Lost Girl: "Big In Japan" Episode Review

Bo suffering from low sex drive due to the stresses happening in her life makes sense. Granted she's dealt with so much over the course of the show, but she's dealt with such huge revelations and loss in such a short period of time that it definitely left her fatigued even when she didn't realize it. Furthermore, she blamed herself for the things that happened and kept it bottled up inside of her. We already knew that she fears being alone, it's something she's always been afraid of; her abandonment issues coming to light all over again when Kenzi left. Which wasn't her fault either, but she felt that with Kenzi leaving was like losing a part of herself, and I definitely think that was the one that affected her the most.
Of course I felt that a Succubus who didn't feed would have far more fatigue than she did if she had a low sex drive. Much like when vampires feed off blood, Succubi feed off sexual energy as their life supply. Having no effect with her abilities weakened her, but I always felt it would've had more of a physical affect on her. Perhaps if it was prolonged, but she managed to finally get that energy back.
I liked that it was Tamsin who understood what needed to be done, to push her into talking. She lives with her, has seen her trying to deal with everything, of course she would try to figure it out. Go, Tam-Tam.
Bo understandably has huge abandonment issues, and it definitely worsens when someone she loves and cares about dies. Her nature as a Succubus and the dangerous life that she leads, particularly when it comes to her "destiny" as a leader, doesn't help this either. She is surrounded by this found family and she's afraid of losing any more of them, but I liked that no matter what they will remain by her side despite it all and have reassured her of that fact. Bo regained her confidence that, yeah, this particular chosen title sucks ass, but it is what she does with it that makes all the difference.
I did like the mythology of the week in this episode. Japanese mythology intrigues me so much, and I liked that the ascending one wasn't the man but the woman, whose story was stolen from her by her brother who failed to acknowledge proper honor.
And Tamsin and Bo is everything to me. Just saying. ♥
I'm making my way through the episodes I've missed so the next episode review should come rather shortly.
