Yeah, in theory season 3 having shorter arcs wasn't a bad idea as season 2 got really ambitious in how they tried to follow up the Lily Kane murder with another season-long mystery, it's just a shame that season 3's mini-arcs wasn't better executed.

Yeah, exactly. I felt that S3 was getting back to the rhythm that I liked so much from S1, but it still had a lot of issues that just didn't feel right due to its execution.

Also, another thing was the consistent rape storylines. I don't mind there being something as an examination and commentary about rape culture, which is something that S1 also did very well with showing how Veronica fought back against being victimized and helping out others who also fell victim to similar situations, but the show didn't know how to handle such storylines after that. It was as though rape became a punchline or an afterthought, such as making Cassidy a rapist for no reason. Or the whole Hearst storyline in S3 and the whole Lilith House debacle.
