Date: 2017-04-25 06:29 am (UTC)I know what you mean, I've noticed this too over the years. It seemed that after the show ended the fandom gradually drizzled and faded away, maybe not entirely but it definitely got quieter than how it once was. Even on Tumblr it seems to be a much smaller fandom compared to the other fandoms that circulate on there. It's bizarre because BSG was one of the most praised scifi shows, hell many of the actors have appeared on The 100 (which has been compared to BSG, funnily enough). You'd think that there would've been a resurgence of the show based on that alone.
I know the fandom still exists, it's just they've moved onto other things and perhaps if there is a reunion of sorts celebrating how revolutionary the show was when it premiered and how influential it continues to be for scifi today, perhaps it might cause for the appropriate resurgence it deserves? IDK. I just desperately want it to be.
(Also, the only merchandise that I've seen BSG related as of late are the Pop Figures, but those are only three characters -- Head!Six, Kara and a Cylon Centurion -- and none of the others, which I feel is desperately needed.)
