++ Castlevania is a new series coming to Netflix on July 7th, based off of the video game series of the same name. Not only does this series have Richard Armitage voicing one of the characters (as heard briefly in the teaser), but fellow Hobbit co-star Graham McTavish, Timothy Omundson (Psych and Galavant), and James Callis (Gaius Baltar from Battlestar Galactica) will also be voices in this, as well. I was unaware of this until recently, and was caught entirely by surprise. I'm not familiar with the games or the story, but I'm curious nonetheless.

++ My summer shows are coming back! Tonight Stitchers is returning for its third season premiere. I just saw the promos for it and honestly, I just can't wait to see what this season unfolds. I'm hoping there are some answers in store and that the season doesn't end on a cliffhanger. Wynonna Earp and Dark Matter return this Friday, and Orphan Black's final season is set to premiere on Saturday. I'm just so happy and excited that my shows are back. I haven't really been doing episode reviews so much these days, not like I used to anyway, and that's because I tend to binge-watch more than do one episode at a time especially when I'm catching up on shows I'm currently watching (because I have so many, lol). I'll probably do reaction reviews if I'm so inclined, or if there is something I want to discuss regarding what may be currently happening on a particular show. But I think since my viewing of shows have changed over the years it's easier for me to do season overviews than simply a single episode review, or if the season isn't done then through a number of episodes rather than one at a time.

I'm so happy! But also I'm like, wow, that is a lot of returning shows all at once. And I still have to play catch-up with some of my other shows, as well. This'll be interesting, lol.

Me too. I never really had a 'summer' tv schedule. But I kind of do nowadays. It is. Eek. Still catching up on other shows? :/ Hopefully, you can still catch up.

I know that I'm a bit anxious and bummed that Orphan Black is ending after this season, but I'm happy that it's ending on their own terms and that they are completing the story the way it should be. So I cannot wait for the wild ride the final season is going to be, and how the story is to be wrapped up. :)

Looking forward to Dark Matter... maybe even Killjoys though I'm still so sad about Pawter. Also Orphan Black.

Timothy Omundson – I mainly remember him from six seasons on Judging Amy. Loved his scenes with Tyne Daly.

Killjoys is one of those shows that's still on my queue of things I need to get around to watching one day. I have heard good things about it.

I recommend it. I enjoy(ed) it very much these past seasons. I usually watched it together with "Dark Matter" – I was so happy when those two shows came up: Finally there was Sci-Fi in space again. For some reason it seemed like it had been a while.

I'll certainly get on it when I find the right time, among the rest of the shows I'm watching that is. :)

Finally there was Sci-Fi in space again. For some reason it seemed like it had been a while.

Same. I felt that very same thing when I got myself hooked on Dark Matter, because not only did it features tropes that I absolutely loved, but it also reminded me a lot of Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. It's the same feeling when I recently started The Expanse, too. Good scifi can be hard to come by these days, but when a show does come along that has all those right elements together, it is definitely a good feeling.

It felt a bit like afer BSG ended all that SyFy produced or all the science fiction shows that were out there were set on Earth somehow, and apart from "Defiance", the aliens were usually viruses or something. Then suddenly FINALLY they came up with "Dark Matter", "Killjoys" and I guess a bit later "The Expanse" again. I was so happy. I missed for things to take place in space, on space ships, etc. etc.

Huh. Castlevania isn't the first thing I'd think of for them to make into a show. I wonder which game they're going to pick to start from?

Yeah, the sheer amount of TV these days just makes it a lot easier to binge one show at a time, as opposed to trying to keep up with all of them as they roll out. Which I suppose is good and bad, but more good media isn't ever a bad thing.

It's interesting how television viewing has changed over the years. It feels like it wasn't too long ago that I would either be waiting anxiously for a certain time to watch an episode or be setting up a videotape to record one of my shows like, a few times a week or something. Now, I don't think I really watch television live anymore because there is just so much on, sometimes at the same time, and with the concept of binge-watching I get rather impatient to watch one episode and have to wait and entire week for the next one.

I don't mind binge-watching or catching up on shows, of course, but it's a matter of how time consuming it can be with keeping up with them.

My brothers have played the game, and all three of us are excited about the series coming out next month. We all got together just to watch the trailer and were starry eyed lol.

I haven't played the game and know very little about it, aside from the basic premise that I read, but I'm certainly a bit curious. I'll be honestly I'm mainly interested because of Richard Armitage apparently voicing in the series, something that I'm pleasantly surprised he is a part of.

The games always looked really good, but I've yet to play them XD I didn't even realize that Richard Armitage is voicing someone in the series! That's always a plus :D

I'm very, very happy too. I mean, no matter whether it's summer shows or fall shows, anytime my shows return from hiatus I'm super overjoyed. Especially ones that I consider to be my happy place. :)

Is Castlevania the vampire game?

I'm really behind on Stitchers & kinda behind on Dark Matter, be I'm psyched about Wynonna Earp coming back. I have this wild idea about catching up on my fall tv during the summer, but between falling asleep, computer fuck ups, and needing to have my future house clean enough for an appraisal by Aug, that may be interesting.

I believe so, yes.

I have this tendency to procrastinate and hold back watching some of my shows, which is why I have quite a few to catch up on myself. This is usually because I need to be in the right ~mood and headspace to basically binge the rest of the episodes. I know it sounds weird, but I can't just go from one to another. Which is how I end up kind of behind on some of my shows. Not that I mind, I'm not particularly worried about spoilers anymore and I prefer catching up on mind own time. But the longer I procrastinate the more I have play catch up. Heh.
