While we don't know for sure what the robotic maggots do or for what purpose, the theories surrounding them is definitely not of the good kind. Tracking devices, part of a technological and biological evolutionary invention, monitoring brain waves to access thoughts, who knows. But the Neolutionists clearly have a plan with these buggers, and anyone who gets chosen to be a test subject is deemed "special", or so it's claimed. It's definitely tied with what their initial goal seems to be: creating the perfect human, which is essentially what the clones seem to be for. But if that were true, why weren't all the clones implanted with those things? Is it because Sarah has proven to be immune to the disease killing the clones? Or are they planning on doing this to all the clones should Sarah prove to be successful with whatever that thing is? It's so confusing yet so intriguing at the same time. And we still don't know what the hell it actually is and what its purpose is for.
I feel really horrible for Rachel. She's stuck in a Neolutionist facility, locked in a windowless room, having no mobility (though getting better), and is just trapped there. And her mother, man. Rachel may have been brought up self-aware, but it doesn't make her situation any less shitty. She didn't even have a chance for any kind of normalcy and familial love. She definitely puts on this front with being pro-clone based on that upbringing, but I think she envies the other clones for having at least a family unit of their own.
Though I am liking the dynamic between her and Charlotte. I mean, it definitely must have been a startling revelation that Charlotte was cloned directly from Rachel herself, but I do like that they seem to be working together to get the message out about their situation. I don't know what else is going to happen with them, but so far I'm really enjoying their scenes together.
I'm very curious about Kira. I've always believed that she is intuitive, just based on how she always knows when something isn't right or when something is going to happen. There has always been something about her that is a little more than ordinary, since the first season when she got hit by the vehicle but survived without any kind of injury aside from some scratches and bruises. Perhaps this is the kind of superior, perfect human that the Neolutionists are thinking about creating? A new generation of human being? Either way, I'm wondering if we're going to get further into that this season. I mean, just judging from this episode alone they seem to be focusing a great deal on Kira "dreaming" while still awake, having premonitions or visions or whatever you want to consider them.
Felix getting in touch with his biological half-sister was a nice. I know that Sarah isn't necessarily liking the situation all that much, mostly because she has bigger shit to deal with and having Felix by her side is something she's always had, especially throughout everything lately, but regardless she should at least understand and be supportive of his decision. She knows where she came from, and now he wants to know where he came from.
I'm just hoping that this isn't a farce, because it would be nice to have at least one of these characters have a moment of normalcy without it being part of some bigger plot. Felix can have his soul searching with his biological family, get some closure on himself, and then return back to the craziness that is Clone Club Central.
Cosima finding out what happened to Leekie was priceless. I mean, obviously it had to be told to her through Alison and Donnie via Skype, but the entire exchange was hilarious. And honestly, I'm glad that the truth is now out there, and with good reason since it will further the plot seeing as how Cosima can now investigate what the hell those robotic maggots are and what their function is. Although I'm more curious as to how the rest of them will react to this information.
Overall, this was yet again another solid episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Date: 2016-05-05 06:27 pm (UTC)And I'm with you on the Felix thing, but I just feel so worried. I mean, I want his sister to be real and not try to scam him or anything like that, but given this show- it's hard not to worry. Felix needs something of his own and something good for a change.
Hehe the Cosima/Alison/Donnie/Helena stuff was all just so wonderful!
