Unpopular Opinions

(I don't have too many since the show is still new and hasn't finished its first season yet, but I do have a couple.)

01. I like Rebecca Sutter. I didn't realize people weren't fond of her character until I looked online and I'm just baffled. But I really like her a whole lot, and I also like her relationship with Wes.

02. Connor certainly isn't a saint, but I do like his relationship with Oliver and I really want them to work out despite the complications that are sure to follow.

01. That *is* an unpopular opinion. I confess I'm not the biggest fan of her either, although I don't mind Laurel, whom a lot of people seem to hate.

02. I like Connor too! I didn't know that was a UO. I thought he was the fandom darling for being hot and gay, actually.

I've noticed that too, yeah. It seems there's a lot of varying opinions about characters depending on what is happening with them in an episode or what's going on with their storyline. I remember there was some dislike for Michaela because of her questioning about her fiance's sexual past (i.e. basically erasing the possibility of him being bisexual, which is either a reaction based on a character flaw or an issue with the writers).

I'm not entirely certain about the popularity of the character aside from the whole "hot and gay" thing, but I have seen some people divided on his character and his relationship with Oliver. Some think people woobify Connor's behavior and want Oliver to find someone better, some want them to work things out. For me, Oliver isn't stupid. He has stood his ground where Connor is concerned and I think that's why I'm intrigued by their relationship. It's going to be complicated as hell, but I'm interesting on where it's going to go.

i guess it's still a pretty new show, so people are still developing their opinions. i get the feeling laurel isn't hitting the points she's supposed to w/r/t the audience's perception, but michaela is - she's just meant to be kind of an asshole.

ah, i see what you mean about connor/oliver. i ship them friendship-wise, but not so much relationship wise for the reasons you alluded to about oliver deserving somebody better. connor's hot and actually my favourite of the cast, but dude is a mess.
