made it when Weird Al does a parody of your work.

++ And now we have premieres of upcoming shows: the second season of Jessica Jones premieres on March 8th on Netflix, Brooklyn Nine-Nine resumes their season on March 18th, the new Freeform series Siren premieres March 29th, the second season of Legion premieres on April 3th, The Expanse premieres its third season on April 11th, Elementary will return on April 30th, the series premiere of Cloak & Dagger is on June 7th. I know some were worried about Brooklyn Nine-Nine but it will return, with a possible amazing casting announcement that I'm happy about. I'm very excited about Jessica Jones and The Expanse, I still have to see the first season of Legion but just watching the trailers for the second season has intrigued me very much. Granted I'm mostly really liking them because of Aubrey Plaza, but y'know. And I'm quite curious about the new shows, Siren and Cloak & Dagger. Of course, these are the shows upcoming in the next few months. I'm still looking forward to some of my other shows later in the year, like Wynonna Earp and the Sense8 finale special which I'm really looking forward to.

There are, of course, some other shows that I want to check out but haven't yet, such as Altered Carbon and Marvel's Runaways. This is mostly due to my procrastination and also still being behind on some of my shows. I'm slowly rectifying this, though.

I so need to catch up on B99!!

I've kind of gone backwards, in that I've watched the more recent episodes so far this season before their hiatus but I haven't watched the season from the beginning. Thankfully, B99 is one of those shows that you can binge-watch easily so I'll be doing that before the season continues.

I am so excited for the second season of Jessica Jones! Seems like it’s been ages since it was last on TV.

B99 came back in April last year, so I don't think there was anything to worry about. However, I note that it's on a different day of the week from what it used to be, which is probably not that good in terms of ratings since casual audiences might miss the news.

Definitely a lot of shows to get caught up on, and for me still a few I'm hoping to see renewed.

I'm so amazed by all these shows starting in March. I remember when basically everything on TV took a hiatus in the summer and premiered in the fall. It's really nice to have stuff to watch all year this way.

I know what you mean. I'm still scratching my head as to why we've waited so long for the second season of her show. Jessica Jones premiered in 2015. Even with her being in The Defenders, it still feels far too long. I just hope that we don't have to wait longer for a third season.

I've just seen some concerns about the future of the show in general since it doesn't get as much promotion as other shows, similar to Elementary since that show took too long before there was a definitive return date, so it's still nice to get confirmation nonetheless. Although I will say, having B99 being kind of unintentionally promoted in the Olympics along with Mark Hamill singing praise to the show, I hope this means more people are going to start watching the show.

I'm crossing my fingers for the renewal of some of my shows, as well.

Some of these shows are returning from winter hiatus to finish their seasons, while others are doing their series premieres in the upcoming months. And, of course, Netflix doesn't really count considering how their premieres is just dropping the entire season on a single day so audiences can binge watch. In truth, fall season didn't have much in terms of new shows that interested me, and most of my returning shows either were mid-season or in the summer. Regardless, I like how things have shifted, at least for me, where most of my shows are in the summer as opposed to fall.

Seriously! Just listening to that made me want to go back and listen to some of my favorite Weird Al songs again. "White & Nerdy" and "The Saga Begins" are just some of my tops favs of his work.

having B99 being kind of unintentionally promoted in the Olympics

Nice! :-) I hadn't heard of that. What happened?

Red Gerard, a teen snowboarder in the Olympics, said he almost overslept after binge-watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine episodes on Netflix the night before competing. He still won gold, though. It was just an unexpected yet awesome little mention. :)

Ha ha! I'm surprised I didn't see that on Tumblr, because there was a post listing fun stuff about athletes also being teens (like the young woman who kept her goggles on because she hadn't brought make-up).

I'm surprised you didn't see it, either, because that's how I knew about it since there were several posts regarding it, and people commenting that this unintentional shoutout was probably the best and only advertising B99 has ever gotten (which is very true, sadly enough).

I didn't really follow the Olympics that closely as others, I just knew after the fact since everyone has been talking about the teens in the event and how naturally unfiltered they were. My favorites were the fact that Mirai Nagasu nonchalantly talked about being on her period while performing, and Chloe Kim tweeting about ice cream while competing (and confusing people on why she was tweeting while in the middle of competing in the Olympics). Bless. :)

Now that I think about it again, I might have seen something about the binge-watching (or I'm just creating false memories, ha ha), but I don't think B99 was named in the summary I saw.

Siren. Do you know what is it about? Alone the title sounds intriguing. :>
Oh, Altered Carbon. I heard a lot of good things about this show. I think, I will check it out in the future as well. :)

Here is the trailer (https://youtu.be/82NusegO1mQ) for Siren. It is going to be a fantasy drama about mermaids, and it seems to be focusing on the creeper side of the mythological creatures, and from the description there will be a war between real mermaids and humans. While I know that this probably won't be the thriller that I kind of hoped it would be, it still does look interesting enough to check out nonetheless.

I've seen gifsets of Altered Carbon and the aesthetic is what I'm living for, tbh. Well, that and Dichen Lachman who was my main draw to this series.

I'm always intrigued whenever I see something new in scifi, and Altered Carbon definitely has the aesthetic that I'm attracted to. I've heard that the show has some interesting world-building.

I just realized w/ your Jessica Jones mention I still havent finished the Defenders or started Punisher (though I'll watch Jessica Jones before punisher). Perils of the marvel stuff not being available for netflix download.

What network has cloak & Dagger?

I'm o ready for the The Expanse.

I can't speak about The Punisher, but you really aren't missing anything with The Defenders. I wasn't that impressed with the season and Jessica, while great to see her in it along with Luke and Matt all meeting each other, nothing significant happened.

Cloak & Dagger will be on Freeform, I believe.

The Expanse is such a good show, amazing scifi. I wish more people knew about it.

Hm, maybe I should check out the first episodes of Siren and if I like it or not. Because I like mermaids and the more creepy, mythological parts. <3

(Usually I don't catch anything that quickly...but I love Weird Al and Hamilton...haha)

I didn't realize Jessica Jones was so soon! Awesome!! :D
Trav will be happy to hear about The Expanse.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it. Also, I loved Lin's reaction to hearing the final product of Weird Al's parody remix of Hamilton, he looked super giddy and overjoyed! :D

Jessica Jones is nearly here! I'm so excited!

That's what I'm planning on doing, as well. Part of me knows that it most likely will turn into a melodramatic teen show because, well, it's Freeform after all, but at the same time I am curious about the setup of the mermaids and the darker mythology attached to them. I really like the creepier aspects of mythological beings so I want to see their take on it and whether it'll be my thing or not.
