So much TV, so little time.
Jun. 5th, 2017 08:04 pm++ Castlevania is a new series coming to Netflix on July 7th, based off of the video game series of the same name. Not only does this series have Richard Armitage voicing one of the characters (as heard briefly in the teaser), but fellow Hobbit co-star Graham McTavish, Timothy Omundson (Psych and Galavant), and James Callis (Gaius Baltar from Battlestar Galactica) will also be voices in this, as well. I was unaware of this until recently, and was caught entirely by surprise. I'm not familiar with the games or the story, but I'm curious nonetheless.
++ My summer shows are coming back! Tonight Stitchers is returning for its third season premiere. I just saw the promos for it and honestly, I just can't wait to see what this season unfolds. I'm hoping there are some answers in store and that the season doesn't end on a cliffhanger. Wynonna Earp and Dark Matter return this Friday, and Orphan Black's final season is set to premiere on Saturday. I'm just so happy and excited that my shows are back. I haven't really been doing episode reviews so much these days, not like I used to anyway, and that's because I tend to binge-watch more than do one episode at a time especially when I'm catching up on shows I'm currently watching (because I have so many, lol). I'll probably do reaction reviews if I'm so inclined, or if there is something I want to discuss regarding what may be currently happening on a particular show. But I think since my viewing of shows have changed over the years it's easier for me to do season overviews than simply a single episode review, or if the season isn't done then through a number of episodes rather than one at a time.

Date: 2017-06-06 07:39 pm (UTC)Finally there was Sci-Fi in space again. For some reason it seemed like it had been a while.
Same. I felt that very same thing when I got myself hooked on Dark Matter, because not only did it features tropes that I absolutely loved, but it also reminded me a lot of Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. It's the same feeling when I recently started The Expanse, too. Good scifi can be hard to come by these days, but when a show does come along that has all those right elements together, it is definitely a good feeling.

Date: 2017-06-06 05:19 pm (UTC)Yeah, the sheer amount of TV these days just makes it a lot easier to binge one show at a time, as opposed to trying to keep up with all of them as they roll out. Which I suppose is good and bad, but more good media isn't ever a bad thing.

Date: 2017-06-08 04:05 am (UTC)I'm really behind on Stitchers & kinda behind on Dark Matter, be I'm psyched about Wynonna Earp coming back. I have this wild idea about catching up on my fall tv during the summer, but between falling asleep, computer fuck ups, and needing to have my future house clean enough for an appraisal by Aug, that may be interesting.

Date: 2017-06-08 07:14 am (UTC)I have this tendency to procrastinate and hold back watching some of my shows, which is why I have quite a few to catch up on myself. This is usually because I need to be in the right ~mood and headspace to basically binge the rest of the episodes. I know it sounds weird, but I can't just go from one to another. Which is how I end up kind of behind on some of my shows. Not that I mind, I'm not particularly worried about spoilers anymore and I prefer catching up on mind own time. But the longer I procrastinate the more I have play catch up. Heh.
