++ Zedd and Kesha have officially released the studio version of "True Colors", the one she performed at Coachella, which you can buy now on iTunes. The money won't be going to her abuser, so no need to worry about that in order to support her. The song itself is a perfect mantra for her and she sings it so beautifully. I'm just so happy that she has found a loophole to find a way of working with other producers, which hopefully soon she will be releasing her own music. ♥

++ Alicia Vikander has been cast as Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider film franchise reboot. I know some were banking on Daisy Ridley or even Alycia Debnam-Carey, but I'm pleased with this announcement. I think she's a wonderful actress and I can totally see her portraying Lara.

++ I may be going to a local Wizard World Comic Con in June, mostly because it's relatively very close to where I live. So far the only people I want to see is Jewel Staite and Hayley Atwell. I don't think I'll do anything extravagant aside from going to their panels, especially since scheduling is subject to change at any given point between now and then. I haven't returned to the convention scene since attending Dracon*Con in 2011, but I've always wanted to and this is the closest opportunity I'll get since it's in my hometown.

Yay for Alicia Vikander! I've been stanning her since "A Royal Affair" in 2012, and am so pleased atat how her career has been taking off...I was so happy she won the Oscar! <33

And oh are you near Philly then? There is a big con in DC as well that same weekend I am going to, with some pretty good guests. Ever since AwesomeCon in DC began attracting serious guests I go every year since it is my hometown (thus not requiring paying for a hotel and much for travel) and it's always funfun (although also thus far the prices have been cheaper than Wizard Con). I'm even attempting to do a cosplay this year.

No, I'm in California. While there are quite a handful of major conventions and events held in my state (SDCC being the biggest of them all), very few actually are held close by to where I live, and once in a blue moon will there be someone attending that I desperately want to see.

Going to this con sounds like a great idea, given the fact that it's close by enough and you want to visit a con again. And getting to see Jewel Staite and Hayley Atwell would be an amazing opportunity!

I have mixed feelings about the Tomb Raider movie. I mean, I saw the Angelina Jolie one in theaters for some reason. I should be all about the reboot. Especially with Alicia Vikander, who is pretty rad herself. I'll wait for a trailer/more information I guess.

Seeing all the support she has, from fans and other artists alike, makes me have hope.

Not gonna lie, I loved those Tomb Raider movies with Angelina Jolie, they were ridiculously fun. This seems like they may be going more along the lines of the new games, exploring Lara's origins and whatnot, which would be absolutely great to see on the big screen. It might not follow the games (not that most video game adaptations do anyway) but it would be interesting it it took elements from them and put their own spin on it. I'll certainly wait for more information surrounding it to make a final judgment though, but either way, I'm pleased with the casting choice. :)

It really is. I'm honestly baffled and disgusted at how long this has gone on, all she wants is out of her contract with her abuser (not even asking for money or anything like that) and they basically treat her like she's an object rather than a human being. And it's sad because this happens all the time, especially within the entertainment industry.

I'm happy that she's gotten the support from others though, and has been given this opportunity to record a song with another producer. I'm waiting for the day where she is finally free and able to make an official comeback. #FreeKesha

Oh, I didn't know there was gonna be a Tomb Raider reboot! I loved those movies when I was younger, and I went to see the second one in the cinema. I'm pretty excited for this, I have to say. It'll be fun to see how it turns out. :D

Yeah, I mean it makes sense since there was a reboot in the video game franchise to show Lara's origins, so I figure that is precisely why there is going to be a new movie. It's speculation at this point, of course, but I have a feeling they're going to probably focus on that particular era of Lara Croft, seeing how she actually became a tomb raider in the first place. And if that is true then I'm pretty excited. I loved the game, and seeing a version of it on the big screen would be lovely. And while I loved the previous movies, them being fun and entertaining, I'm curious as the tone of this one will be like (perhaps a bit darker, but I'm hoping not grimdark).

It was so hilarious. I love watching Lip Sync Battle in general because you see all the creativity and these actors/celebrities just having the time of their lives. It's ridiculous and good fun. ;)

NGL after seeing how amazing she was in TMFU and all the rave reviews she got for Ex Machina, I'm totally cool with it. I liked the other two you mentioned as well but I knew there was no way it was gonna be Daisy.

I know her legal situation hasn't gone away yet, but it makes me so overjoyed at seeing something released from her, even if it isn't her song it is still her singing and doing something that she loves. ♥

There was a small chance that Daisy could've gotten the role, I think, since it can be possible that she can land another major role after her breakout major role. Nevertheless though, as much as it would've been pretty sweet seeing her in the role, I'm happy that Alicia got the part.

Yes! That's exactly how I feel. I've always loved her music and so it's nice to see that she can still do what she loves and we can all enjoy it.

While that's true, I kind of have a feeling that Hollywood wouldn't be so keen on one single woman being the lynchpin of too many series'

Go Kesha! I'm so happy that she's found the strength to keep working in the music industry even after going through so much trauma.

I enjoyed Alicia Vikander in Ex Machina so I'm game to see her rock out as Lara Croft. I love Daisy Ridley but it sounds like she's getting lots of work as well so she'll be fine without doing all of the movies ;)

Yay conventions! I miss having Wizard World in Toronto. They were a very well run convention. I missed seeing Hayley when she was at our Fan Expo last summer but I have seen Jewel a few times and hope to see her again this summer. She's worth going to see :)

She's amazing, so brave despite everything that's been happening. And I like that she's performing in front of people again. I know that she's been writing her own stuff which hopefully will be made once she's out of this situation, but until then I'm still happy that she's getting the opportunity to still get out there and do what she loves with the support from others. ♥

lol, that's true. Of course I look at all the video clips of Daisy training?/weight lifting and it's like damn, she would've made a fantastic Lara Croft just from that alone.

Ever since Firefly I love watching the panels the cast do, and I love that Jewel has been constantly going to conventions throughout the years. I mean, she's been featured heavily in scifi and genre television and loves going to those kinds of events, and has mentioned many times how she loves meeting fans, so it would be fantastic just to see her in person. :)
