++ You have no idea how happy I am that Isaiah Mustafa and Terry Crews are joining together in the new hilarious Old Spice commercials. Isaiah especially, because his Old Spice Guy commercials have always been a real treat. Remember when they did the twitter questions thing where he made special individual viral videos doing all those effects? That was an event that gave me life, and while this collaboration isn't on that level, it still is pure fun.

++ It seems that ABC has decided to go ahead with the Mockingbird spin-off, which they had previously passed on earlier this year. Interesting. While I do like Bobbi and Lance on Agents of Shield since they mesh well with the ensemble cast, I would like to see their individual stories separate from the main show. Since the second season finale had them bring everything to the table, Bobbi in particular, I would love to see what they do with their own story. I wonder how it'll happen. Perhaps it'll be like Agent Carter, a shortened season premiering during hiatus.

++ Apparently, the extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has been rated R, making it the first of the Middle-earth films to have such a rating. Considering the amount of violence the battle scenes and deaths of the LOTR trilogy had, in both theatrical and extended, it's curious why BOTFA received such a higher rating when every other movie of both trilogies were strictly PG13. Obviously we're going to be seeing more of the battle, so it makes me wonder how much more graphic it'll be, especially in comparison to the LOTR battles and deaths. Nevertheless, apparently we're going to be having a special treat since the entire Hobbit extended trilogy will be back in theaters in October, and you know that I'll be hoping to get tickets to see that. It would be the perfect birthday present.

I also really love how, since this dubsmash war has blown up in unexpected ways, they're taking full advantage of it and using it for a good cause. You can really tell how much fun they have with it in general, and they're just all so adorable. So the first round that had just finished confirmed that Hayley won, since she brought in Chris Evans. So it makes me wonder what they'll have in store for us this round... ;)

So excited to see Hobbit Extended in the theater. I hope it will be playing wherever I end up (and that I have job by then so I have money). This is my number one fandom right now, so I'm really excited to see Tolkien movies in the theater again.

I'm really hoping that it will be showing around my area, too. Because I would love to see this marathon of all extended movies with other fellow Hobbit fans. Aside from midnight premieres, I actually never been to any huge theater event like that before, so if this does happen for me it should be interesting how that goes. And like you said, this will be the last time anything Tolkien will be in theaters (until they decide to do another special viewing for both trilogies at some point during the future).

I went to both the double DOS/BOFA showing and then the midnight showing of BOFA. It was so much fun. I love those sorts of events. Being in the theater with other fans is really fun.

I'm still holding out hope that maybe someday there will be a Silmarillion movie (or better yet a TV show because it would make the most amazing tv show that would totally fit on HBO or such channels).

But yes, last Tolkien movie probably or at least for a good long while.

Let's face it, when it comes to Dubsmash Hayley is a tough act to beat. However, when Clark Gregg was dressed as Peggy that one really took the cake. So it makes me wonder what they have in store for one-upping each other during this second round. :3

It does seem a tad excessive to have two spin-offs from AOS, however I do love Bobbi Morse so anything that has her be the lead in her own show is fine by me. And I do agree that I would love to see something new within the Marvel universe done for television.

(Though I'll be honest, unless they offer something new and interesting to the genre I'm kind of burnt out on superhero shows.)

I can deal with more Marvel shows mostly because I don't watch any DC shows any more. Since storylines tend to be related with crossovers and everything, it's more practical to just pick a side, and Marvel has always had my preference by far.

Everything about the Dubsmash war gives me life. SO EXCITED about the continuation of the Dubsmash War! I'm not sure how they can top Clark Gregg in Peggy drag and Haley enlisting the help of Chris Evans, but I'm sure whatever they do will make the internet a brighter place. It's great that they're turning it into a charity fundraiser.

I'm not sure how I feel about a Mockingbird spinoff. I really like Bobbi and Hunter's pretty good too, but I like them as part of the team. Of all the things Marvel could have done for another TV show, this seems like one of the less interesting ideas. Hopefully it got greenlit because they had some really interesting plans for the plot. *crosses fingers*

Considering that they tweeted at each other, I'm really hoping that Hayley and The Rock get to have a go with collaborating with the Dubsmash. It would be perfect for this round, imho. ;)

I can understand the reservations. When the spin-off was first announced and initially passed, I expressed my thoughts on how it wasn't entirely a loss because I did love Bobbi and Hunter as part of the AOS ensemble cast. Because sometimes certain characters work better with others than being off on their own, because it can be hard to sell something like that without there being enough material for their own solo projects where it can easily be shown on the main show. On the other hand, if they plan this smartly, it can allow their characters to be fully explored without feeling like there's so much going on with other characters. I mean, we already have Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow all existing in the same universe, with the latter two being spin-offs themselves, so anything is possible depending on how it's handled.

Oh, I would love to see all the extended Hobbit films in cinema. I know they have shown all extended versions of the LOTR films at local cinemas where I live before (sadly I have never experienced that), so I guess there is hope they will show these as well.

It does sound strange that this one gets a higher rating...makes me wish I did not have to wait to see why.

Regardless whether I will be going to this event or not, once it's available to purchase I will no doubt be marathoning the extended trilogy in its entirety in my own home. I'm sure many fans will be doing the same, along with the LOTR extended editions as well. :3

I rationalize it's because the entire movie itself is one huge battle sequence, for the most part. But still, considering how dark the LOTR films were it does make me scratch my head on what caused the final verdict.

Huh. I guess the relative success of Agent Carter and AoS respectively made them decide to reevaluate the spinoff? Mostly, I can't remember the last time ABC passed over a spinoff, only to revisit it.

Yeah, I'm guessing that they've added parts into the Battle? Which might make sense of why it pushes the envelope for the ratings, since the movie is literally focused on the battle itself, whereas the other LOTR movies had bits and pieces spliced in across various scenes, so it might just add up.

Perhaps that may be the case. If not, then it does make me wonder what the initial reason was for passing the first time before returning to that idea. Usually when a network passes on a show, spin-off or not, they usually don't revisit the idea months later without there being a specific reason behind it.

Yeah, I figure it would be mostly due to the battle. But still, even with the splicing of scenes in LOTR the battle and action sequences were still quite violent and bloody, albeit a bit darker with the way it was filmed as opposed to how The Hobbit was filmed. IDK. The whole rating system in general is very weird, the strangest thing can set off the MPAA to up a rating for whatever reason.

The fact that the theatrical version was PG13, yet the extended version will be R, has me wondering what exactly qualifies crossing the line that much to get such a rating by the MPAA. I mean, I know most of the film was basically one huge battle sequence, but that wouldn't necessarily make it so brutal or violent to require an R rating.

Granted, we live in a world where a woman who experiences confidence in her sexuality will make a film become R-rated despite there nothing else happening aside from that. The entire rating system in general is weird and kind of fucked up esp in those terms.
